Kashi's

The TLC crackers are great! We've only had the 7 grain variety. I bought the cheese flavor, but haven't tried them yet. My kids like them a lot.

Thanks for the tip on the crackers, ladies. That has been the most difficult thing to find a substitute for when you're trying to not put trans fat in your kids. We eat alot cheese and crackers for snacks. I wish there was a sub for Raspberry Fig Newtons...my kids like those too but...trans fat. At least they don't ask for Oreos anymore and I make choc chip at home so I know what's in that.

One other thing I'll throw in...I'm finding food items in the grocery stores that are geared towards diabetics are far 'healthier' choices and worth checking the labels on...and no sugar to boot.

How different is the plain Go Lean from Go Lean crunch? I was at the grocery store this weekend and remembering this topic, I was thinking I should probably buy the Go Lean instead of Crunch. But looking at the box - it just didn't look very tasty. It looked more like things I would see in my yard rather than in my cereal. Twigs and stuff. So I bought Crunch. *sigh* Is there much of a difference between the two?

Laura-
Look at the sugar grams on the box. I assume the "Crunch" cereals are not low on the GI index because they have more simple sugars. They don't sell it at my market, so I don't know. Sugar wreaks havoc with my body! :-(

Has anyone tried Seven in the Morning? It's like Grape-Nuts, only to my mind better, doesn't have quite that tooth-shattering quality. Plus I think it's a little more nutritionally complete, although I haven't compared the boxes side by side. It's another Kashi one, though.
