Good morning ladies...

Getting us started today...

My workout scheduled is going to be Body Max...Not an all time fav. But, it is a good tough workout that leaves me feeling accomplished...

We plan on going to the library today and skipping the pool. Chris has a baseball game tonight and the pool/sun we tire him out and he won't have anything left for the game...

Ok, time to get some breakfast and start the day!!

I need to have some time later and catch up with yesterday's posts. It's been very busy here!

Quickie right now, I have a TON to do! Shopping for the DC trip, grocery shopping and library. AND Zach has a bb game tonight (if it doesn't storm). Tomorrow we're celebrating Greg's birthday (it's saturday) and I have to pick up a cake and make him glumpki's (AGAIN! ACK!). AND I have to go see a little play that Jake's class is putting on at 2pm!

So right now I'm figuring out what leg workout to do. I think something from Butts and Gutts. Perhaps the all floor premix....

BBL and I will catch up with you all!

Good morning! Kathy, good luck with baseball tonight! Hope it's a good game.

Chris, we are all dying to know -- at least I am! -- did all of the equipment survive the trip yesterday? Let's hope! Happy Birthday to Greg!

From yesterday, yes, Joanne, we will spend the night at the beach graduation night, and it's a worknight for us, theoretically, too. Larry will be late the next day. It does seem a little crazy for 5th grade, but it is a sort of sad situation on your end. Maybe you could do a little something just for him to make him feel like it was special.

I needed a less intense workout today, so I did the firm calorie killer. It was not a calorie killer, but it fit the bill for what I needed.

It's my crazy day -- helping at the school, going to work, then back for piano lessons. I'm making Dylan go to piano lessons rather than a birthday party at a laser tag place that he was invited to, so it's going to be pretty unpleasant! I just had no way of getting him there and I was worried about asking someone else to take him because I think he would not like it and then be stuck there. Plus we're missing next week's lesson for graduation.

Chris, I hope all of the DC prep goes well today!

Hottie! How's STS?

Yes, Chris. I want to know too. Did everything make it home? Wow, that is a busy day!! Happy Birthday to Greg!!

Good luck to Zach at his baseball game tonight. We will be doing that too if it doesn't storm. There is a chance here too.

Beth: I like Calorie Killer too. BUt, I agree after finding Cathe's workouts. FIRM just isn't advanced enough. Sometimes I go back to them for a light day. Lauren uses some of them too. Thanks. I hope the baseball game is a good one too. The team has not being playing too well lately.

Hi Joanne and Hottie

ok, time to get that workout done

Finished Butts & Guts premix of Leg Floorwork and Abs. Holy bejeesus! She repeats the "on all 4's" group 2 TIMES with this premix!!! You know, the straight leg presses, the pizza presses, the modified hydrants.etc etc! OUCH! I swear my ass should be the size of a grape right now after all the buttwork I've been doing.

Oh yes, We REALLY lucked out yesterday for 6 Flags. The water park was closed!!!! That was our only saving grace. So no getting wet, no having "someone hold my stuff". He did pretty good, actually. Zach is notoriously afraid of heights and has NEVER gone on big amusement park rides. He went on 2 ROLLER COASTERS yesterday (One, called the "Bizarro") !! I'm pretty impressed!

Hey I made that "Amazingly Creamy Pumpkin Penne" yesterday for supper. It was pretty good! The boys had chicken nuggets (Perdue, easy, just microwave them) and greg and I had the pasta.

Kathy: OH MY on the original BM. YES! BM. I'm calling it that! LOL! I know , you do get a huge sense of accomplishment doing it. ... It is so muggy out here, right now, I know it's going to storm.

Beth:
glad you found a good workout for today! it does sound crazy there. I totally understand dealing with the 'attitude' when having them miss out on a fun even (laser tag party). It does suck. .. Sorry to hear about your mom too. :( I can only imagine how heavy that weighs on your mind. ((hugs)).

quick wave to Joanne and Hottie!
I'll BB!

I better run.. Ugh! Hate "running"!!! You know what I mean!

Hi all! Graduation was really nice last night. Some of the kids read some essays they wrote and there were some nice (short!) speeches! I didn't get too many good pictures, though. Poor Jameson was crying at the end - all his friends were in tears. He really made some good friends this year and all but one is going to a different high school. Hopefully they'll keep in touch. Then we went to a party afterwards that one of the moms put together. The band of 8th graders was really good. It was funny - they were doing songs we listened to when we were growing up - Journey, Beatles. DH insisted on taking me home after only about a half hour cause I had to work today.

Chris, busy day again, huh? Don't you usually make Greg brownies with candy in the center for his birthday?? Wow, we've been "together" on this check-in for a long time if I'm remembering that!

Kathy, does Lauren workout to your DVDs? That's cool! Caitlyn keeps asking me to wake her up to work out with me. She has little pink weights and DH bought her a workout outfit. She loves the stability ball, too, of course.

Beth, good luck with the piano lesson/b'day party discussion! I know that wouldn't go over too well at our house!

Sounds like everyone is super busy today -- Hottie, come and chat with me!! ;)

No workout yet. Am thinking about running on the treadmill during lunch.

Chris - drinks on me!! :) :) LOL at your comment about your butt being the size of a grape! Oh - I hate that floor work and B&G! It's brutal - but twice?? Yikes!

Chris, that premix sounds brutal.... I'll have to try it sometime! :D I printed out that pasta recipe too -- it sounds good, and Larry loves his pasta. I was wondering if I could get the kids to try it. They usually eat noodles with butter and cheese when I make any kind of pasta for us. Their favorite.

Too funny about the grape!! So glad everything made it home ok and he had a good time on the coasters.

Joanne, I forgot that your graduation was yesterday! I don't know how I could forget. Sounds like a good time.

My kids occasionally ask me to wake them up to work out with them, but I never do and they don't seem to miss it. :D Dylan woke up about an hour early this morning because.... get this.... Larry taught him how to use the sewing machine yesterday and he is like Edward Sewing Machine Hands. Can't get enough of it. He's already gone through one whole pair of Larry's old jeans and is now on some other scrap fabric he made me find this morning.

To work!

Well, Joanne -- if you ask I shall answer. ;)

Ok, I'm beginning to think this Shock Cardio + STS is working really great right now. I'll let you know as I get through the program, but I'm beginning to see how the whole rotation works. Like I was thinking, how the hell am I going to get up early and do cardio when I feel this way but I had MMA Boxing which is MUCH harder at 6a but I could do it! It totally fit the bill -- not exactly a day for BM2 you know? Don't know if I believe that MMA Boxing has a higher Met value than athletic step like the workout manager says but eh. I had some problem with my feet during the leg blitzs because of my whole poor circulation and stupid feet syndrome (SFS -- yes I made it up) but did it mostly all. Couldn't do all the core work and felt bad about it but then I said, hey, I used to not be able to do anything so I patted myself on the back. Showered and got on the freeway by 730 to only be stuck in traffic for 30+ minutes to get to joe's workplace (7mi from my house) and then another 15-20 to my workplace because they closed off my ramp (3 mi from Joe's place but usually traffic clears at that point and I've been able to park in under 5 because we both work right next to freeway exits/entrances and my car can speed up to 80 VERY quickly). Started the next part of this experiment that I really hopes work. (If it does it would propel my thesis forward...) And then I did some other stuff and now I can't believe it's already 10. Oh well.

Kathy -- I don't have the original BM but BM2 is hard! I feel uber accomplished too after that workout. You know really worked it!

Chris -- I think i'm the opposite of you -- I feel like I keep getting stuck at places and there's always stuff someplace I need to run to! Like, I don't know how, but the house is a big clutterness again. And we're clearing out the dining room for the dining room furniture which is basically evee's room and that takes effort (she's also greatly confused to why we're screwing around with her room). We're going to try and wax the floors before the furniture comes (hopefully Saturday!) so that's more but in the meantime more crap is getting thrown here or there. And then when I'm at home all I keep on thinking is how to schedule my lab work. I shoulda done my thesis on cloning myself. My butt is like a grape...just 15 pounds of them. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG!

Beth -- I wanna go to the laser tag party! I'll go instead! I guess you go to them for the music lessons. I did the same when I was a kid, but my friends had their instructors come to them. I want the same for my nieces so my sister doesn't have to worry about another thing but its getting rarer even with more pay. I have so many things Dylan can alter for me if he wants! I still don't have a sewing machine...its bad but most of it comes from I don't want to do this traditional woman thing. And the fact that I feel like I do everything and I'm a bit tired of it. Can you believe my coworkers didn't believe me that I showed joe how to change the oil in our car? And a plethora of other things, but I dunno...if i'm stuck doing all the "man" things I figure Joe could do a couple "woman" things. Oh and I think I figured out the attic fan thing...

Joanne -- so am I chatty enough? The grad party sounds cool. But so opposite of mine! I hated middle school so much I just wanted it over. Maybe its nicer for boys? That's really cute that your children want to work out with you. i don't think I could work out with my mother right there. When I tried to as a kid she just would call out when I got a step wrong (or anything wrong) and it just was really jarring. It actually put me off from home workouts because of that! Can't screw up an elliptical...

Ok, I chatted enough for now...now for boring lab work. bbl...

Chris: I saw that recipe and was interested in trying. I am going to have to make something else for the kids too. I don't think they would eat that. I made tuna casserole the other night. Lauren loved it and Chris was complaining about having to eat it. Good job on B&G premix. That is a tough one. Oh I forgot to mention that I finally used my new firewalker loops last week when I did Drill Max. I think that was the workout. I loved them. I used the heavy bands and they were great!! My kids don't like the big roller coaster rides either. Glad nothing was lost.

Joanne: Yes, Lauren likes to use the older classic FIRMs. I had her doing some of Cathe's workouts. The ones that were just weights. But, I thought I would give her a break and start her with the FIRMs like I did. I am not interested in working out at the same time as her though. She distracts me too much with her chatting. I like to get into the workout zone...Too bad Jameson's friends won't be joining him at the same school. Hopefully they were stay in touch..

Beth: What great news that Dylan likes sewing! That will come in handy when he is older on his own! I don't workout with the kids either as my main workout. I just don't concentrate as much with them in the room. So, I will do extra with them or make sure they get it done. Lauren is really fighting us lately on workout time. We keep telling her how important it is for a healthy body. She has been putting on a little weight in the last couple of years and I don't want it to get out of control. Chris will go outside on his own and run around the backyard and he plays baseball. So, I don't concentrate on him as much as her.

Hottie: How great that you are seeing results! I haven't done STS and the shock cardio together yet. I will have to do that soon though and see..I agree. An easier workout is always hard at 6am!! Any workout is tough in my opinion that early. I am the type that needs to be up for a while before I am really got the most out of my workout. I agree BM2 is tougher then BM. But, I guess it depends on the kind of day you are having. There have been days that I have done BM without enough energy and it seemed harder then BM2..Today it was ok. Glad I am done...

Ok, time to get some laundry done before the baseball game..Talk to you later!!

Reporting back in with treadmill run done....and then sabotaged with Graeters chocolate chocolate chip ice cream sent to us from a colleague in Cincinnati. ;) Why did I have to eat it? But, oh, it was gooood! The bad part is we have about 10 more pints in the freezer here.

Chris, I meant to comment that Jameson was afraid of amusement park rides too. I think he was really nervous about going on them when they went to Great America. You know, peer pressure and all that. But, he said he did go on some of the roller coasters and liked them. Great news the Zach came home with all his gadgets!!

Beth, I would love to have someone in the house who can sew - cause I sure as hell can't!! I'm so bad with all that woman stuff, as Hottie says! ;) Good for Dylan! Actually Ian likes to sew - we don't have a sewing machine, but he loves to play around with the sewing kit and repair stuffed animals.

I admit - I haven't woken up Caitlyn to work out with me cause she'd be a distraction! She'd get bored in 10 minutes and demand to be fed! I figure I'll do something with her on a weekend when I've already worked out. I think I actually have a kids workout DVD somewhere in my piles of DVDs!

Hottie, yes, keep chatting - love it! Actually the shock cardios aren't all that tough, especially the MMA ones. So, I think it's a good balance when doing STS. Just think how accomplished you'll feel when finished. You finished an STS rotation before, didn't you? I finished one, but didn't like Meso 3, so I don't think I'd do that part again. I'm amazed you showed Joe how to change the oil, too! I know there were some kids that hated the middle school experience. I didn't have the greatest grade school or high school experiences, so I know what you mean. I'm thankful my kids seem to be the opposite of me and are really fitting in and enjoying school. I did flourish in college, though. ;) Ian's been kind of depressed the last week or so - he really likes school - mostly the social aspect of it. I told him he can have a party later in the summer and invite his school friends.

Kathy, I think Jameson will stay in touch with his friends. A lot of them live close by, and, of course, they are all on FB. One of his best friends is moving to Miami. I told him to be sure to stay in touch so he can go visit! Does Lauren like bike riding or even running? For now, my kids seem to get enough exercise from sports (at least Jameson and Colin) and just running around. But I think it's great to get them into a regular exercise routine and instill how important it is at a young age.

I was thinking of getting some type of inflatable for Jameson's grad party at our house. Not a bouncy house, but do you think 13-14 year olds would like the jousting thing or maybe a huge slide thing?

Procrastinating enough...must do some more work!

Joanne

Hey Joanne: Yes, Lauren does ride her bike and I wouldn't say she loves to run. But, I get her out when I can. In the summer, the pool provides some exercise...Yum, ice cream is my BIGGGG weakness. I love it so. I would have eaten it too...I think the jousting or slide thing would be a big hit. It seems all ages love those things...

Hey Girls!

A few minutes before I start dinner...

I think I will just catch up with today! LOL!! You girls are chatty!! I like it!

Joanne: First of all, I love the fact that you have about every workout out there! Including a kids workout! LOL!. My boys are pretty physically active without working out. Though they'll get in these jags where they'll use my weights (esp Alex). For a few weeks Zach kept saying he was going to get up at 6AM (a half hour early) and go for a run. Good intentions, never happened . LOL!.... The graduation sounds so sweet. I have to tell you, I hate the end of the school year. I get SO meloncholy/sad about it all. I will miss the teachers and the "routine". OMG, next year I have to FACE CHANGE and deal with ZACH in HIGH SCHOOL! Meet a whole new nurse and deal with his diabetes stuff. Crap, I should call and arrange something with her, and let her know I'll have to see her early. ... That is too funny that Jameson and Zach had the same experience with big rides this year. I know for a fact it was peer pressure. Ok on rides, but it better NEVER be on DRUGS or ALCOHOL! ... And the VP said in the Chaperone meeting that we have to check the kids' luggage for drugs, alcohol, etc. I'm like , WHAT? They DRINK and/or SMOKE?? Nooooooo!!!!!...

Kathy: I should have had the kids try the pumpkin penne. But there was only enough for 2. I didn't think of it. It's not pumpkiny or cottage cheesey AT ALL. it's atotally different taste. ... I'm with you. Early morning workouts don't go so well with me either. I like mid morning ones!

Hottie: You are making me want to do an STS/Shock Cardio rotation now! I'm really thinking of maybe doing that or P90X after the DC trip. I'm very curious about P90X. But then again, I am LOVING my leg rotation, and even though my ass is still a kowabunga (what is that word? LOL), I feel like it's a TONER kowabunga! .

Beth: OMG, that is awesome that Dylan likes the sewing machine! It is actually pretty cool. I 'm more like Joanne in that I don't "do woman stuff" so great. I don't even have curtains on my windows. Just plain off white blinds! All my walls are off white too. I NEVER iron (though I do own one). I sew with a needle and thread occasionally , if I have to.

better start dinner....

OMG - I'm running off to the train, but had to tell you, Chris, that, I, too, have only plain white blinds on most of my windows! ;)

Joanne -- could you please one day deliver some of that ice cream? It's hot outside! I just went on a 1.5 mile search in the sun for a fabled farmers market. I had to come back to do the next part of my experiment.

Kathy -- well, I'm only in the first couple days but I now see how Shock Cardio complements STS. I hope the combination of the two will shrink the 2 inches that have managed to creep up around my waist by the end of the summer...

I just found that the lakers are playing at the Staples center tonight! Joe and I just juggled a bunch of things in the afternoon so that we can leave before the traffic starts slamming us. Now i don't want to do anything...

OMG, JOANNE!! LOL!!! @ the blinds/no curtains!!

Hottie: Oh yes, I could really go for that ice cream right now too! Is MA on the way to CA? ;) ... Oh traffic smaffic. Hate it! In MY town they are digging up the roads and replacing pipes. It's HORRIBLE. And they're doing the same in Springfield where I work! In fact last weekend my entrance RAMP was CLOSED! Meaning I had to drive down the scariest street in Springfield. People all over the sidewalks and roads like it's a party, but they carry guns and knifes and are all mean looking.

1.gif

Chris -- it was a problem before 5p! The game started at 6. Ugh...I just don't like being around lakers fans. Seriously, they riot when they WIN.

Ok, you know all those good things I've been saying about STS. Why didn't anyone remind me that friday was legs day?
