Hi All!

Not sure if anyone noticed this. Kelly now has her "Trim Down" Fall 2013 workout up to view the clip and Pre-order. This will be ready to ship by September 30th as she said on her site. It looks really cool its a boxing and weights type workout with just Kelly alone. IMHO this has a Circuit Burn sort of vibe which I love so you can guess I pre-ordered but you can only do so until 9/22 its just a 7 day pre-order sale only and this workout will not be available to buy separately later. Just wanted to give out the details.

Here's the link CoffeyFit You can click on the underlined link at her page to view the clip.

Enjoy!:)

I've never tried any of her workouts. What are her best weights (heavy or hypertrophy type) DVDs? I've looked at her Muscle Definition one but haven't tried it...any others?

Dixiegirl:

Kelly's weights workouts are not much like Cathe's. She pushes you to sue the heaviest weight you can, but they are not technically "heavy weights workouts" such as S&H or 4DS.

Kelly uses a lot of explosive moves, mixed with endurance lifting and compound moves. She works the lower body and upper always in the same workout and her lower body gets less attention that Cathe gives it. Kelly uses very different exercises from Cathe often. Only dumbbells, nor barbell, except in the LIFT and Powersculpt DVD which is power lifting. I like this DVD a lot. Kelly's weights work often has a cardio feel.

It's always hard to know if die-hard Cathe fans will like Kelly's DVDs or not. She doesn't believe in maximum intensity for intensity's sake. She does not believe in going so hard you end up breaking down the body gradually. So, each DVD features 2 30 min workouts but always with a premix that combines the two, which are what I do.

Personally, I like Muscle Definition. I always do the premix which provides a combo of workout 1 and 2 and *2 of everything. This makes it very squarely into Cathe territory, if that is what you seek.

I very much liked the clip of Trim Down and my order is in. I combine Kelly and Cathe and these two ladies form the mainstay of my fitness program, in addition to powerwalking and running.

She doesn't do heavy weights like Cathe, but her heavier workouts I would say would be Split Sessions and Weights.

When I watched the clip from Lean Legs & Abs, I thought, Hey, these moves look a lot like what Kelly -C-M does in her workouts.

Power Sculpting is one of my favorites. It's the 2nd workout on the LIFT DVD. Funny, I do not like the LIFT style and was going to sell the DVD, but tried the Power Sculpting workout and it is in my top 3 KCM favorites now. I also think Your Best Body is a good one too.

Yep, I like Your Best Body too. It never seems to get any easier! Th shoulder works makes me scream. It's definitely an endurance lifting DVD: she works each upper body muscle group with 2 exercises back to back, alternating up to 6 sets of each with no break at all. You feel this quickly. Then, there's a long set of a move which may get a twist half way through the set for the lower body and another for core/abs.

This DVD has more lower body work than most of her others and it works for me. She does alot of standing core work, which I haven't quite made up my mind about, but on days when I am more tired, I am grateful for it as it gives the upper body a quick break before w eget back to it again.

So each of the 30 min workouts on the DVD run through the same format. So if you do both workouts, you will have 10 exercises for lower body and 4 for each upper body muscle group. It gets a lot done in 60 mins and very quickly.

Again, dumbbells, no barbell. although I use mine for deadlifts always because it's the only way I can go heavy enough.

Oh this looks like fun! I like how she's doing the pushups around 2:15. I'm still having issues with those since I hurt my back. Has anyone done the "your healthy back" video that she has under the 30 minutes to fitness?

I received my KCM Trim Down on Monday and did it yesterday morning. I just wanted to post my thoughts on it:

It is an interval workout which alternates between weight work and then cardio boxing work. Most of the weight work was compound incorporating upper and lower body. Most of the boxing cardio was basically upper body with minimal foot work ( but then you ARE standing so there is some). There are a fewer of the upper body boxing sets that incorporate more intense legs that really ups your heart rate.

I enjoyed the concept of alternating between weight work and upper body boxing sets. I believe each set was 60 to 90 seconds before moving on. It really made for a fun and interesting work out that was not boring. I am not huge boxing fan, but this was great. Also, this workout was a challenge. I work out at least 6 to 10 hours per week and this workout did challenge me. I also have almost all of Cathe's workouts (except for about 8 to 10) which I actually do on a regular basis. I certainly felt worked when I finished Trim Down.

Also, Kelly's delivery is so pleasant and conducive to a good workout. She is friendly and kind, but also matter-of-fact and no-nonsense. She knows we need and want a good workout and communicates this attitude without being overbearing or phony.

This was definitely worth my money and I will be putting this in my regular workouts for sure.

Thanks for the review Tracy, haven't gotten to my copy yet, but I'm excited to know this one delivers. It has way better music than Kelly's usual offerings. One of her upcoming projects is going to be tabata drills interspersed with weights, I believe a little in the style of this workout.

I have done both of Kelly's Trim Down and found them to be challenging and fun as well, Tracy. I loved them both but I think #2 is my favorite. I didn't mind her going solo at all and it delivered a nice full body workout in 30 minutes. I have a LOT of videos from different instructors but Cathe and KCM are the two that I use most of the time. :D

Just did Workout 1 this morning and all I can say is WOW! Loved it. I knew there were boxing type drills so I used my Cathe weighted gloves...need I say more? I could do most of the drills, but at the end, when she does the second set of speed bag drills, I had to take them off.

Great workout, I can't wait to try #2.
