Oh, yes, Laurie, that IS gross, isn't it? Maybe we can think of it as tea. "Clear tea" "Virgin tea"? Give it a name, and already it's better tasting ! (The good news: we COULD make some sun tea quite easily: car tea!
And I have been known to keep water in my car for a while, so the risk of "backwash bacteria" growing more profusely in the heat is high! (I once was in my office, took a swig of a water bottle I had there, and swallowed before I realized that something had grown in there! Not with heat, but just regular room temp.)
I'm sooo glad I got a new car in November! I didn't have air conditioning in my car for 15 years! Not as much of a problem when I lived in "region IV" on the weather map. But "region V" is a bit hotter! Though I actually like the "hot sauna" feel of my car when I get into it in the parking lot (Do you think it has some of the same benefits of a sauna? ). That is, until the sweat starts coming, and that nice, DRY heat gets humid.
