Jillian Michaels Favorite Skin Care/Makeup

I picked up Jillian Michaels book, Master Your Metabolism. She talks a lot about organic products and not just in your food but all around you; cleaning products, skin care, lawn care, etc. She also lists her favorite skincare/makeup lines. I was wondering if any of you have tried these and/or would recommend them? They are: Dr. Hauschka, Renskincare, Nude Skin Care and Jason Cosmetics. I normally use (and like) Victoria Principal for moisturizer or straight grapeseed oil and a several different brands of make up (but try to stay as natural as possible). I'm always on the lookout for something new, healthy and useful :)

I do think it's worth getting. She goes into great detail about hormones and how to keep them balanced whether you're dealing with PMS or any phase of menopause. If anything reading this book made me realize that the cravings and triggers I experience are explainable and can be dealt with. A lot of the things she talks about I think we all know (starving triggers binges, etc.) but it's nice to read it and be able to understand it without a medical degree :). She goes into great detail about how the different chemicals in processed foods (and dishes, baby bottles, etc.) are affecting our metabolism and why she believes organic is best. She talks about portion control and has a two week food plan with recipes and a shopping list. She does contradict herself with the food plan because almost every meal contains some form of meat but then in the back of the book (last chapter I think) she says that if you can wean yourself off of meat, that's best. I thought it was odd that she says vegetarian is healthiest but pushes organic meats and lists them in her meal plan daily? I won't follow the meal plan because I am vegetarian (and am trying to go vegan) but I think the portions and carb/protein/fat ratios were interesting. I'm probably not doing the book justice (I read it quickly), but I will definitely keep this one in my library and probably reference it a lot. And as a fellow book purchasing enabler, I say go for it!
