Good morning ladies...

Busy day yesterday...Lauren had drawing lessons and Chris had baesball practice. And I had to get to the grocery store in between since we were out of milk! I did do my workout. I always try to make time for that...I did Muscle Endurance. Today I am going to have fun with Cathe and Rhythmic Step....If it doesn't end up raining today, the kids and I are going to go to the pool.

Ok, time to get this day going!!

Hey Kathy!
Hey Girls!!

Yesterday was busy for me too. Went to the DC Chaperone meeting. Interesting stuff. Part of it, we picked groups to be chaperone to. The VP and teachers were actually NICE to me. No throwing under the bus for me. There was ONE group of girls left at the end that NOBODY wanted (apparently troublemakers). And it was MY turn to take someone. They ended up splitting them between 2 other teachers, and said I ONLY had to take the 8 I already had. (4 boys, including Zach, and 4 girls). I'm kind of nervous about chaperoning. I have NO idea what to do. I mean, with little kids, you watch them ALL THE TIME. I don't think it's like that with teenagers! We leave on the trip Tuesday morning, at 6:00. Go to Philadelphia first, and spend some time there, and then drive the last 3 hours to DC after that. I guess when we get there, we have dinner, and then go on a Colonial GHOST Tour! Hope I don't get all girly scared from it! LOL!... Wed, Thurs AND Friday are JAM PACKED with touring. On Wed we don't get back to the hotel until 11p!!!:eek: (after a dinner cruise on the Potomac!). And Friday, we tour, and then head back in the afternoon, arriving back in town at or around 11pm!!! Oh MY! I'm exhausted thinking about it!

And then last night I went to Zach's last Band Concert. His band was the LAST performance, so it was kind of boring leading up to it. But I was very impressed with their 7th and 8th grade band! They sounded REALLY good! . The 8th graders received pins and awards. I swear it was JUST yesterday I was watching the award ceremony and Zach was in 6th grade, and I thought how far away it was for him. Stop this ride!! I'm going to be a MESS at their graduation (Joanne, I totally know what you mean!!!!) How the heck can he be in HIGH SCHOOL ???

Today he went to 6 Flags with the band, ALL DAY. You'd think I'd be worried about his diabetes, but instead, I'm worried about his cell phone and the $300 iTouch he took with him!!! AND not to mention the $5,000 insulin pump he has! He tells me they're going to go in the water park. I begged him to take a backpack. (one of those little slings). He refused. Ugh. He doesn't get back until 6pm tonight!

Wow, I've rambled! Sorry!

Kathy: Have fun with RS today!!! Always a good one! It goes by so quickly, because it's so fun for me. Any DOMS from ME yesterday? Enjoy the pool today!!

Joanne: Good luck today with graduation!!! Take lots of pictures!!!

Hottie: I'm so excited for you starting STS rotation!!!! That is so cool! STS is always makes me feel so much more disciplined in my workouts. You need that sometimes. ...Oh forgetabout those freakin butt kicks. You do NOT need to do them EVER! HATE THEM! :p How exciting about the furniture!! Not sure if you feel the same way, but I get all nervous/anxious spending a ton of money. So if that's where your therapist helped you out, i think I need one of those too!

HEY BETH! (wonder if we're drinking this morning? RU typing now too?)

I have some pretty good DOMS from PUB Up yesterday. Esp in my chest.

I'm thinking my cardio today is going to be a run at the park! I was debating on whether to do a cardio here first, and THEN do a run, but I'm just going to run, as long as I can. I think doing cardio first zaps my stamina.

Better get going, going to download a few new iTunes to my iPod!

BBL!

Good morning! Oh my gosh you guys..... I need a thread that lasts a week! I just can't get here often enough. :) Saw Joanne's post but I wasn't able to write back at that moment, and then the day spiraled out of control and now here I am, having forgotten Joanne's post except that yes, you were thin and perfect in my dream -- except lost, so yes, I'd say it was all very accurate! You had that nice midwest accent, too. ;)

And of course I remember that Hottie was finally back and yes of course we missed you!!!

Chris, OMG, you leave tomorrow?! How's it going? You must be in panic mode! At the rate I get back here, I'd better wish you a bon voyage now! Or as my kids say "bon voyagie!" lifted from Bugs Bunny, of course.

I had a killer workout today! It was a bodyrock one that started with 500 high knees, broken into 100s with 20 kettlebell swings in between. It got worse from there. I'm surprised I made it through. There were 500 "low jacks" which are jacks in a squat with your hands on your head (it makes it harder somehow). I had to switch to regular jacks! And those were broken into 100s with swings in between, too. Anyway, I'm fried!

Kathy, have a great time at the pool today if the weather lets you get there! Fingers crossed....

BBL....

Yep, I definitely owe you one this morning, Chris!! Oh, you leave Tuesday..... good, because we miss you when you're gone. :D Gosh it sounds like a fun trip! Jam packed, and no, I don't think it's like supervising preschoolers, but.... it may feel more torturous at times!! ;)

Oh man I'd be worried about that loot he took with him today, too.... not to make you worry anymore, but..... I'm a worry wart! I hope all goes well and he has a great day.

Hey Chris: Yes, I agree that being a chaperone is a BIG responsibility. It sounds like a fun trip and I will pray for you that everything goes well.Oh and Vic and I went on that dinner cruise on the Potomac. It is wonderful. You get to see alot of the DC sights. I think the group will like that alot. You will be exhausted when you get back. It has been so hot lately. The heat and being on the go will wear you out. Hope you enjoy DC.Vic is taking his baseball team to the youth day at the Washington National game on Saturday. But, Lauren and I are staying home. That stadium is in DC. Don't know if it will be close to any attractions you will see. It is a really nice stadium. We are hoping to get some tickets to tour the white house soon. A friend of ours works in the white house and keeps tell us he will get them. We need to get on him again for those tickets. Lasst year we got tickets for the National Monument. That was cool. You have to get in line REALLY early for the free tickets they hand out daily... Hope the six flags trip is fun and everything goes well with nothing lost..I know Vic would have forced our kids to bring the backpack. I would be frantic all day until he got back. Hugs to you...I do have some slight DOMS. Mainly in my back muscles. I do feel like the other muscles worked. But, they are not aching with major DOMS.

Hey Beth: I missed you while I was typing away to Chris...Wow, great workout. I don't think I would be able to do a workout like that so early in the morning. I do alot better late morning early afternoon. Once my body has had time to wake up and loosen up or whatever..Oh and Vic and I are BIG worry worts...Vic more then me. But, we would be crazy all day if the kids were gone like that.

Hi ladies!!

Hottie, enjoying those cupcakes?? ;) That's really impressive that you trained Evee to do all that by yourself. Yes, treats are very motivating! Wow, sounds like great new furniture. It's always fun getting new stuff!

Chris, wow, what a whirlwind that trip sounds like! I'd be nervous about chaperoning teenagers, too, but at least you don't have to worry about stuff like if they can go potty by themselves! ;) I remember chaperoning a preschool trip to the zoo. That was interesting! You just have to worry about whether they are going to sneak off and make out. Ha - Just kidding! It sounds like you'll get to see lots of cool stuff. Jameson survived his trip to Great America (same as 6 Flags, I think) last week with his phone and ipod touch. I made sure he had pockets that buttoned. Don't know why he needed the ipod.

Kathy, you do always make time for your workout! You're so good about that. Have to make time for ourselves! I forgot you were close to DC. It really is a great place. DH and I went about six years ago for a wedding. I'd love to take the kids back sometime.

Beth, wow, that workouts sounds brutal! So what are you and Chris drinking this morning?? I'm jealous!

We finally decided on Jameson's grad party date. It's the 26th - gives me some time to get the house in shape. He's handing out 26 invitations at school today. :0 What am I going to do with all these teenagers? I guess they will entertain themselves. Then we have family and some other friends to invite. I will be praying a novena every night till then that it does not rain that day cause I don't know what we'd do with all those people in our house!

Oh yea, workout was Insanity - Cardio Power and Resistance. I'm doing another 5K this weekend, so I need to get a run in sometime before Sunday.

Have a great day all....

Joanne

Hey Joanne: I bet Jamson is excited about his Grad party...Is he going into 8th grade or 9th? I think at that age they do their own thing as far as entertainment. Lauren thought of all her own games/activities for her birthday party. Yes, we are really close to DC. I love being able to do field trips to all the cool stuff that is there like museums and monuments. How exciting you are doing a 5K!! I would love to do one. I have been trying to encourage Lauren to do when with me. I am going to have to look into it and give it a try...Good luck!!

Ok, just finished up with Rhythmic Step. Now it is time to get some lunch. It is still beautiful out with lots of sunshine. So, the pool is looking good. It doesn't open until 3pm until school lets out. The kids are dissapointed about that. But, I can't do anything about the schedules...

Talk to you later..

Good almost afternoon for me...

Ok, day 3 of my STS rotation is done! I feel good! well, I woke up early with Joe yesterday and we both were like...umm...yeah, let's sleep in. My calves are talking to me from yesterday's HiiT workout (40/20). I really need to try and stretch them out. But I did STS Disc 2 - back and triceps. Here's what I learned -- I've lost a ton of strength in my triceps! Back not so much...except I still can't do chinups or pulls up right on my cathe tower. I'll have to practice form over the weekend. I wanted to warm up a little more since I'm still feeling Disc 1 so instead of doing the STS warmup I tried to do the 20 minute workout from Turbojam since my friend just gave that to me. It was ok...but definitely not the kind of energy I feed off of. Cathe has spoiled me. I only did ten minutes of it and then went into STS.

Kathy -- man we go all the time without milk. Honestly, with the two of us sometimes I wonder if its worth getting the gallon. I splurged this weekend and bought us the best organic milk I've ever tasted so that'll probably only last a couple days. The pool! That might be where we'll go this weekend...supposed to get into the 90s.

Chris -- that trip sounds like a whirlwind! How old are the kids? I don't remember the chaperones being "around" after a certain point actually. but I only went on the field trip for the nerdy kids so maybe they just trusted us. I hope he comes back with all the expensive gear. If it makes you feel better, I don't let Joe take expensive things unless he NEEDS them (like his phone) to things like that. But Joe *knows* he'll lose them so he doesn't argue with me (too much). As for the therapist -- mine at least helps me with most of the things that stress me out and it's usually, you're stressing about it but you don't tend to make bad decisions. I know with Joe's guy there's like this big picture, inner self realization stuff...I don't think I could handle that. But I'm glad I have who I do.

Beth -- that workout sounds insane!! Do you have your computer hooked up a large monitor or are you just taking it off the computer?

Joanne -- grad party! how cute! Are they all boys? If so, then let them play out in the rain! Seriously, at one point, it's all about the Xbox and the latest fighting game. I never get all you 5Kers in the summer. i'm all like, do it when its chilly! Not when it's hot! One day, ONE day I'll do a 5K. And hey, maybe a bug will bite me into doing it more.

It's wednesday...which means togos day. YAY!!!!!

I guess since it was so early, we were drinking mimosas instead of beer! Join us next time! :D

I want to do my annual 5k in July but not sure I'll even be there. I'm really getting depressed about my mom again. She's just not doing very well, even though she's home and sounds good and all. Ug.

Hottie, for those workouts, I just copy them down onto paper with the best descriptions I can (she does have a short video to demonstrate for each, but it's not enough that you can follow along for the workout). On my tv, I have some music videos going. :)

Good luck with that graduation party, Joanne! That's a lot of 'em! We have 5th grade graduation next Thursday. There is a party across the street from the school immediately after the morning graduation, and then when the other kids let out of school we are all headed to the beach for a party. That group will then dwindle down to a smaller subset of us, about four or five families, I think, who will spend the night on the beach. Crazy! 5th grade!! Ah well, it only happens for them once I guess. I think even that'll be a tear jerker for us, and I have front row seats (a bid won at the fund raiser!).

I FINALLY got our taxes done! Well, all info to the accountants. Let's hope I don't owe any more damn money.

Kathy, Jameson is going into 9th grade - first year of high school. Our pool opens this weekend, but don't know if we'll have time to make it there. Maybe in the evening.

Hottie, good going on the STS rotation! You're doing the shock cardio/STS rotation? Good stuff! Jameson invited a mix of boys and girls, probably more girls than boys, though! He went to his 8th grade dance Friday night. Wow, the girls had some fancy dresses! All looked very cute, though. He went out to eat afterwards - I found out later that it was seven girls and him!! Actually, I think a couple of his guy friends were supposed to go, but couldn't make it at the last minute. Usually it's not too hot here in late May, but Monday was brutal with the humidity. Me and Jameson had ice packs on our head afterwards. It sounds like it should be cooler for the one this weekend. It's for the children's hospital - so I can't not do that one.

((Beth)) about your mom. Hang in there. I know it's tough - must be harder to not be there, too. We don't do a graduation for 5th grade. I was just talking to Colin about that this morning. He's "graduating" from the grade school and will be going to 6th grade at the middle school next year. But there's no ceremony or anything. They do have an extra field day type thing for them and the usual awards ceremony, but that's it. Your plans sound fun! Do you spend the night on the beach?? We were talking about Jameson's graduation and Colin said, "you know - I'm graduating from Hannum". I felt kind of bad, like he felt overlooked or something. Also, we only get four tickets for Jameson's graduation, so me, DH and the two grandma's are going. Not bringing the kids. I thought they might get bored, but now I'm rethinking it. Except, it's not like I can uninvite the grandmas! Afterwards, there is a party at a VFW hall with pizza and some of the kids have a band, so they are going to play. Supposed to go till midnight. Should be fun for the graduates, but a long night for us old people! And, yes, I have to work tomorrow!
