I just wanted to say thank you thank you THANK YOU for recommending "Intuitive Eating!!!!!!!" I can't even thank you enough! I read the whole book and starting last week, I implemented a lot of the theories in there. It's tough trying not to keep track of calories but I'm learning along the way and now can say I've made peace with food. I don't feel obsessed with it anymore, eat what I feel like eating (within reason of course), and I'm just sooooooo happy right now. I don't remember the last time I felt this good! And already I dropped 2 pounds since starting a week ago.

Your very welcome Melissa. I sent you a PM last week checking in on you. I'm reading it now my second time through. I haven't binged in almost a month now. Its very difficult to get rid of the diet rules but they were making me worse and i was actually gaining weight because the more rules i tried to follow the worse my binging got. I've actually lost weight since my binging has stopped. The book has been my savior. Its so freeing to no longer count cals, protein, fat, carbs, to not weigh and measure my food, and to not punish myself for wanting or eating a cookie or piece of cake.

Kariev, I am excited to hear that you have found something to help you stop the binges. They were just bringing you down so much.

I have recently resorted to counting calories to try and lose weight and I despise it. I will definitely have to look into this book.

Thanks Linda. The binges were definately affecting me terribly physically and mentally. They were even affecting the relationships around me. Definately check out the book. While I do think calorie counting helps for some, it didn't work for me. It made me obsessed. Not to mention caloric needs/hunger is not constant day to day. It cycles so by saying you have to eat "x" amount of cals each day doesn't make sense because some days you may need more and some days less. Thats why its so important to listen to your natural hunger cues. Its a process and i'm still working on it.
