Welcome to a new month!

Having adjusted to my new job, I am ready to hunker down into clean eating, lots of cardio, strength training, and yoga. I'm focusing on weight loss again. Its inevitable. I've set my goal to be down 40 lbs by 9/1/12.

I did 20 min. of Kick Max yesterday and 10 min. of yoga. Today I did 40/20 HIIT and 25 min. of yoga. I don't know what I will do tomorrow because it depends on the weather. Its been very cold, windy, and rainy. I might stay inside and do Tracy's Omni (both strength/dance cardio.)

Tricia- I will be keeping your friend in my prayers, I hope that things go well.

Jane- Did you get a good workout today?

Glad to hear you're adjusting to working! you have a good plan! Thanks for the prayers! I hope she recovers well!

I'm just setting my goals to focusing on transitioning to high raw now that I have my nice blender and becoming more consistent with my workouts. I figure if I do that, the rest will follow!

TGIF!!!

I went running yesterday. It was 80 degrees!!! Everything is blooming here and I have yet to prune my crepe myrtles. We are expecting rain tomorrow (again :confused:) but after I workout tomorrow morning, I'm staying outside and getting it done. The rain is expected in the afternoon. Hopefully the rain will be gone by Sunday morning as I have a 11 mile run planned in the morning. My 1/2 marathon is only 2 weeks ago.

Alisha ~ I'm glad you're schedule is all set and you have a goal all set. You will do great and I love all the running events that you have schedule throughout the year as well. Those are great motivators.

I'm definitely doing Tracy's Omni today. Tomorrow will be

My Mom and I are going to the movies this afternoon to see 'The Lorax'. I love animated features.

I've been making sprouted wheat, natural pb, and banana sandwiches for work and they are so filling that I often don't get hungry until its almost dinner time. I am going to spend some of my day in the kitchen making blueberry applesauce. I have a bag of organic fuji apples and a frozen bag of blueberries. I love tart berries. I don't know why I don't care for them ripe. I've always liked tart things: lemons, tart oranges, granny smith apples.

Jane- 80 deg.???? OMG!:eek: I hope it is dry on Sunday for your run. Remind me: what part of the country are you in?

Tricia- I just listened to a revolution health podcast about goitergens and they said that you just have to get enough iodine to help offset them. I only mention it because people who juice cruciferous veggies get the most exposure, so be sure to get your seaweed when you can, it will make you thin;). I hope you don't mind the suggestion, I don't mean to sound like I'm telling you what to do.

What brand of blender did you get? I thought it was an actual vita mix. I'm thinking about getting a new one.

Evening ladies!

Alisha - hope you and your mom enjoyed the movie! Your sandwich sounds yummy! I can see how it would be very filling. I don't mind the suggestion at all. I'm not juicing yet, but will be making green smoothies with green leafiness mostly, but I do like seaweed and put it in my salads quite a bit. I should be good!

I did get a Vitamix and I absolutely love and think every kitchen should have one!

Jane - 80! A bit too warm for me! Give me mid-70s! Hope you were able to get your run done!

I made a menu for next week and did my shopping. I plan to. Start high raw this week with smoothies 3 days out of 5 until I finish off my oatmeal, then full week smoothies after that for breakfast and a variety of salads for lunch every day. Dinner will vary, but it'll be raw soups and wraps mostly with the occasional raw pizza (gourmet) meal on the weekends and some cooked dinners. Whew!

adjustments

I'm still learning Tracy's Omni cardio. As I mentioned before, she doesn't cue at all. Its kind of frustrating. I have to guess. The music is ok, but man, its really not for beginners.

I am going to do some yoga this evening. I plan to do C25k tomorrow. But, it looks like it might rain, so I might do a Cathe step workout.

Tricia- Those raw pizzas sound sooo good!!!

Jane- How was your run? Did it rain?

Happy Monday!

This weekend was a little crazy. On Saturday morning I got my workout in of mainly upper body work and cardio. I wanted to work out in the yard afterwards but it started to rain and then it just rained and rained and rained. We a couple of tense moments when we got reports of a tornado but thankfully that didn't happen. We got between 5-6 inches of rain on Saturday. My backyard was a swimming pool but thankfully when it stopped raining the swimming pool went away and there were just puddles in the low-lying areas.

It turned colder after the rain but I had a nice 11.18 mile run on Sunday morning. It was in the mid 40's but it was sunny and dry.

Here is my workout for tonight:

#1 - Reps of 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 of Swings and Pushups alternating

#2 - 25 seconds work/15 seconds rest - 3x of:
Deadlifts/Squat Thrusts
Slasher to Halo/Presses - 2 KBs
Triple Crush/Thrusters - 2KBs
Renegade Rows/Walkouts

Alisha ~ I live in South Georgia - near the Florida border. I hope you get your run in tomorrow.

Tricia ~ Have fun with your Vitamix. It is going to be in the 70's this week so it's a little cooler than last week.
 
Alisha - That would not be conducive to me getting any workout done if I had to work that hard to figure it out! I was supposed to run tonight, but came home instead. I've been getting lots of headaches. I'm guessing it's this crazy weather. Just didn't feel well enough even after some Tylenol.

Jane - That's a lot of rain! So glad you didn't get any tornadoes! Nice run and workout! I'd love to see the 70s. We're in the 30's today and tomorrow and it's cold! At least there's no snow!

Going to try again for my run tomorrow after work. I hope I don't get another headache. They're not really bad, just annoying as hell! More like sinus headaches than anything else.

Watching Adventures in Babysitting with my puppies all cuddled around me!

Got my Viognier wine kit today! Will start that one this coming weekend. It's a white wine, so won't need to age like the Cabernet Sauvignon. It'll be drinkable before the Cab is even ready to test! lol

I did Jillian Michael's 6 week six pack this morning. Then, I went to work and the store was really slow so I was given the day off :D I plan to put my feet up and watch tv. It was raining this morning, so no running just as of yet. Its really windy out there now. I'm going to do some yoga this afternoon. If the wind lets up I will go for a late afternoon run, if not, I will try to do it tomorrow.

Tricia- I hope your head is feeling better. People have been getting sick around here a lot. Your wine kit sounds like fun. You would love where I work, its a pup friendly store and we get to give out doggy treats!!!

Jane- I used to work in FL, I have some idea of what that would feel like. I'm glad that you didn't get a tornado.

Tricia ~ It's pollen-city here right now and my eyes are all itchy and watery. No headaches though. I usually get sinus/allergy issues which don't give my headaches just stuffy ears, drippy nose and itching eyes. Actually even though I fight it sometimes, working out actually makes me feel better temporarily at least.

Hi ladies!

Alisha - I want to come work with you, but I have to make a lot of money to support the two of us while Stephen's in school! I plan to quit once he starts, then, I'll look for something fun and part time after about 6 months of enjoying being a stay at home wife!

Jane - Excellent workout! Ugh - pollen. I think I get them when the weather is turning and it's made huge turns a lot this winter! I've been headache free since yesterday, so I took my run last night. Windy! Wow! Day 1, Week 1 of C25K again. Not very exciting, but I need to start at the beginning to be sure I won't kill myself once I hit the longer intervals.

Not sure if I'll take the night off or do something else in between runs. My brother got his P90X yesterday and he might start today, if he does, I'll join him!

It's a beautiful day outside! I will go for a 3 to 4 mile run after work.

Yay...for Tricia running yesterday. Great job! Hope you get to do P90x with your brother.

Hi Jane!

Had a good day today! Brother did his fit test today and he has one of the grand kids tonight, so we'll be starting on Saturday. Works out great so I can go run again tomorrow! Not as nice tomorrow, but still sunny.

I did get yesterday's run. I took today as a rest day. I plan on going for another run tomorrow. It looks like sunny clear skies all day.

Jane-I hope that you enjoy your run and that the pollen isn't too bad. The pollen is starting to act up around here.

Tricia-Well, as soon as Stephen gets a great job, we can play! Good on you for running!!! I also decided to start back at the beginning because its been too long since I was out and on the road. We can work the program together:)

Friday was a run. Today will be some yoga in the afternoon, after work.

Tricia-How did Brother do on his workout? What kind of program is he doing?

I wish my brother would workout, but he can't, he is on meds that raise his body temperature too dangerously.

Hi ladies!

Could have sworn I posted yesterday . . . Oh, we'll!

Alisha- that's a deal! Hopefully we'll end up someplace closer! At least I'll be able to travel! Let's keep the running going and by summer, we'll be ready for that half marathon . . . Or not! lol

Jane- great workout! My brother has had the grand kids, so no start yet with P90X. Soon!

I'm not worried since I am running. I did day 2 of c25k, but my program locked up and I have to get it up to speed to get me to day 3 for Monday! I was going to work out today, but ended up constructive in the kitchen and running errands. My alfalfa sprouts came out beautiful! I'm using mason jars now with screens to. Drain the water and that did the trick! They are bright and sweet! So happy! I also made almond milk and cashew creme, but messed up on the cashew creme because I put one cup instead of a half if water. Oops!

I have everything ready to go to start the Viognier tomorrow and some raw rye bread. Whew! I'm also making chia pudding to help fill me up in the mornings after my smoothies. That's about it! I think I did good!

Good Morning!

I dragged my butt out of bed and ran 12.18 miles. It was fantastic. My sister and I felt great and then we thought maybe we didn't run as long as we thought we did. I don't remember some parts of the course. Anyway....it felt really good although now I am a bit sore. I took yesterday as a rest day.

Next Sunday is our Florida Beach Half Marathon. I will be working out until Wednesday and then taking the rest of week off to rest up. I'm really looking forward to the race.

Tricia ~ Your meals sound really good.
