~~~~It's Hump Day MELTERS! ~~~~
Good Morning!
No workout today...watching to see if the little spitfire is going to keep this meal down.. He puked up 2 of his meals yesterday, and I am getting a little concerned.. I know dogs puke ( right Shelly?;-) ), but puppies can't continually do this, as it can mean something may be seriously wrong.
Peggie:
How do you like the new I-Train? Did you figure out what is wrong with your treadmill?
Shannon:
Keep a watch on that tire.. from my experience, once they leak, unless you take it to be fixed, it will always leak.x( Nice job on the CArdio Fusion!
Shelly:
Yep..you are exactly right..it's like a baby alright! Are you better today?
Tneah:
Funny you mentioned the Shebu inu..my chiro has one that is beautiful! She sits in the room and licks your fingers when you are face down on that torture contraption with your hands hanging down.. she is the "assistant"..very cute! I also got her certified as a Therapy Dog. She does the "Reading With Rover" at a school on the Indian reservation. YUK on that floating object!
BreckGirl:
No problems at the dentist? Lucky you! Were those serious comments from your Dad?
Leanne:
Well at your DH is starting to see the light about BIL ..hope he does that talk today! I think a swift kick in the butt is what he needs..How about giving him a list and asking him to go shopping for the food for the week? Don't give him money! Maybe he'll get the hint..I do exactly what you do...as soon as I get home from work, the first thing to go is the bra! }( STrawberry Flax waffles...yum!
Allison:
You sound so much better these days:7 ..So glad it is working out with the Boy! I like your tip on the tops from Old Navy..I have to go see if I can pick some up.. I love tank tops but usually wear with no bra and "the girls" are not as perky as they used to be so I only do this around the house when no one but DH is here...
Robin:
Hope you are back soon!
Lainie:
What a busy day you had! Did you get a workout in? How does the mouth feel today?
Kristi:
Sorry you feel so yucky! I don;t feel much like workout out either...What is happening around here? Maybe it's the heat?
...have a great day!
Deb :)
Hi all. I'm here, but still incredibly grumpy. I didn't get a workout done yesterday. I had a meeting at church after work, followed by grocery shopping. When I was done, my car wouldn't start. It was hot, I was in the dumps and the two donuts I bought myself didn't help. It's probably the starter, which the mechanic was supposed to fix last month, but he thought it was a bad cable. So the car was towed to the garage and I was told to grow up when the whole day reduced me to tears. Sigh. I had a night of hot sweats, yowling cats and a crying baby who has a cold. I don't think I'll be here much today. Hopefully, I'll get a workout fit in this evening.
Tneah, it is a Snowy Egret.
Hugs to all. Taa.
Good morning Deb and Robin.
Deb - my treadmill just does that once in a while, I can turn it right back on but it loses all that workout information.
Robin - Sending hugs your way. I hate when I have days or weeks like that. You don't need to grow up, you are going to be fine.
Just finished Power Hour. My arms were a little tired, could it be from the KB workout the night before. I think so. Ouch.
Hi everyone else. BBL
Hellooooooo!!
How is everyone? I'm sitting here at work....drumroll please.....WITH THE A/C ON!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!http://www.pic4ever.com/images/bliss.gif[/img]
I'm so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I slept so well last night!!!! I only woke up twice--once at 1am and once at 4am. I got right up this morning at 5 and worked out too so I'm in a good mood. I did 4DS Cardio Power (KB and BC cardio) and 4DS Bi's and Tri's. I wanted to get in shoulders too but ran out of time. x( I'm follwing Cathe's Tank Top Rotation. It's super fun.
Deb--oh no! Why is the little spitfire hackin' stuff up? Poor little guy. I hope it's nothing serious.
Leanne--how's the &%$* BIL? Did he have that interview yet? Oh, and seriously--try those tank tops from Old Navy. I'm a 34 B and they hold "the ladies" in perfectly. Not well enough to not wear a bra under for work or leaving the house, but to hang around, they're perfect. I wear a small.
Peggie--Sorry about the treadmill drama. Mine doesn't do that (yet) but my hand is always hitting that emergency stop button and then it shuts off and I lose all my w/o info. Drives me insane! x(
Robin--I'm sorry you're still feeling crummy. Keep your chin up, girlie!
Lainie--how's the fancy new patio?
Shelley--how are you? :)
Tneah--having fun on the boat? I saw the picture of the yellow-footed bird you posted. So cute! Where did you find him?
Breckgirl--hello! What's shakin'?
Ok, back to work. Just thought I'd pop in and say hi. Oh, and I did (most of) my homework last night! yay!
ETA: I forgot to say hi to Shannon! Sorry if I forgot anyone else...
Allison
Hi, y'all!
Deb - if I were you, I'd take the little spitfire to the vet, just to be safe. Not meaning to scare you, but vomiting is a sign of one of those puppy diseases... parvovirus, maybe? I can't remember. It would certainly ease my mind to have the vet check the little bugger out.
Robin - who in the heck had the gall to tell you to "grow up?" Good grief, I would have decked him. Your day was just pure lousy, and you were perfectly right to vent your frustrations. I sure hope things get better soon.
Peggie - Hi... sounds like you had a great workout!
Allison - yay for the AC! FINALLY!!!!
Well, it's certainly "melty" outside. Oh boy is it hot. I was sweating, just walking to the barn last night. Guess I'd better get used to it, because it's here until through September.
I had a really good upper body workout last night. Tneah, you would have loved it - I really hit it hard, as you say. :7 I popped in some music, picked two of my favorite exercises for each part, and did them in push-pull cycles.
I picked blueberries last night... got a late start and didn't finish until 8:40. I was having a bit of trouble seeing those last few to pick them!
Hi, all
I'm still in a giant funk, but my washer is here. Yea! I won't be around much because I don't want to tie up DD's laptop, and I need to pack to go to that legal conference tomorrow. I'll be back late Saturday.
I think the girls and I are going to do the Hip Hop Workout DVD again today, then I'll do IMAX 3. I'm really trying to get that one under my belt b/f RT. I'm also going to take the girls to sign them up for Driver's Ed. UGH!
Deb -- I'm so sorry to hear about the little guy! I hope he improves really quickly. Please keep us posted.
Robin -- oh, dear -- it sounds like you and I are sharing the same funk. Just one thing after another! Hang in there! I will definitely be reduced to tears if DH's IT guy can't salvage the material on my hard drive and put it on my new computer.
Peggie -- great job on your workout!
Allison -- sounds like your day is off to a great start!
Hi to everyone else!
Hey, Shannon -- we were posting at the same time. Your workout sounds great! Fresh blueberries -- yum!
Good morning melty ladies!
Did my first CC workout this morning on the TM. I loved it! It IS incredibly motivating. Although at 4, I wasn’t exactly awake, so when he was talking about “legend has it there’s a reason you must move down this hill at a quick pace” and the “you’re all alone” was a little skeery. I mean, it was pitch dark, I was all alone in that end of the house and not fully awake. So baby, I RAN! LOL. I was a sweaty mess afterwards, and my cheeks stayed pink for like 45 minutes. I think that’s pretty cool! I still heart iTrain though. :D
Deb – goodness, I’ll keep mini spitfire in my prayers. I hope he’s okay. Do get it checked out, and let us know okay? Re the comments from my dad… the “ugly daughter” comment I think was meant to be a joke (because he always did it, and it got a chuckle). But the “models don’t walk like that” was serious – he had me practice keeping my feet one in front of the other. The fat stuff – dunno. He’d say things like “you’re getting fat” or “you’re gaining weight” or stuff like that. Who knows? Recently, when he was asking about my braces, I told him I’m already self-conscious about how I look, and adding braces is kind of difficult to adjust to… to which he replied, “that surprises me” but then quickly added “looks are so much more about what’s inside.” Whatever. Maybe he was trying to be nice, but I try not to analyze too much from him. Hard to do.
That’s cool about the Therapy Dog – I love watching them.
Ms Robin – I’m so sorry there’s a cloud following you around. Turn around, shake your fist at it, and tell it to get the he!! away from you. Yes – WHO told you to grow up? I’da smacked ‘em clean out. Like THEY have never had a hard day in their life. Whatever. Blow that person off. You react how you need to react. Just sending positive energy to you so hopefully things will even out. OK? We will miss that you’re not around much today, but understand fully. If I lived closer to you, I’d come help you out! (and probably bring that pitcher of margaritas Tneah mentioned).
Good morning Shannon! You have a barn? Whatcha got in there?? :D Mmmmmmmmmmm blueberries. And FRESH… I’ll be right over. :p
Hi Peggie – Great workout this morning!
Allie – YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO on the A/C. FINALLY! What are you getting your degree in? I’ve always wanted to try that tank top rotation… glad to hear it’s fun! How far into it are you?
Here’s to hoping Kristi and Shelley are feeling a little better!!!! :*
Hidy-ho to everyone else to follow! Crazy weird schedule on the van today. We’ll see when I can check back in.
Just refreshed before I posted and saw you sneak in Kristi! Sorry to hear you’re not feeling any better. That IMAX 3 ought to jump some of those icky feelings right out! Good luck with the Driver’s Ed thing!
Good Morning All!:)
Deb, take Keegan to the vet...Georgie had kennel cough when he was little, it freaked me out, but it was easily fixed. You know how little kids get sick easily? It seems puppies do to, I am certain he is fine though, probably just a little bug, or maybe a rawhide didn't agree with him? I loved the story about your chiro's dog. They are just the sweetest little things, I adore that breed.
Robin, *smacks jerk-off across the head* whatta mean thing to say. ((hug))Crap, you had a whopper of a day. It can only get better now, hang tough sweetie. And thanks for naming the elusive bird for me! I love that bird, I think he made an appearance yesterday just for you!:) There is only one that hangs out by the docks, and he comes around only occasionally. I fed a momma duck and her little babies bread yesterday,I found them swimming around the sailboats here. So cute.
Kristi, ((hugs))to you as well, boy you all are in dire need of some "TM"...."Tneah's Margarita's! Imax 3 ought to cure what ails ya. I find that one very hard on my body, and prefer Imax 2, but you go for it sister! I love the outfits in 3 though, I love pink, so actually that is your favorite color right? You will enjoy!
Shannon, sounds like you had a kick-arse workout! Way to go, and yum, bluberries...I used to pick them when I lived in Seattle to pay for my school clothes, it takes forever!:eek:
Allie-Yippee for AC darlin!:7 So glad to see you in a better mood this morning! Rotation sounds killer, your workouts always do though.;)
BG, so you finally did a CC huh? Coach Sean rocks, plus he is one fine man he is!
Peggy, glad you got a good workout in this morning without any mishaps.
Hi to everyone else!
No workout today...at least that is the way it is looking. We have the entire sales group from France climbing aboard, plus the old Clinton advisor, his name is Joel Lockhart? I think I have met him before, they are all here to discuss the launch of our new product, then we are going to Coronado Island for lunch...its overcast though, so that means most of these people will be crowded onto the boat...something that quite frankly makes me nuts, alot of people in a small space---someone get me a Zanax!
Yes, I have weird space issues, hate places where alot of people are crammed into a small space, elevators are the worst...even large stadiums with alot of people kinda weirds me out, what if we all had to exit at the same time?? Hello, Tneah, your phobia's are showing!
Sorry, I woke up in a very odd sort of mood...
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj39/tneah/Family Pictures/Picture006.jpg
This is pic of Georgie when he was little...his first trip to the beach, we were at Laguana in CA! When he runs he gets this wild-eyed look! Isn't he sweet? I am in a "baby" mood as well today, thought the pic might make you all smile a bit.
Good morning, all!
Today is my rest day, and I think I need it. I'm feeling sore from my kettlebell workout yesterday. Last night our friends came over and we ended up ordering *naughty* pizza for dinner. Today I need to run a bunch of errands and then I'm meeting a friend from work for lunch at 1:00. I may actually eat lunch beforehand and just get coffee so I can be a bit healthier.
Oh, yes, some of those obscene smilies on Planet Smiley are really just . . . obscene!
Shelley -- I'm worried about ya', babe, since you're not posting again this morning. Let us help you get out of your funk if we can, OK? Miss you and love ya', chica! :)
Deb -- Oh no about little Keegan! Keep us posted on what the vet says, OK? I'll be sending my positive puppy healing vibes Keegan's way! Ah, another Bra Hater! ;-) I'm hoping that the BIL gets a job SOON, and then we'lll hopefully have the house to ourselves a bit more!
Peggie -- High 5's on doing the KB workout yesterday! Did you enjoy it? That's fantastic that you were able to do everything except the windmills with your super heavy KB! I'm impressed! It took me awhile to be able to do the windmills, too; I need to develop more strength to hold the KB up there. Like you, I also noticed that my left side is much weaker than my right. You shouldn't have any bruising on your forearms; do you think it's from doing the snatches? Try to remember to *punch* through the KB to help. Anthony has some great tutorials on this at http://www.artofstrength.com/tabid/178/Default.aspx that give some pointers.
Robin -- Sending you great big {{{HUGS}}}! Sorry that yesterday was such an awful day for you! Hopefully you can get to bed early tonight and get caught up on your sleep! I'll join Tneah in smacking whoever said that to you (sounds like what a DH would say!) across the head!
Allie -- Hooray for the AC working!! Woo hoo! That must be such a relief! Thanks for the push to go check out the Old Navy tanks. I'm not super huge, but I'm a 32D, which makes those built-in tank top thingies not always work for me. I have to buy mediums a lot in tops or they're too tight across the chest, but then they don't fit right all over. I haven't tried that 4DS Cardio Power workout, so I'll have to try it. I love the cardio portions from 4DS! Glad you got a good night's sleep, a great workout in, and feel so good this morning!!
Tneah -- I've been posting a lot, too, but it's just so much fun to chat with all you lovely ladies! Are you doing OK with all those folks descending you today? That is so many people to have to host! Will they be on the boat with you for a few days? I hope they don't keep you from chatting and playing with us today! Work, schmurck! Chatting with our Melters is so much more fun! ;-) LOL about that man smoking yesterday. How funny! ETA: Hey there! We were posting at the same time! Wow -- sounds like you'll have a full crowd today! Say "bonjour" to the French crew! Sorry that it'll be so stressful to have so many people on board. Maybe boot a few overboard if it starts to feel too cramped! ;-)
Shannon -- WTG on the arm workout yesterday! Those fresh blueberries sound so wonderful! Will you make something with them, or just eat them fresh?
Kristi -- We're going to miss you this weekend! :-( How did things end up going with the old computer? In your last post from yesterday, you said that you weren't sure if you'd be able to recover all your info from it. Were you able to? I hope so! And hooray on getting the new washer already! I know what you mean about trying not to stress about the small things after a life-changing event, but sometimes those small things can just add up really quickly and become really overwhelming. Sending you great big cheery {{{HUGS}}}! Driver's ed sounds scary! ;-)
BG -- Ah, I'm so tempted by all the talk of CC! I don't have a machine to do cardio on or an mp3 player, though, so I keep putting off buying one of the workouts. That is so funny that he says that scary stuff! I had no idea that that was how Coach Sean got people to run faster! ;-) Sorry your schedule on the van is odd today; hopefully you'll get a chance to check in and chat a bit! :)
Lainie Bug -- How is your mouth doing today, chica? How are the boys doing? I'll be heading to Target today, and will share any good finds I come across!
Oh, that picture of Baby Georgie is just too cute! What a great photo -- and it definitely made me smile!! :)
Kristi - sorry you're still feeling blue. I hope you get some down time during the conference to kick back and relax.
BG - welcome to Cardio Coach Land! woohoo! There's really nothing quite like it. If it wasn't for Coach Sean, I'd probably be crippled by now. He's the ONLY one who can keep me on that elliptical. And the elliptical gives me a great no-impact option when I'm suffering from one of my many injuries. :7 The barn houses two horses and a whole bunch of my dad's equipment, trailers, spare parts, etc.
Tneah - I'm totally with you about crowds. When it gets too bad, I just go outside and stand by myself and don't give a flip about what others think. Georgie looks like he was having so much fun! Was it a real job to get all the sand out of that long hair???
Leanne - have fun at lunch today. I think you should get a nice salad or something and enjoy your meal with your friend. I'm eating blueberries right now! I usually just eat them plain, but I'm getting so many that I'm freezing them - and after that, they're really only good for baking. Blueberry muffins, here I come! :9
Leanne--I agree with Shannon. EAT lunch with your friend. One of the greatest pleasures in life is eating with friends and family. Don't deny yourself that just because you had pizza last night. You work hard and deserve to enjoy yourself.
I mean it, missy....;)
Allison
http://www.picturetrail.com/allisonj90
Thanks, Allie and Shannon! You are both completely right! I'll just follow Shannon's suggestion and get something healthy like a nice salad! {{{HUGS}}} to you both, and to all our Melty Maidens!:*
Leanne, we were posting at the same time I think...again!:7 Yes, go enjoy yourself, I hate it when I have lunch with someone (DH's daughter is especially good at this, she goes on and off the South Beach diet is is really a picky eater) and they just have well, nothing!:) Eat up woman, eating is one of life's biggest pleasures, there are always healthy options, a nice salad sounds divine!:9 The place we eat at the Hotel Del makes this incredible grilled shrimp salad with asparagus, black olives, tomatoes, and two pieces of these amazing cheese crackers, you know I will be scarfing on that today...:D
LOL about tossing them overboard...yep, not a bad idea actually...I love France, but the French are a really different in their personalities. We have an RD that works for the company, she and I are friends, but she is really pushy...everyone says its "the French way". Oh, and the women really are so chic, they have this underlying elegance that makes me feel like a clumsy dork.:7 I do not mean to clump a whole country into one or two sentences of course, its just been my own personal experience with them over the years.
Shannon, I do the same thing, I go off by myself. I wish I could come visit you, I would love to see your horses, take walks, pick blueberries, I love where you live, it sounds so wonderful!:)
Allie is "chillin out" today huh?:p *snort* Yeah, that really wasn't funny...
Ok, off to shower, DH forgot to fill the water tanks last night, so am waiting for them to fill so I have water to shower...bye guys, I will sneak away today and see whats shakin' in melty land. I am worried about Shellers and Robin and Kristi today...
Tneah - if you ever find yourself headed down south, you had just better come and visit me! I don't suppose the business brings you to Arkansas very often, does it? :p
Hey all...
I was in training all morning for our fancy new copier. That machine can do some really awesome things!
So, yesterday, I got to pick Sophie up, and she had a bad headache. She gets pressure headaches when there's a system moving in. Anyway, got her home, she went to bed and slept all night, until 2:45 a.m., when I heard "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.... I'M HUNGRY". So there I was at 2:45, making her a sandwich and glass of milk. I didn't get up to work out this morning. I also didn't work out yesterday. I must do something tonight, as I'm feeling bloated and vile.
I'll try to get back in a bit for personals, but just wanted to send (((hugs))) to Robin. How dare anyone tell you to grow up!
Tneah – I hear you on the lotsa people, little space thing. Hope you have a low-stress day in spite of it! LOVE the pic of baby Georgie! What a sweetheart! You got that right on French folks – I dined once with a French lady (friend of some friends) and they took her to a BBQ place where you eat off the table essentially (they roll out some big huge paper and you slop it all around like a big huge freakin pig) and your only utensil is a serrated knife… well, she was magical how she handled it. I felt like the biggest klutz.
Leanne – it’s not exactly “scary”, that CC stuff. It just spooked me a little because I wasn’t awake, it was dark and lonely, and it creeped me a little. But yes, they’re AWESOME. You could use it for a walk or jog outside, if you’re into that sort of thing. For the inclines, he says if you’re outside you can just do walking lunges. But yes, CC rocks. I’m going to buy more. LOTS more. Good for you for enjoying your pizza. Did you have fun with the newlyweds?? And YES – eat with your friend. Life is TOO SHORT. :D
Shannon – cool! Do you ride? One of our docs (retired anesthesiologist) is a “horse whisperer” (actually he’s a Natural Horesmanship Instructor), and he’s well-known. He does demos and stuff at shows, etc. He says he teaches people, not horses. :D www.gradycarter.com YES. LOVE THE CC!!! Wished I hadn’t waited so long to try it.
Shelley – really good to see you here!!! Sorry you had a rough night, but you’re a great momma! ;)
Hi to everyone to follow! BBL
BG - oh wow - you know a guy who teaches Natural HorseManShip? I have a book written by Pat what's his name - it's excellent. But I never use it. Sigh. No, I don't ride and haven't in ages. My favorite "baby" is actually an old girl with arthritis now, and the other one... well... she's never been trained. Sigh. I started, but somehow I just lost interest and never finished her up. Bad me. And now she's ummmm 10? 11? Something like that.
Well, I'm starting to feel a little more human. Sorry if I worried some of you. Sometimes it just all gets to be too much to handle and I have to have a little pity party for Robin.
Peggie, I've only done PH once, but I know it make me sore!
Deb, I sure hope nothing is wrong with the little Spit!
Allison, yay for AC and a good night's sleep. I get one every fifth night or so. I think I'm about due. Maybe tonight.
Shannon, it was a "man" who shall remain nameless. He just doesn't get how frantic it makes me to turn the key and have nothing happen. It must have a "phobia" name, autobreakaphobia?
Kristi, did the computer stuff get saved? Misery loves company and I at least feel a bit more normal to hear about your co-funkdomness. Hopes yours is on it's way out the door, like mine seems to be.
BG, is that the CC where the tribe awaits you at the top of the mountain (umma,gumma)? That always makes me laugh.
Tneah, I hope you survived your crowd. I used to love crowds when I was younger, but not so much anymore. I loved Georgie's "when he was little" picture. I guess his size is all relative.
Leanne, yes, it does sound like something a DH would say, doesn't it? I'll never tell. I hope you enjoyed your lunch.
Shelley, hugs back at you! Is your cloud lifting? I hate feeling so gloomy. It makes me feel guilty, which makes me feel worse. It's a vicious circle.
Time for me to head home. I'm not sure what workout will get done. I missed my cardio day yesterday, but don't feel like lifting today. Guess I'll see what jumps off the shelf. Later all.
