January 10 Check in Friday 8th*****

Kathy36

Cathlete
Good morning ladies...

We got a little bit of snow last night. Looks like maybe an inch...Glad it wasn't 18" like the last time!! Today's workout is going to be Intervalmax for me...I am feeling those DOMS I thought I would and still have some in the upper body. Although the upper body is getting better in the soreness aread... It should make doing Imax interesting!

Ok, going to get everyone up..Be back later!!

Good Morning Kathy and everyone!

Kathy: Haven't done IMAX in as long as I've not done the Pyramids! Should be fun! I always liked the simplicity of the moves in that one, and the jumping.

Hottie: Hope your commute went ok last night. I think if I expected that much traffic, I'd find some books on tape to play on my commutes. I can not STAND not doing anything in traffic. Would drive me bonkers!

So my workout peetered out this morning. I started to do KCM's 30 Minute Step Blast, and got about 20 minutes done, and then the phone rang, and it was a longer conversasion... so I lost "it". I just ended up stretching afterwards (did the long stretch that Cathe has on Athletic Step). I hope to add in 20 more minutes sometime in my day. But.. I have centers at Jake's classroom at 1p, and I have to get my shopping done, AND cleaning for the weekend. AND, I really wanted to get in my meditation. I didn't yesterday. And I *LIKE* to do it. So we'll see.... It is my recovery week, afterall.

Better get my butt moving here with my long list of stuff...

BBL!

Good morning and happy Friday! Or, OSIF -- whatever works. ;)

Kathy, I heard that the midwest and even to the east is going to get dumped on again -- is it still snowing? So nice to wake up and see that snow! I sort of miss those days, but only sort of. :)

Chris, sorry your workout got cut short -- hate it when that happens. I would vote for meditation over another workout -- it's cool that you like it and if so it's good to set up a pattern for it. And remember.... Jillian says it's the eating. ;)

Well, I did something this morning I don't think I've ever done in my life.... I stopped my workout to have a snack! I was doing meso 2 legs and I was so hungry I was feeling weak and shakey. I never had dinner last night because I had some sort of digestive upset. So, I stopped, mid-triset no less! -- and had some yogurt. Made it through. I think I'm going to be sore. I went light on legs in meso 1, but for this I jumped right back in with the weights I did the first time around -- which I suppose might have been a little light, but certainly a jump from a couple of weeks ago. I noticed on plie lunges I was using the same weight as Cedie. Everyone once in a while you get a glimpse -- it was 25 pounds, and I swear I thought I saw Cathe was using 40! 40! Could that be?! Whatever.....

I'm glad it's Friday!! I have to make Travis do his extra school work this weekend -- that's going to be interesting..... he's on a sort of roll and they have a meeting Monday so I want him to get a bunch checked off. I'm beginning to think he can really do it.

Hottie, do you want me to send you the rotation I decided on for my great in 8, which is really more like great in 10, because I worked things out up to the RT, I think.....

Joanne, how's Jillian this morning?

Chris: I try never to answer the phone during a workout. I am happy that I have caller id. I answer when it is Vic. But, I can cut him off and tell him I am working out. My family it is harder to do that with. Hope you are able to get something in. But, if you don't at least you got a little done! I need to clean too...

Beth: No, it isn't snowing this morning. The news said it was a quick moving system and we only got about an inch..I hope we don't get as much as we did in December again. That was too much. The kids enjoyed it though! I have had that weak feeling during a workout before too. Sometimes when I do a workout first thing in the morning. I don't eat anything and I get a little light headed. That is the main reason I like afternoon workouts. I am always trying to make out what weights the crew are using to compare. I usually get close to them. I try to match Cedie. Cathe's weights are sometimes to tough for me! I know Cathe uses some outrageous weights for chest flies in meso 3. I always think I will never get to match that!

Good morning!! Well, I took a break from Jillian today. My new TurboKick Vol. 4 came in the mail, so I did that. It was fun, but the music wasn't as loud or good on this one, so not as fun as the others. Still good, though. It could be the new DVD player in our room that I used. We got a cheapie for the bedroom, maybe that's why.

We got the snow here!! Probably a good 8-10 inches. DH was out snowblowing the block this morning. It's so funny, all the guys on the block try to get out there first to do everyone's houses. It's a good thing, but kind of funny. They all want to use their power tools!

Jameson has his cast on - it covers his whole hand with just his fingers sticking out. I signed it last night - he was too funny. He was so nervous about what I was going to write, cause of course, all his friends will see it. I threatened to write lots of embarassing things, but only wrote Mom with a heart. :)

Kathy, enjoy Imax! That's one I don't pull out too often. I have so many workouts, I forget what I have! I workout in the morning before any food, but I guess I'm just used to it. Although the very few times I've worked out after eating, I've noticed I have more energy.

Beth, can you send me the rotation you came up with? Yea, Cathe uses some outrageous weights sometimes. I'll never match her, but don't know if I want to!

Chris, that's the one thing I like about working out early in the morning, usually no interruptions. Except for kids waking up, but that doesn't happen too much anymore. I did get a phone call today, though, saying there was a late start cause of the snow. I'd say do your meditation instead of more cardio. It sounds like you'll burn plenty of calories with all you have to do today!

Have a good day all!

Joanne

Hey ...

taking a break after the grocery store, getting in some food before I head to Jake's Centers. It's funny, I hate thinking about working around that hour from 1p-2p on Fridays, but once I get there, i really enjoy being in the classroom. The kids are (usually) cute. Except once they had a substitute, and they were HOLY terrors!

Beth: Oh yeah, that was a LONG time you didn't eat! No wonder!! And STS Legs is not light stuff. It was good you got back to it. Cool you upped your weights and did ok! I never went wicked heavy on the leg stuff. NEVER 40 lbs! My shoulders would break off holding 40 lb weights in each arm!!! And you can always look at the guys in the back, you're ALWAYS lifting heavier than they are. I swear, sometimes they have 3-5 lb weights! Helloooo!?! .... LOVE you for reminding me what Jillian said. Whenever I feel like I have to push myself today to do that cardio, I'm going to think of that! Actually, if I have a few minutes , I might take a walk outside. That's kind of another goal I'm starting, to get outside more, even in winter, even if it's only for 10 minutes. ... HEY! Did you see I FB'd Lalo about Lalo 2, and he wrote back to me? Grunt grunt, breathe, breathe!!! ;)

Kathy: We're not getting the snow either (phsewww!). It's just a major PIA to deal with with the sitters and the weekend working, so for that I'm VERY much relieved. We have "mood" snow going today. Pretty, but not sticking. .... I have Caller ID too and use it when I work out. Unfortunately, it was Zach's school calling and I pretty much couldn't let THAT one go! LOL!. Come to find out, it was the VP who wanted to chat about the Washington DC trip in the Spring. And it was just long enough for me to cool down and not want to get back into it.

Joanne: So, the new TK *was* fun? Kind of like the one on the other DVD where the music was low but fun still? (I forget the numbering sequence). But the second one had much better sound and music.... LOL about writing on Jameson's cast. (it's his non dominant hand, right?). It'll be fun to see what the kids at school write.

better go get busy...

::yawn:: So remember the quietly livid the other night? I don't know why he wanted to go there again (RIGHT BEFORE I'M TRYING TO SLEEP) but this time I just couldn't stay quiet. So, not much sleep. I have to leave early to take Joe to the doctor so I'm hoping to try a new circuit workout. I would love to see that rotation Beth if you don't mind sending it my way. I really have to sit down and figure out my schedule for the next couple weeks before the RT! Oh, did you see how that thread turned yesterday? I was so happy when Cathe responded to me and then it just got nasty! i'm still convinced i've seen Lalo in Santa Monica...I keep on looking at his pic and I go I've seen him before! Anyway, I should get back to the other million things I have to do...(don't worry, I'll be back to chat...)

The Cathe thread got nasty? I'll have to go look. I read the beginning of it, but it was so boring I never went back. I definitely have to see the Lalo stufff on fb..... I didn't see it!

Shoot, I don't have the rotation with me, or I'd post it. I do remember that I'm doing meso 2 this week with some cardio added on one day. The cardio called for in "supersets" week (this week) is short but intense. Next week is circuits. Do you want me to post it here or send you email so you have it for "keeps"? If you want email, Joanne, I'm not sure I have your email address -- do I?

Chris, I love the "mood snow" expression. So what's happening with the DC trip? Will you be able to go? Travis will be going to science camp this year -- still haven't heard what week it is -- I guess they do a lottery with the schools (people hoping for no rain).

Oh, when I saw Cathe with a 40 pounder (I'm pretty sure), it was just one dumb bell for plies. You know where you set it down in the middle on your way down.

Gotta get some work done for a while!

Chris, yes, that's exactly how the TK was, fun like the other one, but music too low. I should try the second one - maybe it'll be better. Jameson's cast is on his dominant hand, his right hand. Which kind of stinks. But, he's adjusting. He takes his high school entrance exam tomorrow morning - but all he has to do is fill in little circles, so he should be OK.

Hottie, men can be such pains sometimes, can't they?? ;) Hope you worked it out. I didn't see that thread - I haven't been on any of the other forums - I'll go check it out.

Beth, you can post the rotation here or email, doesn't matter. I'll PM you my email address so you have it. Thanks!

Kind of hungry, but holding out on lunch for awhile. I find if I eat later, I snack less. I did OK yesterday - a little bit of sweets, but nothing crazy.

Yowza! I just saw the nastiness. I don't get it..... I don't mind that there's not a cool down..... I use that time to walk to get more ice water. But.... I find it really tacky of people to use this forum that is provide by Cathe and crew (and I know cannot be cheap to run) to be nasty with her.

When I'm back home I'll get that rotation to you guys.... actually, there's a chance it might not happen til tomorrow.... Joanne, I got your pm, thanks!

Beth: I agree about the nasty threads comment. I think the workouts are wonderful and she does a great job with them. The comments about the cool down and stuff are uncalled for and wrong...I try to stay away from those kind of threads. I don't post much on any thread but this one....

Ok, here's my rotation, and Hottie/Joanne, I can easily mail it to you if you want -- I have it in a file, but I thought others might want to see it.

Week 1 Supersets

Day 1 STS meso 2 legs
Day 2 STS meso 2 back & bi + 35 min. cardio (MMA fusion)
Day 3 45 min. cardio (I'm doing cardio coach) + yoga
Day 4 STS meso 2 chest/tri/shoulder
Day 5 HIIT (supposed to be 1.5:1 ratio, but I'll probably do 30:30)
Day 6 30 min. core + 30 min. steady state cardio (maybe IMAX 2 or 3 step only?)
Day 7 yoga

Week 2 Circuits

Day 1 Lalo 2
Day 2 cardio coach 1 hour
Day 3 Lauren Brooks kettlebell + yoga
Day 4 Tracie Long Step Forward (60 min. steady state cardio)
Day 5 KCM boot camp - both
Day 6 hmmm... just realized I have a short week here!)
Day 7 yoga

Week 3 Heavy - you could do meso 3 here, but they did have it set up as
a four day split, and because my injury occured when skipping to meso 3,
I'm paranoid about going that route so I'm using 4DS - except I am doing
plyo legs because I like it better and it brings in the cardio factor

Day 1 4DS back & bi + cardio
Day 2 STS meso 3 plyo legs
Day 3 4DS chest & tri
Day 4 30 min. 80% cardio - I'll do 4DS KB
Day 5 4DS shoulder + hamstring barre work + HIIT
Day 6 45 min. 75% cardio (maybe Step Moves?)
Day 7 yoga

Note that I don't even remember how she has 4DS weight work grouped, but that's how they called for it so I'll see if I can make it happen that way (with back & bi together and chest & tri together, I mean).

Week 4 High Rep

Day 1 PLB
Day 2 PUB + 30 min. cardio (I'll do something easy 'cuz of tomorrow)
Day 3 ccpp (cardio coach press play - long cardio)
Day 4 STS meso 1 legs + MMA boxing (some not as intense cardio)
Day 5 ME upper body premix
Day 6 1 hour cardio (haven't decided)

I have not planned out the following weeks -- don't think I'll do a
straight repeat, but the weight ones may be pretty similar if not the same
(I'll probably change the circuits).

Hey Girls..

Okay I did:

1. 20 minutes of KCM Step + stretch
2. Walked outside for 15 minutes.
3. 23 Minutes of Meditation
4. Made and drank a cup of (decaf) Green tea w/ agave nectar

How healthy am I??? (well, until I get into the chocolate something or other tonight... NOOO! I won't! I won't!!!)

Right now I'm drinking another cup of tea: Apple Spice and Cinnamon. It's soooo good!

As the day went on, my chest and lats started getting some pretty decent DOMS (Thanks to my friend Lalo!).

Hottie: Oh husbands. They sure drive you batty! My issue with Greg this week is how hard he comes down on Zach. Always. It's always his fault for everything. Granted he is 14 and can cop an attitude AND be moody, but it's EVERYTHING. Today I'm ready to kick him (Greg, not Zach). I saw that nasty thread briefly. Maybe before the shit hit the fan. The way someone started complaining about not enough cool down before the stretch. That is sooo lame. Walk around! Duh! People just like to complain I think. But I don't think i would really have the balls to complain about something so lame to CATHE on HER thread for questions.

Beth: Yes, I am going on the DC trip, it's all set, actually. He called to tell me that there's another kid with diabetes going on the trip (I knew that) and his mom was concerned for him. Though he doesn't have an insulin pump, he gives himself shots every time he eats, but he has to eat on a certain schedule, which isn't guaranteed with the trip.

Joanne: Let me know what you think of the other TK and if the music is better sounding, when you do it, that is.

Beth: that video was funny!! OMG, the cat! The guy had a point though!

That's a cool rotation!! What a shake up. This is supposed to help you lean out/lose weight?

So tired..

.. I think it's time for Jammies!!!

Excellent, healthy activities, Chris! Amazing you got it all in -- good for you! Sorry to hear about the Greg/Zach issues..... I know there are going to be those moments coming up for me. Larry fought with his father, so he thinks it's just a normal thing and of course all father/sons go through it. I keep telling him to not make it a self-fulfilling prophecy, but he doesn't see it that way..... ug!

That rotation is supposed to make you "look great". :)

I guess I knew you were going on the DC trip -- I forgot how it shook out. I'm sure that other mom is relieved to know you'll be there!
