Jari Love w/os

From the clips, the ripped workouts all look pretty similar. Are they? I'm wondering if her new unreleased workouts will be more of the same.

Anyone have any input on this?

Deana, I haven't done a Jari Love w/o yet, but recently acquired Slim and Lean and Ripped to the Core. From what I have heard, her first w/o Ripped is the easiest. Then S&L and RTC are harder. Apparently the workouts coming out in October/November are more advanced than S&L and RTC. Hopefully someone who knows more than me about this can confirm or give more info.

All of Jari's workouts are similar to Body Pump/Power Hour in that you do one body part per song.

"Ripped"is the easiest, and contains floor work for inner and outer thighs (miscounted sides).

"Slim and Lean" is a high rep (VERY high rep) workout. The first time I did it, it seemed soooo long, and I was about to throw in the towel half-way through the bench press segment. Second time was better.

"Get Ripped to the Core" uses compound moves (and is my favorite). It seems to go by much more quickly.

My body really likes the Jari Love workouts, Ripped to the Core and Slim and Lean. I have lost another 1/4 inch from my thighs by using these both of these workouts and Muscle Max in my rotation. It was about 8 weeks into the rotation when I noticed the change. I am going to give it another 4 weeks until I change my rotation.

Hi Candi - may I ask what's different about these workouts that you think made them successful for you? If I remember correctly you and I were in the same boat with freestyling - completely didn't work for us after a really committed effort (that was you right?) Have you changed your diet while doing the Jari Love's as well? Or do you think it was just something in her w/o's?

Hi Lorrie,

I'm not sure why these are working so well for me. I believe it's all the reps and a bit lighter weights. I don't use anything higher than a 24 lb weight load for legs in her workouts and as a matter of fact, I just raised to 24. I started with 16, then after about 4 weeks, went to 20 and now the 24. During my freestyle rotations, I did use lighter weights but didn't do nearly as many reps as are in her workouts.

I do prefer Ripped to the Core because the other can be a little monotonous but I always feel the pain the next day or two. The DOMS still continue even though I have been doing them for 8 weeks now.

As far as my diet, that really hasn't changed all that much. I did try a modified Eat to Live type diet but reverted back to where I'm eating approx 40/40/20 ratio.

HTH!

Thanks Candi - may have to look into these!

Lorrie,

It may also have to do with my change to three full body workouts a week with cardio on the alternate days. But, I do remember I did a rotation like that in the past with PH, MM and ME and not getting as dramatic a result. In Jari's workouts it seems like you are always using your legs for something.

I have not read any of the others responses. I am just going to give you my take on the work outs.

Ripped is an intermediate endurance work out.

Ripped to the Core is advanced and uses only compound exercises.

Slim and Lean is more or less an advanced version of Ripped but w/different exercises, etc.

They are all a bit similar just because there are only so many exercises you can do for one body part.

I love all 3 though. I intend to buy the new ones too. I heard some where that they are supposed to be tougher!}(

I recommend that you consider atleast Ripped to the Core and Slim and Lean! EXCELLENT work outs IMO! Ripped you may not want as it's a bit easier but it STILL works if you choose the proper weight!:)

Kali, If you don't love them, ***I'LL*** give you your money back! LOL ;)

I really like her workouts to add variety. They all seem to do different things. Slim and lean is a very high rep workout, but with lighter weights. That's the one my body really seems to respond to. Try them, they are fun.

I saw this post and I had to laugh..I have been thinking about these workouts as well.

I see that Blockbuster online has "Get Ripped" if anyone is interested in renting it.

I have also seen these workouts on Ebay for like $8.00-9.00..you can also buy them from Amazon.com for around $10.00 and they qualify for the free shipping if you purchase $25.00 in items.

What I like about Jari, she is very compatiable to Cathe, in that, if I need extra strength/weight workout, I can do Cathe Pure Strength or Pyramid and vice versa. I usually add light/short cardio vhds/dvd afterwards.

Well, I may be the sole detractor here, but I will give my opinion. :) I previewed "Get Ripped" and was not at all impressed. It was lonnnng and monotonous and I thought I might start throwing things at the TV. I did, however, read in many places that other people who agreed with this opinion (well, possibly not the throwing part) found the next two in the series more interesting and challenging, with "Ripped to the Core" being the toughest and best of the lot. So possibly it is best, if you want to try her out, and are intermediate/advanced, that you should go right for those last two and not bother with the original. I am personally waiting to see if they show up on Netflix in the next month or two...

If you try them out, let us know how you like the workouts!

Marie,

The original Ripped is certainly the last in the line as far as how good they are. I still personally like it but my fave is Slim and Lean. Ripped to the Core is fantastic but I have trouble finding the right weight due to the compound exercises and often have to either quit the u/b portion early or I let the l/b portion off too easy.

After purchasing and using the Slim Series by BB, I will NEVER find ANYTHING monotonous and boring like they are! UGH! LOL Ripped is sooo much better than SS IMO even though it is the "lame" one of the three. :)

I was at my local Ross yesterday and I saw all three Ripped DVDs for about $5.99 a piece. It's a great price if anyone is on the fence about trying these!

I just ordered Slim & Lean and Ripped to the Core. What kind of rotation are you that have had them been doing? I read on the yaya board that Jari recommends doing one for 20 workouts in a row every other day, then switching to the next one. That sounds like it would get really boring though.

I have all 3 work outs and have been doing each w/o one time per week along with cardio so my rotation looks like this:

1)cardio
2)cardio and Ripped to the Core
3)cardio
4)cardio and Ripped
5)cardio
6)cardio and Slim and Lean
7)rest

HTH!:)
