I wasn't able to get onto the computer yesterday so I apologize for not responding to some of you about my vaccine thread. This ordeal has definitely been a learning experience for me. I just wanted to thank all of you who took the time to share your stories and information.

Tucker is feeling much better now. He finally starting drinking water yesterday and actually brought me his ball to play..yay :D
Now he just needs a bath to get the pukey smell off...been waiting until he feels better.

He just jumped on on my lap and put his nose on the screen..he he :7 He's giving kisses!

Have a great weekend!

I love doggie kisses! I'm glad he's feeling better. I have 2 weiner dogs and get so afraid they are going to hurt themselves or get sick. I just don't know what I'd do without them. After I read your post, I went in and told b/f "no more vaccincations!"

Glad your baby is ok! It's terrible when anything happens to them!

I don't give vaccines to my german shepherd. I do however have "titers" ran to make sure his immune system is up to par!:)

My state requires the rabies shot so I give a homepathic remedy afterwards to counteract the adverse effects! BTW, he's due one by the end of this month and I'm not looking forward to it at all.

Take care! And give that little fella' of yours a bunch of hugs and kisses!:7

Glad to hear Tucker is doing better!

I just bought a new book called the "Holistic Dog Book". There was a whole chapter about vaccinations and I thought about you. I bought the book on Ebay and it was $ 5 plus shipping, it's $ 11 on www.amazon.com.

Tina, I do the same, no vaccinations after 1 year but I have the vet run blood tests, including the titers. My dogs just got their rabies shots (required by law in my state, too x( ) and I gave them a homeopathic remedy afterwards (Lyssin 30C) and they did well, they were a little tired for a couple of days.

Tucker is definitely feeling better...back into mischief ;-)

Carola, thanks for the book recommendation. I was going to go to the bookstore this weekend so I'm definitely going to try and find it.

Where do you buy the homeopathic remedies that you give to your dogs after rabies vaccinations? Is that something you can get from a health food store?

Take Care!

Hi Chastity!
I have a homeopath I take my Harley to. We only have to go once a year as he's a pretty healthy fella':) I talk to his homeopath by phone with issue we may be having and all I had to do was tell her he was due his rabie shot and she sent me the remedy.

I think I have seen Lyssin in our local health food store. If not, you can find it on-line.

Carola, I give the Lyssin right after the rabies shot is given. The first night I give Engystol and for the next 2 days. Three weeks later I give one dose of Thuja and a second dose of that one week later.

I would not have believed in this so much if I hadn't seen a remedy she gave us for staph infection. His little belly had lost all the hair and had big red inflamed spots. They didn't seem to bother him that much but they sure bothered me :-( Of course, I wanted to see that infection clear up fast but didn't want to give him antibiotics...so I worked with our homeopath and she told me to be patient. We are healing from the inside out not just covering up the systems. In 2 months they were gone and regrowth of that soft belly hair started coming back!:7

For any of you who are into homeopathic remedies for your cat or dog there is a really good book....Homeopathic Care for Cats and Dogs / Small Doses For Small Animals by Don Hamilton, DVM

Hope some of this helps!
