Jogglers December!!!!

The hot water heater is on the fritz:(. So, I'm taking an unexpected yoga day. bummer. This means I'm going to be uber good with my eats and weigh/low carb/be smart the whole day. Its a good thing I took a shower yesterday. Its just that I can't do a Low Max without having a shower max afterwards, or else its itch max.:p I will do Shiva Rae in the afternoon. In the morning, I'm going to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie, its 5$ Tuesdays at the movies! I will not be eating any popcorn or candy, tomorrow is a weigh in.

I have lots of good eats in the fridge, a pomegranate, kale, spinach, kidney beans (low salt), home cooked chicken drumsticks. I made those last night with lemon/lime juice, chipotle powder, garlic, and lots of black pepper. I'm going to stop at the grocery store after the movies as we are out of water, and I can go without many things, but water ain't one of them.

Jane- I haven't seen the Fannie Maes. I am glad that your ankle is better today.

Tricia- Did you get a workout today?

Alisha

Hi ladies!

Jane - I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself in that bathroom fall! Can't believe you fell again, too! What's going on? My brother had a foot mishap as well! Must be something in the air! Be careful and take care! Glad the party went well.

Alisha - Glad you're home and back with us again! Stinks about your water heater and what horrible timing! When do you get a replacement? Hopefully soon!

Well, my run sucked big time today. Even Peanut did better than I did, but I couldn't find my facemask and went out without it. It wasn't that cold, but my throat started hurting and burning almost right away. I barely made it a mile! I could have run further if the air hadn't been too cold for my throat and lungs. I was in pain when we got back for about 20 minutes before feeling better. Gotta find that darn facemask before tomorrow!

Yep, it's official, I am totally out of shape again. As much as I want to crawl into a hole and cry, feel sorry for myself, whine and pout, I refuse to do it! I brought this on myself and I know it. I'm just going to dust off and keep at it until I'm back where I was and maybe even better! It's going to take some time and some doing, but I'm up and at it!

Thank you two for always being here and being so supportive! I will make it with you by my side!

Have a fabulous evening and I'll chat with you tomorrow!

up all night, puking

Luckily, my flu bug was very short lived and relatively mild. Sadly, this totally mucks with my plans to run this morning. I always allow myself a rest day after being ill. Its the smart thing to do. There are advantages to living with my folks and my brother, my Dad stayed up all night taking care of me. I have a really nice Dad.:)

Anywhooo, my plan is to do a yoga this afternoon. I did Yoga Max yesterday with the balance options. It was fun. I will do Yoga Relax this afternoon. Tomorrow will be Low Max. Right now, its my favorite.

Tricia- The water heater is supposed to be replace on Monday. But, I made the darn thing work again. Its really on its last legs (you'd think it did a Cathe workout!). I would never run without protection from the wind, that would just be too hard for me, especially below freezing. Don't crawl into that hole! It is much harder to get out than it is to lose a few pounds! I will help. I promise! You can always get your support here, no matter what your size, or how hard the workouts are, or how slow your mile is.

Jane-How is that ankle?

Alisha

Alisha - {{{Hugs}}} Tough having the flu! Glad it went through quickly! What a really, REALLY nice dad! My husband would sleep through it! lol Smart to rest today! I totally agree with that strategy!

Stephen had to literally drag me out the door for another run today, but we went. My face mask was with the ski stuff in the basement. Smelled awful, but I used it anyway. Didn't want to hurt like yesterday! My Garmin died during the run, darn it! Guess I have to remember to turn off the GPS every day after each run. I know we did a bit over a mile today, but it was Peanut that pooped out first this time! Ha! Small steps! Hoping to get in a yoga later to stretch out some. I still have to bake cookies.

I did feel better once I got moving. I'm just tough to get going!

No worries about me crawling into my hole! That was the old me! The new me just tries to keep her focus forward and push towards improving! Thanks for being here!

Hi Jane! Hope you're having a decent work day!

I did not workout yesterday as promised. My ankle was ok but it was cloudy and yucky and if I can't give 100% why bother. I'm resting again today because I have to make the dough for Swedish Vanilla Cookies!! :)

I'm running tomorrow for sure. It's been warm here but cloudy and I hate the dark at night. Thank goodness the days will be getting longer now. Yay!

Tricia ~ Running in cold weather bothers my lungs, I end up coughing a lot afterwards. I'm not sure why but I just do. My sister experiences the same thing.

Great job on the running!! Don't think about the past just take one day at a time.

Alisha - So sorry about the water heater and the flu. It is always wise to take a rest day after being sick. You have a great dad!

Working is so quiet that I'm slowly going mad. How am I going to last another 2 days? I have stuff to do but nothing major that has to get done.

I did Low Max this morning after the power came back on. I plan to do Yoga Relax this afternoon. Tomorrow will probably be a joggle. I'm tucking into my computer to study MOS Excel stuff. Its sunny outside.

Jane- I hope that ankle is feeling better today. Those cookies sound great!

Tricia-What kind of cookies did you bake? Good job on your run!

Alisha

I'm going running tonight. The sun is out and it's about 80 degrees and breezy. Beautiful!!!

I made the dough for the cookies last night and I'll bake them tonight. It was the first time I used real vanilla beans in a recipe. The dough was good so hopefully the cookies will be too.

Alisha - I'm glad you got the power back on and did Low Max. Enjoy your joggle tomorrow.

Hi Tricia!

I'm all dressed to go for a joggle. Its sunny and in the 30s. I look like a Chipmunk because my glands are all swollen. After my joggle I will do stretch max with the stretchy band. Tomorrow will be Step Blast. We aren't doing any big event on Sunday morning, so I probably will go for a joggle on that day too.

Jane-How did the cookies come out? I have never used real vanilla beans in a cookie either, they always seem so expensive.

Tricia- Hi!

Alisha

Hi all,

I'm going to be busy the next couple of days so I don't know if I'll be able to check in every day so this is it.

8 1-Arm Sit ups
8 Back Rows

Christmas Eve workouts are going to be a doozy. I am doing 2 workouts to offset the damage that I will do with eating for the next 2 days.

Christmas Eve - Workout #1
400-Meter Intervals at the track
Runs 3 sets of 4x 400 meters for a total of 12 x 400 meters. Warm up jog of a 1 mile and easy 1 mile jog for cool down.

Christmas Eve - Workout #2
This is for Grind - not time
100 Reps of the following:
Ball Slams
Step Ups
Halos
KB Swing
Push Ups
Push Press
Squat Thrust
Sit up
Walking Lunges
Deadlifts

Christmas Eve in the afternoon - heading over to mom's. My sister and I are sleeping over. Mom and I are having Filet Mignon and my 2 sisters are having Corky's Ribs. We are also having a salad, homemade hash browns with bacon, rolls and Christmas cookies and candy.

Christmas day will also at mom's house trying to recover from Christmas Eve. Breakfast will be Cinnamon Roll Kringle (love this stuff). My sister is making French Onion Soup and we will probably have other stuff but nothing really healthy. Such is Christmas at our house. We haven't had a traditional Christmas dinner in 30 or more years.

After today, I am off until Wednesday.

What plans do you guys have for the holidays?

Tricia- Hi!

Alisha

We posted at the same time.

I'm sorry to hear about your swollen glands. Hope you feel better.

I didn't make the cookies yesterday, I ran out of time, so I am going to make them tonight. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Hi ladies! Didn't realize I missed yesterday!

Jane - Hope you've been able to get through these last couple of days without going mad! Great workout plan for the holidays! I've always wanted to use real vanilla beans, but so far, have only gotten around to using them in my perpetual vanilla! Love it! I never buy it at the store anymore!

I'm glad it's going to be getting light out again, too!

Hope your cookies come out wonderfully! Enjoy your holiday with your family! Who cares it's not healthy food! It's only once a year! Celebrate being together and have fun! It's just the two of us as usual. Nothing exciting.

Alisha - Nice work with LM and yoga the other day! I just ended up making Stephen some chocolate chip cookies. Hope you had a nice joggle yesterday!

We were almost at 60 degrees yesterday! Sheesh! We've just gotten back down in the 40s today. It rained last night so it's wet and cloudy today. Didn't run yesterday, but did Core Max 2 and Total Body Stretching and that felt good! Abs are sore today and I did a 30 minute flow yoga for beginners today. It still hurts, but at least I can do the moves! Going to try and stay with it at least 2-3 days a week. I know I need it! I want to get out and run again tomorrow and Sunday. Will have to get up early enough on Sunday because I'm making some homemade rolls and have to start those early if they're going to be ready for dinner! Don't know if that'll happen though.

Have a great Christmas Eve eve today!

I decided to take a Yoga day. I'm sore from yesterday. I've been increasing my mileage and I want to be able to run again tomorrow. Jingle run!

Yesterday, we went to see Tin Tin and then 'We bought a Zoo!" It was awesome! Both were great movies. Tin Tin was a lot like, and even better than, "Indiana Jones." Spielberg directed both, and John Williams wrote both scores. "We Bought a Zoo" was a bit more somber but it all works out in the end, even though its about this (true story) family that lost their mom, and work through that by changing their lives, and buying a small zoo. My Uncle Felix always sings "Happy Birthday to You, you live in a zoo, you look like it tooo, Happy Birthday to You." instead of the regular lyrics to the Happy Birthday song, it never occurred to me he was referring to real people!

Anywhoo,

Jane- My glands are still swollen. My nose is drippy. Its disgusting. Ewww! Your double workouts are insane!!!! I mean that in a good way;)

Tricia- Nummy! I like rolls! I hope those abs are better today. One of the reasons I like running is that it hits my abs at the same time.

Happy Happy Christmas Eve!!!!!:D:D:D

Alisha - I want to see We Bought a Zoo! It looks wonderful! I hope you'll be feeling better soon! Abs are better, but still a tad sore, which is okay! I do like that feeling after a run! Feel it so much in the obliques! Didn't work out today. Took time to make homemade belgian waffles, cranberry-raspberry sauce and my raw double fudge brownie cake that is probably going to be awful! It didn't come out quite right. Gotta get my practice!

Have a wonderful Christmas tomorrow Alisha and Jane!

Happy Christmas!!

Tricia- I always feel it in my obliques too! Those waffles sound yummy!

Jane- Tell me all about those goodies you had today.

I went for a 5 mile run/walk with lots of hills. Its time for me to invest in some body glide:eek:. It was sooo cold! Freezing. I did indulge in a couple of Christmas cookies and some dark See's Candies. I didn't get much under the tree because my Christmas this year was LIS. I did get a wonderful cook book, a calendar, and some beautiful ear rings. But, the present of all, is that my Aunt Laurie is feeling ok, and went home from the hospital today!!!!!:D:D:D:D

Merry Christmas!!!

Alisha

Hi!

I am back from all the feasting. I left all the goodies at mom's house. We'll finish them next weekend. I went for a 7 mile run this morning. I really needed it. Felt sluggish in the beginning but finished strong at the end.

Alisha ~ You really don't want me to list everything I ate do you? All I can say is Sees Candy first thing in the morning is a beautiful thing. All our cookies were good too! My sister's French Onion soup was out of the world. We had a great time too!! Card playing, puzzling, laughing, eating...what could be better!!

I'm so glad Aunt Laurie is better. What a fantastic Christmas present?

Tricia ~ How did the rolls turn out? And the Fudge Brownie Cake? They sound fantastic!!

I am just hanging around the house today. It's a gloomy day so far weather-wise.

Evening ladies!

Alisha - Sounds like a wonderful Christmas! Glad your aunt is home and doing well!

Jane - Your Christmas sounds fabulous as well! The rolls were perfect once I got them in a warm oven to rise. It was just too chilly here for them to rise on their own on top of the fridge. The cake - not so much. I'm unhappy that it didn't get creamy, especially the frosting. That was an issue with the fact that my avocado didn't ripen and get soft enough. Learn by doing I guess. It tastes pretty good though. Need to work on the raw desserts! Everything else came out fantastic.

Had a good day today! Slept late, had a light breakfast of egg whites and biscuits, went to see Sherlock Holmes, had a late lunch at Panera and finally watched The Hangover at home. Depressed now because I have to go back to work tomorrow. I really need to be a stay at home wife! I could be an awesome housewife if I could stay home! Someday . . . . maybe.

Tomorrow is back on the cleaner eats and regular workouts. I've slacked off these last few days. Stephen got me running snowshoes, so I guess I better get back to training again! I ordered 2 Ilaria kickbox workout DVDs with some of my Christmas money from my Dad. They looked really good! I'll let you know what I think. They should be here on the 29th, so I'll do them for my end of year workouts!

Can you believe we're less than a week away from 2012? Wow! It's going to be a great year! Right? Let's make it one!

My brother wants us to go to Tybee Island with him and the family this coming summer. I sure hope we can swing it! I may even be willing to give up the Cathe Road Trip, maybe. Have to see how things go.

Well, have a great night and I'll check in tomorrow! Hopefully, I'll have a workout done to report!

Its going to be a yoga relax day. Its ttotm and I'm tired. Tomorrow will be one of the LIS workouts, maybe the SG or the step workout. I haven't decided.

Tricia- I saw Sherlock too, I thought it was really entertaining but didn't seem to have a whole lot to do with the original books. I did enjoy seeing Stephen Fry as Mycroft, however I could have gone without seeing all of him.
This whole year turned into a get fat fest rather than get slim, so I'm with you on the clean eats front. That reminds me, I need to make a batch of quinoa and boil some eggs.

I can't believe I'm less than a week away from 2012!! OMG!!

Jane- No, not everything you ate, just highlights. That soup sounds wonderful.

We had a lovely roast beef and I made home made pizza with apple slices, tiny bits of low salt ham, and a slightly sweetened pizza sauce with a little spoonful of apricot jam (all fruit, no HFCS). The crust was home made and I split the pizza with my mom. We skipped the mozzarella because I forgot to buy it, so I substituted a few dots of cream cheese. The cheese browned nicely and caramelized. It was so nummy I didn't share with my brother! Its a good thing it was a small pizza.

I'm being much better behaved today. I have some cooked kale, roast chicken, and coconut oil chocolate to make.

Alisha - We shall venture forth into our clean eats together! I shall endeavor to do better with my workouts too! I never read all of the original books, so didn't really notice the differences. Your holiday eats sound wonderful!

It was back to work for me today. :(

Stephen still has a couple of weeks off. I ended up ordering 2 of Ilaria's kickbox workout DVDs. I'll let you know how they are. All of the reviews were outstanding.

Hi Jane! Hope your week is going well!

I am back to work today but luckily only a 3 day work week.

I got some sad news yesterday as one of our VP's passed away yesterday. I do work for his region and he used to work in our office. I received a gift card from him last week for Christmas, then found out the next day that he was in the hospital. I had a feeling that it was not going to end out well. We have had our problems in the past. He is the one that raked me over the coals 2 years ago and did not have a reputation of being the nicest person but he had his kind and generous moments. His wife is a sweetheart and I feel sadness for her. The office is really quiet today...only 4 people are here.

I took a rest day yesterday. I was running errands and ended up going out to dinner and didn't really eat healthy but it was worth it. It's the best restaurant around.

Here is my workout for tonight.
#1: 3 Rounds
Swing a heavy bell- 15 reps / 200m run
Swing a medium weight kettlebell -20 reps / 200m run
Swing a light kettlebell- 25 reps / 200m run
Workout #2: 30 sec work / 20 sec rest / 3 rounds
Clean & Press R/L
Squat
Farmers Walk
Row R/L
Russian Twist

Alisha ~ I love roast beef! Hope you got a good workout in today.

Tricia ~ I have one of Ilara's Kickbox workout but I don't know which one. She is fabulous. Hope your work week is moving along at a swift pace.

Jane - Sorry to hear about your boss! Glad the office is quiet though. No harm in enjoying yourself at a good restaurant! Great workout tonight! I need to copy this one into my other workout folder!

2 more work days to go this week! The office is talking about doing the Polar Plunge again this year on New Year's Day, but it's looking like it won't happen. Too many people may have other plans, so it wouldn't be quite as fun without the whole group. We shall see . . . If it happens, I'll go, but I doubt I'll go in this time. Once was enough for me!

I did Jari Love's Extremely Ripped 1000 tonight. Only one of the 30 minute workouts, plus abs and pushups. I'm looking forward to trying Ilaria's workouts! I've heard some good things about her and the reviews were great! I'm glad to know you like her workouts too!

Just got to get through this week and I'll be cleaning up my eats big time! Expecting to drop quite a few quick pounds in the first couple of weeks! Hopefully, anyway!

Hi Alisha! Hope all is well with you today!
