~~~~It's Hump Day MELTERS! ~~~~
Shannon - Pat Barelli? Apparently he has the best training program in the world. Dr Carter says it’s never too late!! Horses are learning machines, he says. (I’m working with him today) :D He was just given a horse from Ronnie Willis (who passed away in 2003). Not sure if you know who that is (I don’t), but apparently it was a HUGE honor. He was almost in tears the day he got the call. I happened to be working with him that day, too.
Gina Warrington is in Mena Arkansas – is that near you? He says she’s way sweeter than he is. :D :D (you're in Arkansas, right?)
Robin – yep that’s it. I probably have just too wild of imagination at 4 a.m.!! LOL Man his voice is like buttah, though, ain’t it?? Melty buttah. Mmmmmm. You say run Coach Sean? Yep. I’m a-runnin. ;) SO glad you feel a little better. And Pity Parties can be fun! I threw an official Pity Party for my MIL when her company downsized and she was laid off years back. I invited everyone she knew (she was pretty upset), and it really helped cheer her up! Plus, it was big ol fun! Lotsa folks said they’d never actually been invited to a true “Pity Party”! LOL. You just have your pity party, and make sure it’s big. Then you can refocus and move ahead.
;-) :) :7 There's a reason we have those emotions. We gotta exercise them real good, just like we have to exercise our physical bodies. Keeps us healthy.
Robin - I love what BG said - exercise those emotions to stay healthy! Now that's some good insight! I'm glad you're feeling better. Whack the nameless one on the head, and you'll feel MUCH better. }(
BG - Pat Parelli! With a P - that's the guy! I know it's never too late, and Starry is a smart little bugger. I just have no desire at all. I actually don't want the horses anymore, but I can't sell Alaska, my old girl. That would be cruel. She's 18 and has never lived anywhere but our place. She'd wind up as dog food, and there's no way I'd do that to her. Mena is about 3 hours away, or maybe a bit more - it's been a while since I've been out that way.
Whew, I’m pooped. I just finished S&H Legs & Shoulders. I had another sort of busy morning. This time I went to Kohl’s. I was just going to return some stuff, but…. Well, you all know what a shopping fiend I can be. I ended up getting some bras (my size has changed and not in a good way :() and a couple toys for the boys. Somehow I managed to bring home the wrong size again, though; one of the sports bras was way off. :( Good grief, how did I manage that again? No, I don’t want to go back to Kohl’s—it’s no Target for me. The worst part is you have to walk all the way through the store to return stuff; at least at Target you can do that at the front (not that I ever make it out without buying something else anyway).
My teeth hurt after yesterday’s adjustment, but not nearly as bad as when I first got the braces on, at least.
Deb, how’s the puppy doing? I hope he’s feeling better.
Robin, so sorry you were feeling in the dumps. We all have those nasty days sometimes and it’s perfectly acceptable to have a pity party as long as you invite us all.
Peggie, I have trouble with doing certain workouts the day before or after a good kickboxing workout. I’m wondering if I’ll be dying when I do Kick Max tomorrow after today’s shoulder work. I need to remember to separate workouts better!
Allison, hooray for the a/c! I remember the first day we hooked up our portable a/c here in the living room—such heaven. It’s still pretty hot and stuffy upstairs (or in the kitchen if I turn on the oven) but at least it’s nicer in here where I work out! Oh, the patio looks pretty good—I just went out (you reminded me) to take some photos. I’ll post those here (or post links to where you can see them) later today.
Shannon, yum, blueberries! Makin’ pie?
Kristi, ooh fun, new washer! Would you believe I have a spare washer and dryer in my basement? I guess that will be handy if the ones I’m using poop out on me. We got all the appliances with this house (that seems more common here than it was in TX) but we also brought our stuff from Texas. We also have a big spare fridge in our shed. Anywho, sorry you are still in a funk, hope you feel better soon.
Breckgirl, one of the bras I bought today is a convertible type (and with clear straps) so I’m going to see if one of the convertible ways is a halter. It’s hard to find specialty bras when you’re over a certain size. x( But I look down and I don’t look that big to me, but technically I’m a “fuller figure”. I’m at least much smaller than my sister, even after she had her boobs reduced. She’s definitely top-heavy and I’m more an hourglass (just a too-big hourglass—a 3-hourglass, maybe). Anyway, realized I missed a couple questions you asked on Monday. First, wanted to ask where in Denton you went to school? My mom went to TWU (seemed like she was there the whole time I was growing up—she finally went as far as a PhD) and Brian’s mom got a library science Master’s from UNT (though she did hers by correspondence from Houston). As for my boys, Ewan will be 3 later this month and Isaac will be 6 in early August. You can see silly videos of them on my regular blog at http://lainiefig.blogspot.com They are pretty cute, if I do say so myself.
Tneah, I hate a very crowded situation as well—which is funny considering I love cities. I prefer a bit of personal space even in a busy city, though. I remember going out on the Queen’s birthday in Holland and the streets were insanely crowded—I could barely push a stroller down the brick-paved streets. It was agony. I learned never to go out on holidays like that. It is the most densely-populated country in Europe, after all. (And the tallest—so it felt extra crowded when you were surrounded by tall people.) What an adorable picture of Georgie. I so wish I had a dog!
Leanne, I hope you make good use of your rest day and truly make it restful. If you get the urge to move, just kick the BIL. :p
Shelley, hope you get better rest tonight! I have not been sleeping well myself, but in my case it’s just the heat. I am going to try to get to bed early tonight so I can work out in the morning.
OK, I think I’m mostly caught up now. I need to go have a snack—or maybe just go ahead and make dinner soon. Hope to bbl.
I ended up doing Push Pull today. It was too hot to do anything cardio. Hopefully, there will be less humidity tomorrow and I'll be able to get sweaty without fear of passing out.
Tomorrow evening I'm going out with a crew from work to celebrate the end of the students year. We are going to a tavern for beer and wings. Yeah, that will help me melt! But it should be fun. And someone else is driving me, so I don't have to nurse one beer all evening. Oh, and I don't have to work on Friday. Tomorrow should be fun all around. I think I'll consider it a Pity Party for me! Thanks all, for all your support. Gotta go start dinner.
Hey ladies. How is everyone?
Busy day today, but had my morning workout and managed to get the lunch workout in too. It was tempting not to go though, but the time away from the office is good.
Deb - Poor puppy. I hope you figure out what is wrong with him.
I like the itrains. I just got the new one and it is flat and fast, much better than hills. My treadmill is okay, it just does that sometimes, but I can turn it right back on.
Robin - Sorry about your grumpiness and glad you are feeling better and got a workout in.
Allison - I bet you feel great with the sleeping, must be cause your in love. Great job on the workout.
Shannon - I LOVE fresh blueberries. We always put ours in plain Stonyfield yogurt. So yummy. Glad you got your workout in.
Kristi - Hope you get out of your funk.
BreckGirl - Isn't cardio coach great. How do you work out at 4 a.m.? Holy crap, I think 5 is early. Don't you just love Coach Sean's voice- whip me, spank me, make me write bad checks- Oops did I write that out loud. http://planetsmilies.net/obscene-smiley-1005.gif Sorry if I offended anyone.
Tneah - George is sooooo cute. What kind of dog is he? What is your company?
Leanne - Naughty Pizza sounds so good. For lunch today I had catfish tacos. They are so good. They come with a mango coleslaw and black beat salsa to put on the tortillas with the catfish and then top with chipotle mayo. YUMMY. I loved the KB workout. It came with an instructional DVD too. Thanks for the tips. I thought the 4DS Power sounded good too. Maybe I will do that tomorrow instead of CC or Itrain. I hope you ate at lunch.
Shelley - Glad Sophie is feeling better.
Lanie - too bad you grabbed the wrong size again. That really sucks. I hate returning things. It is such a pain. I also hate trying things on at the store, so I guess I have to put up with one or the other.
Talk to you all later.
Just finished some weight work. That should set me for today. Gonna do a longer cardio tomorrow.
Shannon – WHOOPS! Yep, I meant with a P. Don’t tell Dr. Carter. ;) Do you have help to care for all that barn and horses and I’m assuming land?
Lainie – Glad the braces don’t hurt as bad as at first. I’m only looking forward to my first adjustment because that means I’m further along in treatment. I finally can wear lipstick! I’m a little afraid to try gloss, though – since that can get everywhere. I have to be careful because I have clear on the top 6, and they say they can stain easily. But now that my lips are used to these dang things (well, maybe not completely), I can wear lipstick without it getting all over them. The DAY I got my braces, I put on lip gloss and dang if I didn’t have it all in the brackets. NOT cute. :eek: But I felt nakey without my lipstick!!!! Great workout, woman! Glad you found a bra for the girls – hope it works! Now you have to run back out and get those cute halters!!! Oh, got my masters at UNT.
What great ages of boys! Little boys are SO GREAT at those ages. I especially love about 8-9, right when their little senses of humor are really maturing and their perspective on life is amazing. What fun! They must keep you on your toes for certain!!! ;) Yahoo on the patio! Looks great! I’ll be right over, and we can sit out back (I’ll bring lawn chairs), put our feet up and sip something “adult.”
Robin – what a wonderful thing to look forward to! And we’ve all been throwing around the “life is too short” philosophy lately, so honey – ENJOY your beer and wings. :7 Let loose, have fun – but be safe! :7 Glad you have someone to drive! And WTG on the workout today, even though you weren’t feeling like it! That’s the spirit!
Peggie – and good for you too, for working out when you didn’t really feel like it. Mmmmm – yes, Coach Sean’s voice is DREAMY. I wasn’t expecting the soft subtle voice in my L ear counting down the seconds. Sometimes it almost gave me chills… or was that the tribe awaiting my arrival??? They did look a little menacing at 4 a.m…. :7
Hi all you other Melty ladies! Can’t wait to hear from you all to see whazzup in your corner of the world. :)
Hey all...
Well the troops are starting to leave....:eek: :eek: too many people, too many people!
Interesting stuff though, excited about this new product, of course you lovelies will be the first I will send samples to.:7
We had a lovely lunch, I had salmon and salad, even saved half for Georgie, BTW, he is a Newfoundland. A big ole slobber machine.:p
Shelley, good you popped in today chica, sorry bout little Sophie's headache, she is lucky to have such a doting mommy!:)
Lainie, sorry bout those bra's...I order online alot, so sizing is always off. I have the best luck with Victoria's Secret since over the years I know how they size most of their things.
BG, Isn't Coach Sean yummy? What did you work today?
Robin, so happy you are having a beer and wings shindig!:7 Sounds like alot of fun, and is sure to lift those spirits a bit! The hell with the melting for a day, just be good for a few meals afterwards right? :D
Peggy, offend anyone??:eek: Girl please. I think its impossible to offend me, oh wait, I do get offended by people who are intolerant of others differences. That pisses me off more than anything. But offend? Yeah right.;) I love the whip, spank and call me bad names.:7
Shannon, I have no idea what you and BG are talking about, but I love that you love your old mare so much, she is lucky to have you.:)
OK who did I miss?? I am wiped, being with crowds zaps my energy rather than feeds it. Like DH's daughter? She hates to be alone, and is at her best and feeds off of large groups of people. Me, not so much. I will not get a workout in today, too much. Will settle in with a glass of wine and maybe a good book or movie...love you guys, where is Leanne???:7
Tneah – Yes, Coach Sean is quite delish! }( I’m “currently” doing a spin on the NROLW. So today I did deadlifts (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE for some completely sick reason), shoulder presses, pullovers (again, LOVE these), lunges (not so in love) and abs. Not a real strenuous workout per se (like I like) but it’s what was next. I don’t know if this is really my style, but I’m giving it a go. It just seems so short/simple to me right now. It does get a little more intense, but not for several weeks. I was wondering if I could just skip ahead. :D Not really sure what to do really… spent lots of time clicking around on the Body by O website again last night. Even put the 12 week transformation in my shopping cart. :7 (yes, I know it doesn’t do any good THERE) I do wonder what realistic expectations are though… (Realistic, what the hell is that???) I noticed one of my gym branches new locations on the way home from work today. It’s about halfway between work and home, so I thought I might stop in and use all the fun stuff I love that I don’t have at home (like leg press, hack squat, and play with the Smith machine – again, sick, I know). I just CANNOT get these legs to be firm it seems. Again, have no clue where to go next. I need to pick something and STICK with it (which is why Body by O appeals to me). I think I have workout ADD. :7 Hmmm… maybe THAT’s my problem!
Great that you’re relaxing with vino today! I am totally digging the way we are all trying to have a healthy balance between life and work/working out. This is something I NEED, and am glad to be sharing it with you all!
Crowds zap the life right outta me too. And your lunch sounded heavenly! :p
YES – WHERE IS LEANNE?!?!?!?!?!? Hey Leanne, any eagles land over there??? Did you play lots and lots today?
BG, Your workouts sound like fun actually. Oh, one thing, you have to send bikini shots in every week to Kim...yep. But don't worry, he is not a pervert at all, just incredibly good at seeing changes in your body and making adjustments. Do it! I will be your cheerleader.:)
