It's so freaking hot!!

Today, the heat index was up to 110 degrees. 110 freakin' degrees!! It's frying out there (but my cats are still begging me to open the windows for them, and are very upset with me because I won't!).

I had just gotten into my hot little car in the parking lot, drove off, and decided to put on some lipstick. I reached in the little compartment where I keep it, took off the top, and put it on...not realizing that it had melted to the consistency of very soft chocolat. Not only did I get a huge glob on my lips, but I got it AROUND my lips, and on my fingers. So here I was, driving down the street with one hand, while trying to make sure the gooey lipstick didn't do any more damage with the other, and looking for some kleenex at the stop lights. No kleenex, but I finally found some handy wipes.

I've done this before with clear lip gloss, which actually melted like liquid wax, but never with color. Luckily, I was able to the get it all off.

It's too darn hot!

It is going to be 102 degrees tomorrow here. I don't even know what the heat index will be. I went into a store today and left my glasses in the car,to return and put them on my face to burn the pi** out of my nose. That'll teach me huh?

I am going to stay in as much as possible tomorrow!!

This morning I worked out and showered, came into the kitchen and broke a major sweat putting a couple of glasses in the dishwasher and thinking the same thing, 'IT'S SOOOO FREAKING HOT!!' I glisten like a pig at the best of times but this is insane. I have no A/C in my car and have been using strategically placed freezing gel packs to keep me cool as I drive to work. What is even more annoying is that as soon as it gets cool enough to sit on the porch the FREAKING MOSQUITOES come out. I know I'll be wishing for a day like this come next February but....be that as it may!

Kathryn, I've got a hot little car too and I can't count how many times lately that I have reached for my waterbottle and swilled extremely not refreshing hot waterx(

My daughter has been practising her piano notes and chords and has played a lot of 'Jingle Bells' lately, it cools me down a bit, maybe we should all break out our Christmas music:+ :7 HO HO HO!:)

Take Care
Laurie:)

It seriously was only in June that I was complaining of snow...this is July and so far so good. Yep, it is hotter than hot right now, but I am NOT complaining because it will be snowing again before I know it. It does help that my version of HOT is in the mere 90's and I do have beautiful Lake Tahoe to dip in;)

Kathyrn ~ I hear you. My kids want to go outside all the time. I've been telling them if it involves water that's fine. Needless to say, we've been spending a lot of time at this private pool. There's a public one, but that place is insane and I can't keep my eyes on all my kids there. They keep bugging me to take them there.

I don't know how you folks who live in Arizona, Florida, etc. do this day in and day out. We also had a water ban, so a few of our trees have died. Thankfully, the ban was just lifted. What I don't understand is that our water comes from Lake Michigan and the last time I checked there was plenty of water!:p

Stay cool everyone!

We Arizonians can relate!!

Last week we hovered at around 116-118 and it was hot to say the least. This week it is around 106 but now we have humidity (no, it is not a dry heat here in July and August) and the humidity makes it ugly. Our lows lately are about 86-90 at night....whew!! But, we have bragging rights from Oct.-May (I have to keep telling myself this...)

Try to stay cool everyone:)

I'd take the dry heat any day over the 93 and humid as heck stuff we've been having. I hate the humidity! It's been so humid here that you feel like you're walking thru a mist in the air.

Misery here in North Carolina too!!! Forecast is 99 degrees today with heat index well over 110. I have to mow the grass!!! I am going to delay it one day and try tomorrow but I will still probably have to start when the sun starts going down, probably have to spread it over two days. I don't think I'll push it this time!!

Same here. 97 F plus 98% humidity is about a 110 F heat index. Oh well. I still prefer this to the winter. Someone once told me " You don't have to shovel the heat" and I agree. LOL

Yes...it is too dang hot for sure!!! We have a heat advisory for today...heat index to reach 110. Hot AND humid...bleh!!! I can't wait for fall weather which won't be for a while here in South Carolina. Fall is my favorite season and the weather makes me feel so invigorated and I drive with my windows down and let it mess up my hair and I open the windows in the house and curl up under a blanket and drink coffee...I will keep my thoughts on cool, fall weather and keep my air conditioning running like mad for now!

I feel you. The heat index has been around 105 here with high Tennessee humitidy. This past weekend, my goal was not to open the doors to the outside of the house until after 8pm.

I got home yesterday and only had the enery to do the first 4 intervals of Lowmax. This heat is draining me.

It is disgustingly hot here as well. Today is supposed to be the hottest day of the summer for my part of Pa. I don't even want to go outside. My poor DH works outdoors - he is going to roast!

Hot just doesn't describe it. Miserable - oppressive - ... nope, those don't quite get it either, but getting closer. The thermometer said 80 degrees at 4:30 a.m. today, and walking outside meant trying to breathe through so much humidity you could probably swim in it. It's supposed to hit 100 today, with high humidity (probably 90%), which means a heat index of about 110. Summer is NOT my favorite season.

Ugh. We're getting up over 100 a lot of days too. It's disgusting, feels like you're swimming though the air. However, today it's supposed to break and the rest of the week is going to be MUCH better. I pray they're right.

I hear you, Kathryn. I have to keep dodging all the gum spots on the sidewalks. When it gets this hot, the gum globs melt and stick to your shoes. The streets of NYC are like a gum glob minefield. x(

Kathryn,

Sorry to hear about the lipstick, I know how that goes though. I never leave stuff in my car anymore. Ever since I had a CD actually melt in my car, basically when I pick the cd up to put in my player, it kind of softly bent around my fingers and then dropped over, like a dead flower. I now make copies of all my cds and keep the originals in my house, and still be pretty causious with my copies, and actually take them inside with me, when I go to work. But I know all about that 110 heat, and it is horrible.

DH and I were visiting friends and family in St. Louis last week, where it hovered around 100 most of the time. By the end of our trip, we couldn't wait to get back to Florida (where we live now), where low 90's seem so much cooler. It felt so weird saying we couldn't wait to get back to "cooler" Florida! :p
