Jillybean-Musclebutt Mountain

Hi, Jillybean!

I don't think Clifton French Park charges for entrance for cars or for walk-ins (in fact I know they don't charge if you walk in) but I've never driven in there so I don't know.

You can check out the Hennepin County website (www.hennepin.mn.us) for information; I'm sure you can find it there.

You'll love Musclebutt Mountain! You can do as many or as few hikes up it as you feel you want, and vary that with downward and upward treks on less steep slopes. Plus, there's a fair amount of woodland fauna there - I've seen box turtles, lots of beautiful birds, and a few deer (not to mention gophers, squirrels and a big furry thing that looked like an overgrown woodchuck).

Have fun! Sorry I started a new thread on the topic!

RE: Annette-Musclebutt Mountain

Hi Annette,
I tried to go on this website to find out more info on Clifton French Park put didn't succeed (Maybe I am doing something wrong). Did the website address change? I would love to get more info on this Park. I have a friend coming in from Pittsburg tomorrow and maybe we could venture over there. Thanks.

RE: Joanne-Musclebutt Mountain

Hey Joanne! They changed how the Hennepin County website features the park section; here is the new website address:

www.threeriversparkdistrict.org

Select "Park Directory and Maps" from left-margin column;

Select "French Regional Park" from the park directory list;

That brings you to this park's site.

Hope this helps!

Had to giggle at the name of this thread. Is it really called Musclebutt Mountain? Thought this thread was referring to my 8 week goal for my shapeless tush. he he :)

RE: Briee-Musclebutt Mountain

Musclebutt Mountain is my name for a little bunny slope in a park near where I live, that is short but steep and is great for a walking interval workout. By the time you've gotten up the slope ONCE, you're gasping and your legs and butt are on fire. I discovered it a couple of summers ago when I was transitioning from an all-aqua workout schedule during the week, and I got to the point where I could power-walk it 17X before going back home.

Steep hill walking is awesome! My other name for Musclebutt Mountain is "God's Stairmaster".

Hi Annette,
Where I live in the UK, we have a lot of up hills/down hills. In fact I live at the top of a hill, and used to wish someone would flatten it ! But today, I decided, while clenching my buttocks and walking up this hill, pushing a pushchair, that this hill, known as Kirklington Road, will be my very own 'MUSCLEBUTT MOUNTAIN' courtesy of Annette.

Thankyou Annette, I look at Kirklington Road in a different way thanks to you, and hopefully, I may just be able to do those push ups like you some day, too !

Thanks for being a great role model !
