July Road Trippers Check-In Monday 6/23

Good Morning July RTers!

Thought it might be fun to have a daily check-in so we could get to know each other before the RT. Hope someone else didn't already start one. I didn't see anything.

Today I ran 3 miles (my usual MWF run) and then did CK.
Is anyone increasing their cardio to prepare for the RT?

**Are there any talented people in our group planning entertaining us?** Not me!! No talent here to share.:)

Hi Gin~

I think a daily check-in is a great idea! I fully intended to get up early this morning and do legs, but that didn't happen. So it will happen this evening. Hopefully. Unless life gets in the way.

So, you do a 3 mile run MWF in addition to another full workout? Wow!

ETA - there's no way I'm getting up and doing anything! I don't really have any talents anyway.

I have absolutely no talents to share at the RT. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Pretty depressing, huh?

This morning I got up and did iTread Run Intervals (60 minutes). I went a little longer and hit 70 minutes to get in 7 miles. It was tough!

I'm not upping my cardio or anything to prepare for the RT. Cathe takes it pretty easy on us (IMHO) compared to her normal dvd workouts. I'm really looking forward to it. Only 5 weeks left!

Liann--I did see that, but thought it was just an introduce-yourself-type thread.

Shelley--Evening exercise is really tough for me. Are you more of a nightime person? Yes, I run 3 miles on MWF with friends. We have been doing this for 10 years and I hate to give it up. But then if I have time, my first love is Cathe cardio so I'll add that. Call me CUCKOO!:eek: Of course, it doesn't make me lose any weight!!

Allison--I am not worried about you Miss Young Thing, being able to keep up with Cathe on the RT!
The last time I was in a talent show was in the 4th grade. It is quite a sad memory. Two of my friends and I got up on the stage in the auditorium and sang "Yesterday" by the Beatles. I'm pretty sure we were off key, but I did have a cute pink dress on!

Hi, everyone! Checking in to say "hi". I am learning the step routines from 4DS, in preparation for the roadtrip. I'm really enjoying them!!! I went on the roadtrip last year, as well.
Oh, and I am another talentless wonder,too!!! Well, if we had a chocolate eating contest, maybe I'd do well...

I did Pyramid Upper Body today, and took the weights up as high as I could, and found myself lowering them somewhat to maintain good form, to say I am a tad sore right now would be an understatement.

I am following Cathe's June rotation, and will be using her rotations from here on out, I am very happy with the June results!

I'm all for the idea of a daily check in until the RT as well!
 
Hey guys! I'm all IN for a daily check in from here to RT time!!!

This morning, 5am. Super Sets upper body blast, Push Pull chest & back segment, 100 push ups on my knees on an incline. Yeah, I'm HOPING for DOMS tomorrow.

Hey July RTers!! I like the daily check in too! I also check in with the clean eating bunch, but my eating has been anything but lately....

My workout this morning was LIC cardio blast premix. This week I am finishing out a few weeks of endurance lifting before back to heavy before the RT. I am planning a killer rotation starting next week.

Gin I am sooo jealous I wish I had a group of girls I could run with I try to get girlfriends to go bike riding, running to play tennis and I'm always hit with I can't because of the kids or my back or my arm every excuse under the sun so I always go alone I dont mind it so much but sometimes it's nice to have girlfrinds who are interested in the same things
 
Nancy, I'll be your partner for the chocolate eating contest. Since I'm pregnant we'll be sure to win!!!

I did Imax 3 with no blasts today and BM2 UB. Just got my 2 DDs to bed so now I'll do some Classical Stretch.
 
Question -- I am hoping enough people will see this tonight....

How many rest days should I take prior to the road trip? I am working on my rotation, and I am wondering if I should plan to rest the day or two before I come, or maybe rest a few days early in the week, then get back into some cardio towards the end of the week. For those who have been, what would you recommend??
