I have her Biggest Winner Front/Back and the 30 Day Shred. I dunno, I just am not a fan of her style. For cardio I think she's great but it seems like her strength segments are rushed and you don't get the benefits you should be since you really can't lift heavy with such quick reps, which also makes your form suffer a bit. Anyone else feel the same way?

Not to be a fan boy (or girl, hehe) but after I started doing Cathe's videos, I got spoiled - now I can't stand other instructors! I used to love Billy Blanks and while I still do like his stuff, his music is boring which makes me bored and reluctant to do Tae Bo anymore.

Unfortunately Cathe is THE standard and my ultimate go to workout. She just has it all covered has a wonderful personality on film, impeccable form and tips, and is just super motovational. I also love Jai (killer bod) Lorraine ( how she manages to smile through EVERYTHING is beyond me), Brenda (she is just so cute) and Cede (gotta love her). In my huge collection of fitness DVD's there is just no one that compares as for Tae Bo, . . I just can't stand the over zealous crowd chanting thing that and I hate it when Billy always puts his face smack dab right in front of the camera. It gets to be so annoying and I'm with you on the music I just can't stand it. I do love Michael Olajide, Tanja Djelevic and Elise Gulan. These instructors I feel have great personality and come in a solid second place to Cathe.

I love Cathe! I can't stress that enough. However, Jillian has opened up a whole new world for me! 30 Day Shred and No More Trouble Zones especially, have given me core definition and shoulder strength and definition like I've never had before. I love these workouts. They are tough and effective.

Let me tell you what.... using 5 lbs throughout both of these workouts will work you incredibly well. You'll never again think that the only way to get good defintion is by using heavy weights. Trust me!

I loathe, I repeat LOATHE Billy Blanks and that Tae Bo workout.

I've done a few of the Jillian Michaels workouts on On Demand and they aren't bad. The super intense all-cardio workout seriously had me sweating buckets.

I like her workouts. She mentioned on her radio show just this week, her workouts aren't meant for putting on mass. They are meant for leaning out, that's all, so don't expect to go heavy with them. I think they are nice change for cardio days.

i like her little "core power" plank circut on comcast on demand -- although i don't understand why they call it "4 minutes" when the circuit itself is only 1 1/2 minutes long. comcast counts the ads in the beginning - lame!

the plank circuit it great. you hold a normal plank for 5 seconds, turn into a side plank for 5 seconds, then turn onto your hands for a supine plank for 5 seconds, back to side plank for 5 seconds, back to normal plank for 5 seconds. i am doing this in the mornings and evenings every day, but i'm holding each plank for at least 20 seconds. it's a nice little routine and i like using it to wake up my core muscles when i first wake up in the mornings.

When I do Jillian's workouts I dont use them with the intent of building strength. I look at them as a cardio workout primarily with light weights to add to the intensity.

I love Cathe....but I love a lot of other instructors also. I'm easy to get along with and not much bothers me. I HAVE everything from Tae Bo to all of Jillian's.

Here's my 2 cents. Jillians original 2 are a bit rushed and I find I can't go heavy on them. I use them more for cardio/weight days after a heavy weight day (like Chalean does in Chalean Extreme).

However, her beginner workout is done slow enough that you can up your weight and make it challenging. I did a rotation of that one and that led to me doing her book rotation, which was extremely challenging. I LOVED it. She's not to be dismissed as a fluff instructor! I think she can work you.

I really like 30-day Shred a lot. I find I can go medium heavy on this and I always get sore. I do at least 2 or 3 segments back to back and I find it challeging enough. I would still use this as a cardio....light weight day and perhaps even do it after a heavier lifting day. I've sort of doing weight/cardio workouts back to back a lot lately to shake things up a bit.

I've only done her new one once and although, I didn't find it as challeging as 30-day Shred....it was okay. NMTZ's is a compound move workout that creates a burn with light weights. Reminds me of Jari Love's workout that utilizes compound moves....which the name escapes me.

I also love Tae Bo and Billy. He holds a special place in my heart and I could care less about his face being in the camera. He looks good and he's proud of it! What's wrong with that? I've found the Amped series to be exceptional as far as shaking things up with that 3 pound bar utilized in the kickboxing workouts. It really works you differently.

Thanks everyone!! I didn't think of doing 30 DS after a heavy lifting day, that's a great idea! I think I was looking at it from a "strength" point of view instead of cardio.

I'm gonna give it another shot! Thanks for saving another DVD from sitting there collecting dust :p

The only one of JM is Shred that I checked out from the library. I have mixed emotions about it ditto for Results in 10 with Cindy.
