Just a thought I had about something..............

You know with alot of us being 39 years of age, I was thinking..... what are we all going to do next year when we turn the big 4-0!? Maybe we need to have a cyber party each month or in the middle of the year for all of us who turn 40 including Cathe!:D Cyber parties have no calories so we can "bring" anything we like. Also maybe those of us on the verge of 40 could list your goals for that year and then see how close we come to meeting them:eek: .

I plan on losing the rest of the weight I have to lose before I turn 40 in March. I also want to see some definition in my upper body by then too.:)

What are your goals for 40?

And don't hide I know from other threads that there are alot of 39 year olds on this forum!!:7

Thanks:7

I think a cyber party sounds cute! :D

I have no clue what my goals are for 40? There are things I wish to achieve during my 40th year like ACTUALLY being able to do the hi/lo portion of MIC like Cathe and the crew!(I still jog in place for portions of the REALLY high impact) And heck, while I'm at it, I'll add being able to do Imax2 without modifications! And I guess I'd like to deepen the definition in some areas and for the love of GOD get that tiny pocket of flab at my underarm to just suck in, go away, shrivel up, or go wherever so long as its NOT at my underarm anymore!
So I guess those would be my goals? :D

Fitness~ It's a journey, not a race!

p.s. I'll be 40 on Dec. 15th! I can't believe its so close!x(

I'll be 42 in December and every year since I turned 40, I set a fitness (as opposed to an aesthetic) goal. For 40, my goal was to be able to do a split. For 41, at least five big girl pushups. For 42, I'd like to be able to do a teaser.

I love the powerful feeling of achieving these goals. It makes aging a wee bit easier.:)

I think thats a great idea, I will be 40 in Feb--and my goal is to run my first half marathon. That will take place in Jan. but I think its close enough....if I can train for it in time,(before the 41 b-day) I would love to have completed a full marathon while Im 40!!

Good luck to all with their goals--40 or not!!

OK, you spring chickens here is a little motivation for you. The year I turned 40 was also the year when I decided to run my first marathon -- the famous New York City Marathon. The boost I got from crossing the finish line is very hard to put into words. Turning 40 was almost nothing in comparison to the pride I felt.
Maybe not everybody can put in the time and effort for marathon training, but doing something physically hard is very motivating.
PS. Since then I finished 14 marathons and 2 ultramarathons. Now I have many medals and an arthritic right hip -- not related to running though -- which has made it hard to train.
I've recently found Cathe and I love her tapes to death. Her tough workouts helped me through that difficult time of my life when I thought that my "being a marathoner" identity was over. Now I enjoy the challenge of her tapes almost as much as marathon training. Life is good...

:) :) :)

Well, yes, I am another 39 year old turning the big 40 in April....yikes that is soooo close mow! But, no, no marathons for me! The very thought just boggles my mind. I think no way, no how! I still kinda hate my two forced cardio days each week. Thank goodness I found kickboxing! I think my goals for next year just finding some stength to conquer Imax 2. Still can't get past #8... And I would love to go all the way through bootcamp! And let us not forget we could have a whole new set of things to conquer when the new series finally arrives! And the last thing is this: I want flat, defined abs! My midsection is great, but there is that last patch of poochiness that just refused to budge...you know the stuff from the two kids....UGH! But I don't know about the rest of you, but I think our 40s are gonna be AWESOME. Thanks to our friend Cathe I think I look better now than any other time in my life....bring on that birthday cake topped with a big 40...I am so ready. Take care, Donna.
