I gather this DVD is less intense than Cathe's workouts, right?
I just wondered if it had a lot of options for combining workouts and making them longer? I notice the description says 30 minute workouts, which is great for some days, but wondered if it had ways to combine different sections to get more intense workouts. I also noticed it was a combination of the Burn&Firm and Yoga videos, and that Burn & Firm had a 77 minute double circuit combo. Does the Sleek Physique DVD have options like that also? Sorry to pelt you with so many questions, but this sounds like a nice option for days when I'm not up to Cathe's intensity!

Thanks,
Rhonda

Whoo! This is the first time I had thread with my name in it!

Anyway....Sleek Physique is definitely not as intense as Cathe. I'd say intermediate at most. It was made by combining segments from two new KV videos: a yoga video and a circuit cardio/weight video.

Each day is set up already, so, for example, you do cardio and lower body on Monday. Wednesday is yoga strength. Sunday is yoga stretch. The other days are combos of cardio and strength or all strength.

The cardio is a nice change of pace because it's low impact but high intensity. The lower body work is done with no weights, but Karen finds ways of varying the angles, etc., to give it more intensity. The upper body weight work is kind of like I find all of KV upper body work to be. She uses the same set of weights for the entire workout, and it doesn't make sense. For example, if you choose 5# dumbbells, you will work your rear delts nicely, but your lats (using the same weight) won't even feel it! The ab work is absolutely fantastic. Short, but very effective (KV has always done good ab work, in my opinion).

In all, there is about two hour's worth of actual footage that is mixed and matched over the 7 days. Each cardio day has the same 4 (I think) cardio circuits, but in different order. Each lower body workout is the same, etc. The only variation is the yoga. There is a standing "strength" option, or an on-the-floor "stretch and relaxation" option.

I found the Sleek Physique DVD at Target today (cheap!) so I snapped it up! I figured it would be perfect for those days when I wasn't up to the Cathe workout!

I am curious to know how the two, Sleek Physique and Burn&Firm are different. Bobbi, if you get a chance could you post about it?

Thanks,
Rhonda
