Jogglers November 2012

I did 20 minutes of yoga yesterday. I am dressed to do a HI Lo video with Petra Kolber called 'Rhythmic Power'. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning.

Back to work today...:(...at least it is half over as well as the week. :)

I am going for a run tonight - probably around 3 miles. I have a 10K race on Saturday.

Alisha ~ I hope the doctor gives you a good report. Hope you are feeling better!

Hi Tricia!

Alisha - How was your doctor's appointment? Also, what is the recipe for your pepper drink?

Jane - Hope you survived going back to work! It's been a really slow week for me.

No workouts this week, but had a lovely chat with one of my favorite raw food chefs this morning! She's in the UK and we talked about my difficulties with meal planning. She gave me some of her favorite quick recipes I can prepare the night before and throw in my dehydrator on a very low heat just so it's warm when I get home for lunch. That's my biggest problem this time of year! I want warm food. She's absolutely wonderful and she's a no-nonsense raw food chef. Her name is Rebecca Kane and she is Shine on Raw if you ever want to look her up online.

Okay, I'm going to try this photo thing again!

I went to the doctor today. My ears look good. She gave me an extra prescription of cephlax just in case it comes back. She also ordered a diabetes/blood glucose test. I have had a history of insulin resistance and type II is associated with these kinds of infections. I'm going to try to combat it with diet, exercise, yoga, and gymnema sylvestre. I don't want insulin, its terrible stuff. I am feeling ok. I just get tired. I wonder if its because the days are short or if its my infection, maybe its a bit of both.

I am enjoying my iphone. I'm using the Spark people app for logging my foods. I'm also using the alarm to help keep myself on track.

Tricia- the recipe for my pepper drink is 4 tbsp of lemon juice (usually about 1/2 a lemon) 1 tsp of raw honey, 1/4 tsp of black pepper, 1 cup of warm water. It is heated (I just warm it for 1 min. in the microwave.) Its an ayurvedic treatment for obesity. I don't know yet if it works, but I do know that its tasty and helps with constipation. I use the organic black pepper because of the sheer amount. You really want to melt the honey into the drink and stir it well. Its tart, not sweet, and a little spicy. Its great for colds because of the amount of vitamin C. Drink it first thing in the morning before breakfast on an empty stomach. It helps improve digestion. I will check out 'Shine on'.

Jane- I hope that your race is great!

Tricia ~ I'm glad you got to take to the raw food lady. It sounds like it was a great conversation and she gave you some good tips.

Your braid necklace is beautiful! I love the color combination.

This has been a slow week for me too. The last part of the month usually is.

Alisha ~ Sending your lots of {{{hugs}}} and healing energy. I hope you feel better soon!

I just got an iPhone too. It's the iPhone 4 because it was only 99 cents. So far I am loving it.

The pepper drink sounds good. I will have to try it. I already drink 1 lemon squeezed into water every day.

Well have to get to work. Have a great day!

Evening ladies!

Alisha - Thanks for the recipe! Hope this time your infection doesn't come back! I also hope you aren't having sugar issues! If you need it, I can get some raw food info for you as there are a number of raw foodies who were diabetic or borderline who are free and clear now.

Glad you both like your iPhones! We love ours!

Jane - Nice workout! good luck on your race tomorrow!

A bust of a week for me for workouts. I'm cold in the morning and I'm cold in the evening and I just want to get into warm fuzzies! Gotta get over that! I know I'll warm up after about 5 minutes into a workout, but I'm having a tough time getting into those little workout outfits! lol I don't like a lot of clothes covering during intense workouts like cardio and those interval ones. If it's just weights and abs, I have no problem throwing on my long workout pants (yoga) to do it.

Ah, well, it's going to be a long, fat winter if I don't get myself used to the cold and just do it! I'm starting to sound like a broken record, even to me! Sorry about that!

Thanks for the compliments on the braided necklace! Took me longer to figure out how to get those pics on here from my iPad than it took to make the necklace! lol

I did Kathy Smith's Body Basics this morning before breakfast :) I plan to do yoga with Desi this evening before bed. I will do something tomorrow. My ears look pretty good. I will go to the lab on Monday or Tuesday for my blood work.

duong- beat it. We don't know you. This is not your check in. Scram.

Tricia- I am very interested in the raw foodie information. The only thing I wouldn't give up is my warm lemon drink. I start my workouts in a warm hoody and about 5 minutes into it I strip it off. Don't worry: everybody is a broken record sometime. Those are beautiful braids.

Jane- Thank you for the healing energy. I hope that the race is awesome!! I think that a phone for 99 cents is great.

Its really raining out there. I did my weigh in and I did put on 5 pounds with my new birth control and the antibiotics. Bleh. Oh well. Whatever. I sent a message to my gyn to see if she can change my BC to one that doesn't cause weight gain. I am weighing my eats. I will do some yoga this evening.
