Kelly Coffey-Meyer DVDS

I just did her first step boxing workout and love it. Which of her dvds would you recomend next. Shape of things to come, NYC a new you coming, or her new dvds cardio sculpt and/or cardio kick. Is the new step boxing different enough from her first to justify buying it. Thanks for any feedback. Mary

Hi Mary,

I don't have the original step boxing one, but just posted today on the forum that I did the new Step Boxing (almost an hour) and really liked it!

I just did "NYC a New You Coming" for the first time yesterday. It is a well rounded workout, very fast paced light/moderate weights. My hr was up all the time and at the end I felt I had a good workout. About 45 min long. The only thing that bothered me was her being off beat occasionally.

Another vote for NYC. I'm usually not into endurance workouts but I really liked this one. Had a lot of unique moves and non-weighted leg work. This one really flew by for me. I'm not crazy about her cardio but I would probably try another strength workout from her. Her first Step Kickboxing was fast paced, had a short toning segement with compound moves and an ab segment. The cardio was okay but had a lot of step taps to change feet and got really annoying and I think she could cue a little better.

I REALLY like her new Step Kickboxing. It's extremely fun with great music and is a lot different than the first one.

Also, love the new Cardio Sculpt one. Did it today and burned 649 calories. It had a really good ab section and biceps section. Her first Cardio Sculpt was good as well. I like all of her stuff and own it all.

I haven't done her first step DVD in a while, but she cues a bit fast for me and I have to practice with her DVDs....but she's great.

Hope you enjoy what you buy. I liked the newer and older Cardio Sculpts more than NYC....but only cuz NYC had a lot of moves I had to modify for my shoulders due to a cervical disc injury....as she did a lot of lifting the DB's over the head and I'm not allowed to lift past the shoulders.

I traded away NYC...I just didn't click with it. I love the original stepboxing but I think I like the newer stepboxing even better. I also enjoy the Cardio Sculpt for a good intermediate circuit type workout. The workouts flow and she uses some funky music with a really good beat in both of her newest. The pace is pretty fast in both of these but I love that about them! Kelly has found a nitche for herself and these latest workouts are really, really great!

My absolute favorites are The Shape of Things to Come and Step Boxing 2. Close 2nds would be NYC and the new Cardio/Sculpt workout. The original Step Boxing was a little frantically paced for me. I never had Ready, Step, Go!

She is my favorite instructor after Cathe. Kimberly Spreen is third.
I like all KCM workouts for one reason or another. The newest Step Box is unbelievably fun.

I really like both the original step-boxing workout and her new one, with a slight preference for the new one because it's all cardio and longer. The two workouts do have enough different choreography to feel different. The new workout is supposed to be a bit slower, but it's not perceptibly so, which is a good thing, IMO, because I like her pace.

I also really like her new cardio-sculpt and "NYC". (I'm doing a KC-M rotation, using all her workouts, but haven't gotten to "Shape of Things to Come" yet--it's on the plans for today--so can't speak to that one yet). I think the new one is the best of her cardio/sculpt type workouts.

I'm lukewarm on her step workout. I like Kelly a lot, but her cuing is iffy and sometimes frustrating (though her moves are simple). Sometimes how she cues a move doesn't jog my memory enough, and at times, she'll say to 'repeat that, other side' without specifying what 'that' is: the last move? the last sequence? from the top of this segment? (but quite a few instructors do that).

I like all of Kelly's offerings but my favorites would be her newest Step Boxing workout, and all of her cardio sculpt workouts. To get a flavor for her cardio sculpt workouts you could try her first one or her newest, they are both great workouts. I also love NYC.

In the original kickboxing workout, it always feels like she is constantly moving with an ever so slight, miniscule, fast little bounce that drives me a little nuts. I find that I have to sometimes watch the two women in the back for relief. It's almost like she has way too much nervous energy. I like the workout other than that though. Is she like that in her new kickboxing workout??

She does seem to bounce on the floor in all her step moves.

This is kind of how I felt about her first step-boxing workout, which I ended up selling. Plus the pace just felt too fast--sort of frenetic. But I still ordered the new one and it turns out I like it much better. She is still pretty energetic but at least I can keep up and I found the moves to be pretty fun. I think this one is a keeper.

I also like the NYC workout. I've got the new Cardio Sculpt but haven't had a chance to try it yet.
