+++It's Tuesday and we're still MELTING!+++

Cathlete
Good Morning!

Just getting us started...the little "K" was off schedule this morning so I got a later start than usual.. had to cut my workout down by 20 minutesx( ...only did S&H Chest..

hope to be back!

Deb:)

Hey everyone - Just finished itrain, did the new itread 32/40 minute. I'm pooped. I forgot how hard it is to run continuously. Not sure how far I went because my treadmill decided to shut off when I was starting the last sprints. Oh well. BBL to talk to everyone.

Good morning!

Deb - I think the little "K" was trying to make sure you get a rest day. ;) I guess it didn't quite work this time. :D

Peggy - good for you on the new iTrain! Could you keep running even though the treadmill shut off?

Ah, shoot. I'm trying to remember stuff from last night's posts, and it's gone from my brain. I know there was some stuff I wanted to answer. Drat.

I will tell you that my tire seems okay. It lost maybe a pound of air overnight, so I guess I just need to keep an eye on it. I doubt the fix-it guys could find such a small leak to patch, so I'll just keep driving until it gets bigger.

Cardio Fusion was a great success!!! Hey, I actually JUMPED! I even made it through all the Drill Max drills with only one modification. My calf was totally happy with all the other stuff. Whoopeee! But I definitely need to practice my jumping. I was barely getting off the ground - and tuck jumps? Oh sure. :p

Morning all~

Still in the doldrums over here.

Deb - it's like having a baby! LOL!

Peggie - sorry to hear your treadmill shut off. That's annoying.

Shannon - hooray for jumping! I'm glad your tire isn't leaking a lot. Just make sure to keep an eye on it.

Morning All:)

Another foggy morning here on the boat...

Deb, Keegan, the demanding little devil, doesn't he know that if momma is happy so is everyone else?;) He needs to leave you alone in the morning, that is your time...yeah right, like Shelly said, its like having a baby.:) Oh, I saw the most interesting, pretty breed yesterday. Its called a "shebu inu"..pronounced "she-boo, ee-new" or something like that as I am sure I just butchered the spelling there. She looked like a little fox, beautiful coloring, what an interesting dog.

Peggy, how frustrating! Did you knock off that little emergency stop thing? I have done that on my treadmill, it stops all of a sudden, well at least you got most of your workout done right?:D

Shelley, aw sweetie, whats up in grumpyland today? Just feelin' down? Think about your upcoming RT with Cathe and the gals...:+ when is that BTW? I have been a little "snippy" lately...just feeling bitchy or something, no reason....I think I need to add more fat or something to my diet, it calms me down..

Shannon, yippee! Good for you chica, nice work on that Cardio Fusion workout. I have never been able to tuck jump, are ya kidding me? I am not an airborne type of person. In my dreams, I often fly around, its the coolest feeling...but in real life, I am pretty "grounded".

Hey to everyone else. I was the champion poster yesterday. It was a busy, busy day, alot of extra walking that I do not do in Vegas, I am hoping it pays off in me losing this squish around my middle. I swear.:p

Today is an itread followed by a shoulder/back workout with heavier weights. Tomorrow is arms, I am going to train them in a giant set fashion with lighter weights. I will train legs the same way, one exercise after the other with little rest. I think this will shock the bod a bit since I have not trained like this in years...

BBL to see what you all are up to...

Good morning all! Home from the dentist. LOVE that just-cleaned feeling! Ahhhhh

Goodness Peggie – did you fall? If my treadmill shut off unexpectedly, I would probably fall all over myself! Hope you have a great day at work today, lady!

Deb – at least you got in part of a workout! I was too tired before my dentist appt. I figure I’ll fit it in later today since I’m not working today.

Shannon – whew on the tire! Are you going to get it checked out? I think those dudes can find any leak, can’t they? Don’t they put it in water or something? Hmmm… Glad you had fun with Cardio Fusion – I really do like that one.

Shellers – sorry the brain is funky. Yes, like Tneah said – focus on the RT! You’re going to have a blast! What’s on tap for today?

Tneah – sounds like a great workout! How’s the hair doing in the foggy weather? Mine is PURRRTAYYY when it’s foggy/humid. Purtayyy. ;)

BBL to check in. Hope you all have a marvelously melty day!
:+

Good morning, Melty Maidens!

Oh, I love Tneah's idea about finding us an official Melty Maidens Mascot lady. Yes, Miss Nips might be too much for us to use on the forum! ;-)

So BIL went to the temp agency yesterday, and they said that it might be a FEW WEEKS to find him a position since he doesn't have any experience in his field. (He just finished his A. A. degree in Accounting, but has been working as a projectionist at a movie theatre the last 15 years.) UGG!! It's honestly driving me nuts having someone else around ALL THE TIME.

So can I ask you ladies for some help? I'm feeling really frustrated b/c I feel like I can't hang out downstairs at night. I know this is probably TMI (or is there such a thing with our group?! ;-) ), but after having my bra on all day, it starts digging into me, so I have to take it off. In the mornings, I've been wearing a short-sleeved sweatshirt over my PJ T-shirt, but it's been HOT in the evenings, so I don't want to have to wear a sweatshirt. So the last couple of nights, I've just been going upstairs and reading in bed at about 7:00 so I can have on my jammies and not have to worry. The thing is, though, that it's driving me nuts that I can't even enjoy evenings on the couch with my hubby. He suggested wearing a cami under my PJ T-shirt, but it's HOT. He also said that we could start putting on the air conditioner at night, but that is such a waste of energy and money. Anyways, I am not a happy camper right now. I'm having a pity party b/c I can't enjoy my summer break. x(

OK, sorry to vent! Everyone else has many more serious things to worry about. Sorry to be a baby!

Today's workout is my new AOS Newport kettlebell workout again. It kicked my butt last week, so I'm eager to try it again!}(

Deb -- Oh no about the little K being off-schedule and cutting into your workout! Can you finish your workout after work today?

Shannon -- Hooray for your calf making it through jumping!! I just saw your questions about the Prius, so I'll be sure to ask DH when he gets up in a few hours. ;-)

Tneah -- Oh, I'm reading yesterday's message that you can meet now on Thursday -- but we already made plans to go to the beach! Oh, I'm so sorry!! :-( Can we shoot for next week instead? Would next Monday, Wed., or Thurs. work? Just let me know! I was telling DH about how you said we could bring computers and just type to each other, and he also suggested doing something active, like a walk. I know, though, that once we see each other, we'll talk a mile a minute! ;-) Seriously, sweetie, I don't think you have any squish at all to worry about! Did you have a nice glass of vino last night after all that walking you did?

Peggie -- How funny about the cussing b/c of working around guys! Ah, Kara and I already are rooming with each other at the RT, and I think we just have a smaller room. :-( What a bummer b/c it would be fun to share a room! Have you thought about posting on the RT forum to see if anyone is interested in sharing with you?

Kristi -- I emailed you back before I read yesterday's post about your mom's friend's daughter. I LOVE that advice! Life is too short, and we need to appreciate what our bodies and minds can do for us in the here and now! Sending you that electronic {{{HUG}}}! And how awful that the washing machine conked out, too. OK, you officially deserve to scream as much as you want! What would be something fun and relaxing to do? Can you maybe get things done around the house, and then spend some time doing something relaxing? You poor thing!

Lainie -- How are you doing, babe? Are you getting better sleep? Hope so!

BG -- Oops! Sorry about the enabling for the KB workout (sheepish grin)! I'll stop talking about them, OK? ;-) Sounds like working in that heavy led apron is HOT! Yikes! ETA: We were posting at the same time! I like that just-cleaned feeling, too, although it always makes my tongue feel weird to glide around my clean teeth!

Robin -- Did you and DH get Tristan back safely yesterday? Are the meds kicking in for your infection? Hope you're feeling better! How is the eating going today?

Shelley -- Sending you {{{HUGS}}}, Shells Bells! Sorry that you're still feeling blue! Is there anything we can do to cheer you up? How has Karen been doing, too?

Allie -- Is the air fixed today? And were you able to spend some time with The Boy last night? Hope so!

ETA: Oh, my new Nike stuff is supposed to arrive today! Woo hoo! I just hope that the pants fit. I was about to say that I hate my weird body, but, in the spirit of being positive, I'll say instead that it can be difficult to find clothes that fit. ;-)

Sending all the Melty Maidens an electronic {{{HUG}}}! http://planetsmilies.net/obscene-smiley-1023.gif

Shelley - I'm going to get all the girls together and we're going to push you right on out of those doldrums. I'm sorry you're feeling icky. ;(

Tneah - yeah. Grounded. I like that. It makes us sound firm, steady and strong, right? Have fun with your new workout plans! I think I would love to experience a foggy morning on a boat. Just as long as the boat isn't moving. ;)

BG - glad you survived the dentist! I've got a trip coming up next week. Oh boy. No, I'm not going to have the tire checked just yet. Usually they take it off, then kind of rub this soapy water mix all over the surface. Any escaping air makes the water bubble. But I've had leaks small enough before that they don't show up that way. I expect this is one of those.

Leanne - turn on the AC!! You live in southern California! It's hot down there! I'm totally with you about going braless. Could you maybe go shopping for a nice, lightweight summer robe? That might be concealing enough, while still being cool.

Looks like it's going to be another slow day at work. I'm glad you ladies are around to keep me entertained. :7

Leanne! That is great, next week will totally work for me.:) Have fun at the beach, you little boogie boarder you.;) You know I love that word. I was watching some people standing on a surf board with an oar, rowing through the water, some even had their dogs on the board with them, it kinda looked like fun....I have okay balance, but the only thing is, the water here at the marina? Not sure if its that clean. I mean the other night, we saw a turd (yep, I used that word:) ) floating by, someone had emptied their holding tank into the water! A huge no-no!
So, turn up your AC woman! Its not a waste of energy, its hot, I hate being hot, turn it on and take it off chica, and do not for one second feel bad about it! As for BIL, good god, can't he just get a job down on the docks working on boats? There are a ton of people that work around here, they are always busy, what about McDonalds?:p Ok, that wasn't nice. But anything is better than nothing at this point! Geez, doesn't he get sick of hanging around the house? Is he eating your food? That would piss me off bad. Sorry, don't mean to get you goin' here, just feel so bad for you.

You and Shannon will find this strange, but I wear a bra all the time, even to bed! My twins are high and perky, so I really do not need to wear one, but I do, they are heavy and uncomfortable if I sleep without support.Oh, and a robe sounds nice, although I have two I never wear them during the summer months...but that might work. Victorias Secret--my favorite place for lounge wear has some I think.

Ok, off to the gym,.....yep, I had some vino last night, so that probably negated all the walking I did yesterday, but I am determined to enjoy myself darn it.:7

Hi guys!

Sorry I wasn't around much yesterday. To be honest, I don't anticipate being around much today either. Work is really busy and between trying to workout at night, do homework and hang out with The Boy, I have barely any time at night now! x(

But The Boy is worth it. ;)

My knee is killing me by the way. I haven't had knee trouble in a while now but my left one has flared up lately--bad. Which is weird since I barely worked out at all over the weekend and now it hurts?!?! x( WTH?!?! So I got up this morning planning on doing a iTread 27 Drills--but walking--but my knee felt fine and so I ran most of it. It felt fine the whole time. But it's NOT happy now. Why do you think it hurts all the time EXCEPT when I run? Weird.

Ok, so I'm not hanging out with The Boy tonight because I absolutely HAVE to get my homework done. I just have to. And I reeeaaalllly don't wanna. Hmph.

Leanne--my ta-tas are small enough that when I'm at home I live in those tank tops with the built-in bras. I practically bought Old Navy out of them the other day (Express has great ones too). That way you're kind of wearing a bra, but not really. And you'll stay nice and cool in them. Try em!

Tneah--how's the boat? Oh, how I'd love to be on a boat right now and not in this stifling office. Yep, that's right. The A/C still isn't working. I'm practically sitting in a pool of sweat. It's disgusting. Although they did just go out and buy us mini oscilating fans so I'm feeling a little better. Still sweaty though. Ick.

Shell--I hope you feel better. Don't be gloomy! Only 2 1/2 weeks until the RT! YIPPEE!

I'm sorry I don't have time for more personals. I'm thinking of you all. I'll try to get back later today, k? K. :)

Allison

Hey Allison, you can come stay with me on the boat anyday!:7 Sorry bout your AC...that is totally unacceptable.

Ok, Shelley, listen up chica. I was just reading something interesting. Studies have shown that in those of us who get the "summertime" blues, simply cranking up your AC at night while you sleep can help ease insomnia and irritability! It seems that those of us with what they termed "summer time depression" have higher body temps at night. So keeping cool during your sleep helps.:7 :7 They also say that starting your day off with an icy cold drink instead of a hot one helps too. You can tell me to bugger off if you like, but I found it interesting, no? Worth a shot I think. I keep my AC cranked otherwise I wake up all night long. Its funny, I am a much happier person in the cold weather cause i am a "snuggle bug", love to dress in winter stuff and "nest" inside. Summer time throws me off for some reason, energy levels not as high, I struggle with it. ((hugs)) to you.

Off to the gym I go even though my knees hurt, my low back hurts and I am a big old whiner...I already miss my Cathe I do!:)

Yes, Shannon is right -- Shelley, what can we do to cheer you up, chica? Can we tap dance or tell silly jokes? Sorry that you're still in a bad place!

Shannon -- Ah, good idea about the robe! Yes, we're in Southern CA, but we live on the coast (about a mile inland), so it really doesn't get too hot here, esp. at night. Now what can we do to entertain you?:+

Tneah -- I'm so sad about Thursday! :-( I would try to re-schedule our boogie boarding outing, but I think my SIL and niece are going to come, too. Would next Wednesday or Thursday be good? YUCK about that turd! That is so gross that people aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing when emptying their holding tanks! I know -- it seems like BIL should be doing SOMETHING to look for a job, but yesterday was it. He hasn't sent in any resumes or looked on-line since that one time the first weekend. It's going on two weeks almost of him just sitting around, mooching off all our food, and doing nothing. x( Have you checked out sleep bras? They're supposed to be really comfortable for gals who prefer to sleep in bras. Thanks for the heads-up about VS! I have to run errands tomorrow, so I'll check to see if they have any robes. I'm a total snuggle bug, too! :) I love winter and cozy weather! Hey, I was also thinking of something that might help keep you in your Cathe groove. I remember seeing that Vrinda had downloaded her Cathe workouts to her large video iPod so she could take them to the gym with her. Would something like that work for you? I think you need special software, but it might be worth looking into! :)

Allie -- Sorry that you have to do homework tonight instead of spending time with The Boy. That's no fun!:-( I'll check out those tanks you suggested, but usually I can't get away from wearing those without a bra. :-(

I had the best breakfast this morning, and forgot to share it earlier! At Costco last week, I got these Kashi strawberry flax waffles, so I had those, topped with some nonfat ricotta mixed with a little strawberry protein powder, topped with fresh strawberries! Yummy!
:9

Hi all. I woke up with Shelley's doldrums. I had a crappy nights sleep and didn't feel like going to crappy work. Now I'm too busy to post personals. Crap! Hope to see you all later.

Okay, I'm here to attempt some personals...

Tneah - Is this the Sheba Inu you saw?

http://www.howiewaldman.com/images/Otsu2006.jpg

Soooo cute!! I'm not at all excited about the RT, unfortunately. That's funny about needing more fat in your diet. I don't think I could cram any more fat into mine. Thanks for the advice on sleeping with the a/c and the cold drink. I'll try both!

BG - nothing on tap for today. Just work, then home and dinner and the usual crud.

Leanne - I think a light robe is a great idea. Actually, I'm all for just letting it hang out, but I don't think you'd be comfortable with that. I'm really ticked at your BIL. He's totally taking advantage!!! Karen is doing very well. Thanks for asking:)

Kristi - your washer broke? Oh no! I was there a few weeks ago! How terrible!

Allie - sorry you don't get to see the boy tonight. And why on EARTH haven't they got that A/C fixed yet???

Robin - sorry you caught my doldrums. I hope you perk up soon.

Allie - yes, the Boy is worth it. Don't worry about us - we'll be here when you have the time. As for that knee - I have a theory, because I've experienced the same thing with injuries. It's all about endorphins. They block pain and make you feel good. Not only that, but when you're working out, your muscles and ligaments are totally warmed up. So, if the injury isn't just terrible, the mere fact that you're working out makes it feel better, because you're happy to be working out and your body can ignore some pain. But then when you're done, things cool down and stiffen up, and BAM. The old bod realizes that crap, maybe that workout wasn't such a great idea after all. :7

Tneah - I totally agree that cooler temps help with the sleeping. I'm living proof. And I refuse to sleep without my AC in the summer! I keep it warmer during the day, but at night, I need it cooler or I just don't sleep.

Leanne - dang, that breakfast sounds good enough to be a dessert... but healthy!

Robin - I'm sorry you feel so blah. What's up? I hope you feel better soon.

Shelley - that is such a cute dog!!! Now, why on earth aren't you excited about the RT?

Just finishing lunch, which was a vanilla shake for me. I just got back from the orthodontist--hence the shake for lunch. They put the Disney Channel on and Monster's Inc. was on so the boys were very well-behaved and watched that while I was tortured. Then we ran by McDonald's and now the boys are watching the rest of Monster's Inc. Before going to the orthodontist, we managed to hit the p.o., ATLoft, and Target (again). I had to return those giant Target pants (exchanged the XXL for M) and I returned those pretty halter tops at ATL. In spite of my big talk about how I didn't care what people thought, I really didn't like how I looked in those tops! So I got some more sensible styles instead. DD-sized boobs just can't do halter tops, I guess.

Monsters, Inc. is almost over, so then I'll be putting Ewan to bed for his nap and doing my workout (a cardio premix of SJP). I'll bbl to report my workout and catch up on personals.

Lainie – so how did the first ortho appt go? Did they change your arch wire? So sorry about those halters! They were cute! I know how it is though… how they look on the hanger and how they look hanging on my body are TWO totally different things! ;)

Robin – sorry about the doldrums today! We’re going to have to get you and Shelley in a huddle and shower you with positive energy and happy vibes! Hope the funk goes away soon. Can you treat yourself to something? A manicure? I don’t know what rings your bells, but sometimes a little treat helps…

Shelley – what do you do for work? How come you’re not excited about the RT? I think you’re going to have a great time – once you get there maybe the excitement will kick in!!!! I’m too eskert to go to one. Too many people I don’t know. I’m a chicken. I would do the chicken dance for you if it would help your mood… (she starts with a chicken wing…) :7

:7

:7

Ok.

Leanne – what completely BITES is the fact that you are modifying your lives for him, but he’s doing NOTHING in return. What does DH think about all this? I hate that you have to conceal the girls in your own home. Maybe you should just go TOPLESS and act like you have no idea why anyone is shocked. :D All right, all right. I’ll come back from crazy-ville and try to help you with a more polite solution. ;) And Tneah’s right – there are ALWAYS places that are hiring, for crying out loud. The problem is – he has it far too easy.

Funny about the boogie board talk. Reminds me of when DH and I were in Hawaii last November… we watched a surfing competition. Those folks were incredible!! But DH had to remove me from the beach because I kept telling him I had an overwhelming desire to yell “SHARK!!!” I know, not cool. I didn’t do it of course, but in my mind I did. No, I’m not 8.

Tneah – good for you girl on the vino! What do you like? I’m the same about the A/C. We have ours set at 68 at night in the summertime! But I would rather be a little chilly and “have” to snuggle with DH than be hot and stifled. Good idea you gave Ms Shelley. :) You all are the best! :+

Allison – in the time it took to buy everyone fans… they could have the A/C fixed. Grrr. So sorry. You just stay busy with that Boy Toy. Enjoy every second! But get your homework done. (sorry, that was a little maternal – and I don’t even have kids!) :D

Hi to Shannon, Peggie and Kristi!

ETA: Shannon - you are one cool chick. I saw your post on the article in the OD.

Shelley, yes! That is the dog! Isn't she/he adorable? I just love this breed, so inquisitive looking.:) Did I say I need more fat in my diet? Or I want more fat? Probably like I want more fat, as I am quite sure I am getting plenty! I just crave fatty stuff lately which is weird.Like I want to smear everything with real butter, roll around in olive oil and eat red meat--gasp! WTH?
You are feeling crappy, so even the RT sounds like a chore huh? (hug)

Lainie, ouch, not again chica!:-( Maybe those halters just didn't fit properly, cause I have a few that work, the trick is finding ones that are made out of more stretchy material--at least that approach works for me, although I have a hard time baring my arms for some reason, I feel like I am "big" or whatever, its stupid, I know, my own silly hang ups...nighty night little Ewan..

Leanne, oh please girl, I will be here all summer long! We will meet, its all good!:7

Robin, I saw your bird! I whipped out my camera and took a pic, need to upload and see if its any good though...(hug) to you as well!

Shannon, whats up girl? You would be proud of me, I hit it hard today at the gym, did back and shoulders--heavier, lower reps...15-10 to be exact. It felt wonderful like I actually got a workout.:7

Ok, energy levels not as high today, hopefully not as much walking "the plank" or rather the dock today, helping DH write a new ad...bbl guys.:7

hey I missed ya BG!

Hey all,

Just got done doing my KB workout and, to borrow one of my favorite lines of Cathe's, my arms are shakin' like a chihuahua!

Shelley -- I'm so sorry that you're still feeling blue. I know everyone's already asked this, but how come you're not feeling excited about the RT? Remember that your blue mood WILL pass, and then you'll be feeling more social. I'm SOOO glad to hear that Karen is doing well! I think of her and you a lot. What a cool-looking dog! It looks more like a wolf actually!

Robin -- Sorry that the crappiness has caught you, too! Sending you big, huge {{{HUGS}}}! The day is over half-way done, right?? :)

Tneah -- So while I was working out, it hit me about what we could do next week! You know that KB DVD you bought at Target? The owner, Sarah Lurie, has her KB gym in Pacific Beach! So I was thinking, would it be fun to try out a KB class together and then maybe get lunch or dinner afterwards? We'd be totally sweaty messes, but it could make us less shy! Here's the link to her gym: http://www.ironcorekettlebells.com/. Of course, if you don't like the idea, then I'm game for anything else. It'll just be fun to meet!!:*

BG -- Well, letting it ALL hang out might not be a good idea! ;-) DH actually feels terrible right now, which makes me feel even worse. It's just frustrating b/c he's not even looking for jobs. One hour spent at a temp agency isn't what I'd call actively pursuing work. Ah, well! Thanks for the sympathy! It really means a lot!!

Lainie Bug -- You should have kept the tops!! I bet the girls really would have looked great in them since halters are supposed to be super-flattering for gals with larger girls! Are your teeth hurting a lot? Poor thing! Sending you {{{HUGS}}}!

Shannon -- Yes, that breakfast really was more like dessert! I loved baked breakfast foods . . . pancakes, waffles, muffins . . . . OK, now I'm making myself hungry again! ;-) Has work picked up a bit? :)
