Cathlete
Good Morning,

Getting us started. I did a 40 min I-Tread this morning.. hope to bb in a bit after I see what went on around here yesterday!

Deb

Goodmorning Deb and all who follow.

Deb, how did Keegan do at puppy school?

Tneah, I'm absolutely ROFLOL at your overuse of the word nipple. Hmmm, is there a synonym? I think I prefer it to teat. Sorry time got away from you yesterday. I hate when that happens. I'm such a time freak. I HATE to be late and usually end up embarrasingly early.

Allison, {{{hugs}}}. Don't worry, one of the job requirements for being a mother is making your children crazy.

Leanne, here's the recipe. I couldn't get back on the computer last night. DD was hogging it.

Roasted Tomato Tart

1 9 inch pie shell
1 tsp minced garlic
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
2 lb fresh tomatoes
2 Tbls. olive oil
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1 egg, seperated
1 package Boursin cheese
2 Tbls. basil leaves

Heat oven to 425. Pierce bottom and sides of pie shell with fork and chill 30 minutes.

Combine oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Slice tomatoes in 1/2 inch slices. Arrange on rack in shallow baking pan. Brush with seasoned oil and roast until slightly shriveled, about 30 minutes. (This smoked a lot for me. I had to run the oven fan.)

Bake pie shell 10 minutes. Reduce oven to 350.

Blend cheeses, egg yolk and basil. Beat egg white until frothy and stir into cheese mixture.

Arrange tomato slices in pie shell. Pour cheese mixture over and smooth off top. Bake 35 minutes until set. (Will not brown) Cool before cutting.

I'm getting my hair cut and colored after work and really have to do some grocery shopping after that. I'm not sure that will leave any time for a workout. If so, it will be some kind of upper body work. See you all later....

Morning all...

Sorry I didn't get back yesterday. Crazy day all round and last night Chris had work to do on the computer.

Tneah - I loathe being late too. And like Robin am usually embarassingly early. The gift for the bride sounds awesome!

Allie - what the heck is going on, girl? Come talk to us!

Robin - the tomato tart sounds heavenly!

Kristi - how cute that you did a fashion show of your RT gear for the family! Trust me, nobody really looks at what anyone (except Cathe) is wearing! I can't afford a bunch of new stuff so I guess I'll be taking whatever is least ratty:p

Deb - how is puppy class going?

Leanne - are you on IL countdown?

Kara - I hope your 24/7 week with Emma is going well! Come say hi if you can!

Lainie - how cool that your DH had a mohawk in college:p I dated a guy when I was 17 who had a HUGE mohawk. His mom cut it off when he was sleeping one night:p I wish we had Target. Then again, maybe that would be dangerous.

Well, my eating is awful and I haven't worked out in a couple of days, I'm completely scattered... maybe I'm going through a mid-life crisis. Or maybe it's PMS.

Hello Melters.

Thank GOD, it's Wednesday!! I'm supposed to be in a parade on Sat but it might rain so I'm looking forward to chilling that day, after the big event.

Monday, coming into Detroit, we had bad storm. Detroit Metro delayed flights after we left Albany so when the plane landed, nothing was moving. About 300plus planes just sitting there due to lightening and rain. We sat out on the tar mat for about 30 minutes. Then, the airlines changed gates too. Fortunately, I wasn't late for my final flight and my luggage made it. Sunday, during Morgan's party, there were severe t-storms and tornado watches out but she was the party girl. My Sat flights were near perfect weather over Canada and NY.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi,

I'm back. I was up at 4:00 and did a 40 min I-Tread..I am sorry I did not get back last night.. time seems to get away from me and before I know it, it is time for bed! This household is officially on "K-Time" where everything revolves around an 8 pound little spitfire!

Robin:
I'm with you on the tats..what will they do when they are 70 and skin is sagging etc..love the picture of you, your DH, a baby and a cat stomping on your head in bed!:7 LOL on the "fragile" quote..one of my favorite movies..I think they play it for a week straight here at Xmas time,

Shelly:
Now I don;t mind tats on guys, it the girls that bother me...how sexist is that?:+ I love the talk about men's hair, mohawks etc..my DH was from Calif and came to Buffalo for dental school..his pics from then are a huge long curly mop of hair. too funny!

Allison:
Glad you got a good nights sleep! What happened on the call with your Mom? is everything ok?

Shannon:
I hope the work thing is resolved..nothing like that overshadowing your life!

Leanne:
Love the haircut! I wish I was brave enough to go shorter..with wavy hair you have to have someone who really knows hot to cut. Puppy class was fun. There were only 2 other dogs so it was nice to be able to work with them a lot. DH is the "trainer". I will take pics next week and hopefully post them here.

Lainie:
Our TArget Queen! They must know you by name there! I would rather be an XL on top and M on the bottom..I am a S or M on top and a M or L on bottom depending on what it is.. you know the old "pear shape:?

Kristi:
I totally agree with your name for Target! I love that store but can;t go in without spending way too much.

Tneah:
Where will Georgie go while you are gone? The sexy undies will be much appreciated, but..Nipple balm..I hate to ask..:+

Have a great day!

Deb;-)

Good morning!

Robin - those tarts sound delicious! I wonder if I could convince my dear mom to make them? Cooking makes me so impatient! :p

Shelley - maybe if you get that mid-life crisis over with early, you'll be able to enjoy the rest of your life? Hey, we've got to find something positive here!

Deb - how is that little spitfire doing, anyhow? It sounds like he's got the entire household wrapped around his little paw! :7

Well, the work issue is resolved and all is well. But I also found out that there are more changes in the works for our department. My director told me that in confidence. Great. I guess it'll work out one way or the other. Besides, I've got some plans of my own that should shake things up a bit. Never a dull moment!!! :7

Yesterday when I was driving to work, I came around a corner, on the rural road I take to get to the highway. There were two deer - one was a buck with a pretty good-sized set of antlers. The two of them turned and, from a standstill, leaped over a 5-ft barbed wire fence. And you think Cathe has spring-loaded legs!!

I'm still working on the 4DS this week, but subbing 30-min CC segments for the cardio. I really like it that way, because honestly, I'm just not too impressed with the 4DS cardio. Using CC really gives me a good workout! Today will be the BC/bi's and tri's. I think I'll use CC 6.

All right. Later, taters.

Good morning,
I feel like crap this morning. I fell asleep on my kitchen floor last night after a slight meltdown. I'm so tired. My eyes are all swollen and I feel like I haven't slept in years.

Sorry if I alarmed anyone last night. I can be slightly mellowdramatic. I had a very, very emotional converstation with my Mother last night on the phone and it just tore me to shreads. She just doesn't get it. I don't think she ever will. Oh, yeah--and I asked her straight out if she was dating that guy she keeps hanging out with. She said yes. Great. She's not even divorced yet. But according to her "my Dad knows all about it and he's fine with it". Ya. Sure. Whatever. She says the legal proceedings of the divorce and paperwork involved could take a very long time and she's not about to put her life on hold for it. Understandable, but still hard for me. Like the dissolution of her marriage isn't enough for me to handle, and she has to bring some random third party into it. So unfair.

Ok, if I get more into this I'm going to start crying again. BBL I'm sure.

Allison

Good morning, all,
I've got to be quick here, and I don't know when I'll be back. I'm about to do Low Max (wish me luck -- remember, I'm step-impaired:)). I have to do laundry (my washer is making so much noise that I think my neighbors can hear it). And my computer keeps restarting itself randomly. I have to get my hair cut and colored today -- YEA! Then I need to run errands. When I get home, I MUST do a lot of computer work for National Charity League, a mother-daughter philanthropic organization to which the girls and I belong and of which I am Vice-President of Communications. I am responsible for the directory, and I have been seriously procrastinating uploading and editing everyone's mother-daughter photos, among other things. So that's my day.

Tneah -- you make me LOL with your venting -- you are just hilarious. I also hate being late and hate people who are late!! The goodies you got for the bride sound so nice -- you are such a sweetie! I hope you have a good day today -- I'm sure you'll be busy getting ready to go on your trip!

Allison -- You poor, sweet girl! You've really had a rough couple of weeks. Sending you big {{{HUGS}}}. I wish I could be there to be a shoulder to cry on, but you know we are all here for you! Robin is sooo right about mothers making their kids crazy! It sounds like she's having a big mid-life/identity crisis herself! Hang in there!

Robin -- that tart looks delicious!!! I hope you enjoy your hair appt. as much as I plan to enjoy mine. As I've said before, I let the color go too long because I was in the sun and pool so much training for the Challenge, so I am soooo excited to have it done today!

Shelley -- I'm not sure I could *afford* new things for RT, but because I run outdoors in Texas in most of my stuff, it really doesn't take it too long to stink. (TMI) I didn't want everyone to notice me because I was the stinky girl (standing in the back, falling off her step). :) I hope today is a better day for you -- better eating, less scattered, etc!

Jennifer -- Your flight sounds frustrating, but I'm glad you and your luggage made it. What kind of parade are you supposed to be in?

Deb -- Wow -- I don't know how you can work out at 4:00 in the morning!! You're amazing! Loved your reference to "K-time" -- funny that something so small can have such a huge impact!

Shannon -- I'm so glad your work issue is resolved. Aren't deer beautiful? We see them occasionally in our neighborhood if we go out to run early enough. You mentioned your mom cooking -- is she doing better than she was a couple of weeks ago?

Hi to Leanne, Kara, & Lainie! I'll pop in later to catch up with y'all!

Morning again! From my desk at work, which will hopefully not be as crazed as yesterday!

Deb - puppy class sounds great! My dogs need some serious training. I should bring them on down to you one day! Maybe you could whip them into shape.:) I don't mind some tats on women (especially since I have one!). Mine's in a place that hopefully won't sag too much (lower back, righ hand side, right at my pant waist line). I actually forget I have it because I can't see it.

Allie - sending {{{hugs}}} to you. This is really hitting you hard. I'm not sure I should say this, but I was your mom a few years ago. Except Sophie was 3, not 24. And I know that your dad is hurting, but trust me when I say that though you may not understand them, your mom has her reasons for leaving. I'm willing to bet that there's a lot you don't know about your parents' relationship. I'm just playing devil's advocate here, so please dont' be mad at me. I'm just saying maybe you should cut your mom a little slack. I'm sorry if I'm way outta line.

Kristi - sounds like a busy day ahead for you! Good luck with Lowmax. I'm LOL about you being the stinky woman falling off your step on the RT!!!

Shannon - so when do we get to hear about these things you have up your sleeve?

Hello everyone. I have just a few minutes before I have to go see the nurse practitioner for my physical. I managed to trot over to the post office and library already this morning after getting Isaac on the bus, so I feel sort of productive today. I hope to get in some fun KPC later today--might have to wait until Ewan naps, though I may try it when we get back from the doc's office.

Right now Ewan is watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and seems completely mesmerized by it. I have a lot of Clean Max to get done before July 4th (when we're having a party) so I am sure I'll be doing that today, too.

Robin, mmm, yummy-sounding tomato recipe--going to have to save that.

Shelley, yeah, DH went through a few odd haircuts in college, including having a fancy-looking B shaved into his hair. That one was so he could line up with some other guys from his dorm and spell R.A.B. (because they called themselves the Moses Hall Red Ass Bastards). Umm, yeah, weird stuff at his school. Probably a good thing I didn't meet him until later. All I did in college was color my hair a variety of colors. Actually, I tended to prefer long-haired or scruffy goateed guys (sad when your boyfriend's hair is prettier than your own) but I ended up marrying Brian who now shaves his balding head.

OK, just realized I gotta go pretty soon. Will have to come back to finish personals later.

Just for fun I'm linking to video of Ewan singing: http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g76/lainiefig/Videos of Boys/?action=view&current=MVI_0020.flv

Morning All!:)

Deb, cannot wait to see little Keegan in puppy school...whatta fun time that was!Spoken like a true "doggy parent" huh? Which itread did you do? Oh, and the "nipple balm" oops, there I go again!:p I would imagine, its for the groom...uh, in case he gets chapped lips?}( Kinda of a fun way to apply it right?:p OK I will stop...

Shelley, my DH has no hair to speak of, he has pretty silver hair on the sides, but the top? Well, not alot there, I think its migrating to his eyebrows, inside his ears and nose! heehee

Robin, the tart sounds fabulous, did you enjoy it with a nice glass of white? I would imagine with my limited knowledge of wine parings that a pinot or reisling would taste wonderful...but then again, I think anything tastes wonderful with white wine.;)

Shannon, I think you deserve a promotion and raise! Sounds like they want you around and depend on you, hit 'em up girl.:) And how awesome you got to witness such a beautiful spectacle! When we lived in SLC, I looked outside one winter, and in the lot next to us stood a young male moose! I only like LIS from 4DS because it taught me alot of Cathe's step moves she uses in other workouts, but they feel a little short don't they? Especially the kickbox, but honestly on some days short is good.

Allison, I am so sorry you are hurting. My dad and first step mom went through the same thing....but I always thought if I can one day see my dad really happy, all of this pain will be worth it. He was so miserable with her. I know it sucks now, but your mom is probably just as hurt as your dad and is acting out by dating already, which is one of the ways people who have been married forever and then get divorced act. I know this from my own experience. The best thing you can do it make your feelings known, and be there for both of them. Easier said than done I know, just sending you ((hugs)) and asking you to talk about whenever you want okay?

Hi to the rest of our melters today!

I am taking DH to the airport this morning, he has a meeting in SLC today, will be coming back tonight.
I am sore everywhere today, but need to fit in one last workout since I will not be working out the rest of the week. Will probably finish up my upper body with Cross Train Express (again, what a well though out and great bunch of workouts!)and another Cathe cardio since I will not be spending time with her for the next few months.

Oh, so DH sat and watched a DVD the broker of one of the boats sent him...for three hours last night! Over and over, he is very obsessive when he gets an idea in his head, which is why our products sell so well quite frankly. But this boat? We will go see it in Florida. I think it might be the "one". We would have to sell our boat and our house here in Vegas and live on board...like forever. Fine with me, but again, no room for my Cathe, I would have to go to the gym again, but told DH that meant I would go on the Cathe RT's now for sure!

Ok, off to the races, bbl...Lainie and I were posting at the same time, hi Lainie!

:) :7

Good morning, everyone!

Sorry I didn't get back here yesterday, but we didn't get home last night until almost 8:30. My DF and his wife bought a house down the street from where they're at now, and we showed up yesterday morning thinking we'd just end up helping them move a few more fragile things. Well, my dad had canceled the movers, so he, my uncle, and Mike moved everything until 7:00 P.M. last night. I helped his wife pack up the kitchen, where I found that she had taken a bunch of my mom's things from our old house (cookbooks, my mom's special plates, etc.). It was very frustrating and made me so sad and angry.

Tomorrow afternoon the BIL and in-laws arrive. UG! Today we still need to clean out the closet in the guest bedroom, but that's where DH keeps his shoes and jackets, so it'll mostly be him having to move stuff. I'll try to enjoy this last day of not having indefinite company. Maybe I should walk around the house today naked all day . . . nah, that wouldn't be a pleasant sight! :)

Lainie -- How was Drill Max yesterday? Did you end up doing it? I know what you mean about a lack of a tan. ;-) My clothes also end up being weird sizes -- the boobage esp. makes it hard to buy tops, and you've got a lot more going on up top than me, you lucky gal! ;-)

Robin -- Hooray for getting the spider web thingies down yesterday! Do you like Strike Zone any better after doing it a second time? Thank you SOOOO much for posting that recipe! It looks delicious, and I can't wait to try it out.

Tneah -- What a great idea to ship your dresses to Florida. We're going to miss you!!! :-( What an awful day you had running all those errands yesterday in the heat! At least Georgie probably looks very dapper, and that lingerie you bought for the bride sounds sexay and gorgeous! OK, so if Deb won't ask, I will -- what in the world is nipple balm?! Kristi has a great idea -- you should take us all lingerie shopping! Like Robin, I'm laughing at your use of "nipple," too. You're too cute and funny!!

Jennifer -- Glad you got back safely!

Deb -- Glad puppy class went well! We'd love to see photos when you have time! Are things going better with your DF and his wife? I'm sorry that that is such an upsetting situation for you!

Shelley -- Sorry that yesterday was so crazy, but I'm glad that today is going better for you. The BIL and IL's arrive tomorrow -- can you hear the screams from here? ;-) I'm like you and Robin -- always super early to show up.

Kristi -- Sorry that yesterday was a hard day eating. Do you think that you're just tired? Aren't the colored mixers cute? I also love pink -- and I love your screen name! :) Yes, please post some photos of your vacation! They'd be so much fun to see! OMG -- I love that you did a fashion show for your family of your new workout duds! That is not dorky at all -- it's adorable! And I'm sure you won't be the stinky girl falling off her step in back -- but that image did make me laugh! Did you make it through Low Max? Hooray for getting your hair done today!

Shannon -- Glad all is going well with work -- and that there is still a work to go to! :) Seriously, though, you are probably good at your job that there is probably no way they'd want to get rid of you. How cool to have seen those deer!

Kara -- We've missed you! Hope that the remodeling isn't too awful!:)

Allie -- Oh, Allie! I'm so, so sorry that you're going through so much right now, and that your mom isn't being understanding at all! I wish there was something I could do -- like come over there, take you out for lunch and some shopping! Please keep checking in with us today, and let us know if you need a lift. Maybe we could all do something fun to get a positive vibe going, or is that just silly? :) I hate to change the subject, but you had asked yesterday about the KB workouts. I've been trying to work the KB workout into a longer week, where I'm also working legs twice a week. I based my current rotation off of Strong Like a Bull, which I know you're also doing. :) So here is what this week looks like, to give you an idea:

Day 1 PS Legs (no abs)
Day 2 PS Chest/Sh/Tris + abs
Day 3 Cardio
Day 4 Leaner Legs
Day 5 PS Back/Bis + Abs
Day 6 Cardio
Day 7 KB workout (inc. abs)
Day 8 Rest

OK, now I'm starving, so I better go make my oatmeal. I missed you all so much yesterday that I wanted to check in first thing this morning so I could see what you've all been up to. Now time to EAT! :9 Love and smooches to all you wonderful women, and I'll be around all day today, checking in!

Oh Shelley, you are NOT way out of line. This may sound crazy but I'm thrilled to hear you say what you said. It is so hard for me to be angry at my Mom. I don't want to be--I love her so much and I really am beyond thrilled to see her finally happy again. I know she's been miserable for a very long time and I'm so glad she's found what makes her happy. And I like hearing that other people have gone through similar things. It makes me feel like my Mom's not crazy--lots of people go through this and feel/felt just like she feels. I'm so torn with my own emotions. Many of my siblings are very hurt and angry at her...but for reasons that have nothing to do with me. Why should I be angry at my Mom for things that went on between her and my siblings? I'm trying not to talk to my sisters about it at this point. My opinions and emotions are so easily swayed right now that if I talk to them and hear they're mad then I get mad. If they're happy, I'm happy.

I can't tell you how much better I feel right now after reading your post. It's so nice to hear that other people have felt like my Mom. I completely agree with you when you say there are TONS of things that have gone on between my parents that I know nothing about. There's been a lot of hurt and upset between the two of them. All I know is what's happening now.

And you know what? I actually really like her boyfriend. It kills me to say that. I can't tell my sisters that because they think I'm crazy and totally backstabbing my Dad. It's hard to like someone that is, in a way, a symbol of my parent's break up and our family's turmoil. But I do. He's very nice and abosultely adores my Mom. And she adores him.

Thank you for writing what you did. I feel much more at peace right now. I don't know if you remember when I posted in the OD about whether divorce equals sueing (sp?) but there was a woman who posted who feels just like my Mom. It was really nice to hear her side of the story and her point of view. It's just reassuring to hear that other people can relate to my Mom and she hasn't completely gone off the deep end.

Love you guys.

Allison

http://www.picturetrail.com/allisonj90

Allie - oh, I'm SO relieved you're not mad at me. See, when my ex- and I split up, he played the victim role so well that everyone believed I was a complete and utter witch, including my whole family. I'm glad you're happy for your mom. And don't worry. The family will eventually come to terms with everything. Until then, you can come and tell us how you're feeling:)

Leanne - oh, how sad about your dad's new wife taking some of your mom's things.:( {{{hugs}}} to you. That must be so hard. I'm all for doing something fun today to create a positive vibe! Maybe we should all just say nipple a few more times!:p

Lainie - sounds like you're having a productive day so far! Keep it going! I'm LOL about Brian and his RAB guys!

O.M.G. Shelley, that picture has me wetting my pants!!! It needs to be blown up into a poster and some kind of witty, sappy encouraging statement added.

Allie, I was thinking what Shelley put so well into words. Your mom and dad's relationship has secrets you would never imagine. It's sad, but it happens. Try to stay neutral and love them both. It extra hard for you right now, with your own break-up, school, work etc. Things will get better.

Kara, are you out there? Hope things are sane at your house.

Tneah, did you ship toiletries too? I think that is what added most of the weight to our packages. It sure isn't cost effective, but it sure helps keep the sanity.

Lainie, RAB is funny. I went to a Penn State branch campus that had a 2 year forestry school. Those guys were a riot. One guy once locked his room mate out of their room, so he took an ax to the door. They used to have Viking night in the dining hall where they would eat all their food with their hands. When one of the gang had a birthday, they would tie him to a chair and hoist him on top of the dining hall table and feed him, most of the food landing on him. One guy thought they were going to do the same thing to him on his birthday. No one liked this guy, so instead of putting him on the table, they threw him into the dumpster behind the dorm. I think it was a couple of hours till someone heard him yelling. Hmmmm, looking back, they were more animals then men. But they seemed funny at the time.

Shelley, that pic is hilarious!:p What a bunch of great guys! I spotted Chris right away..he is in the black tee-shirt with something white on the front right? Thanks for your sage advice regarding Allison's situation...divorce sucks and there is always two sides to the story..."nipple" ha! Said it again.:7
I have no idea why I gave you the rundown on my DH's hair situation, perhaps I thought it would take your mind off PMS if only for 5 seconds.
:p

Robin, yep, I packed and shipped my gels, hairspray, makeup, etc...I did not want to put them into those tiny bottles, I never travel...so of course I have to have my arsenal of beauty products with me to ease my anxiety...and I wanted them to arrive safe and sound not get tossed in the trash at security.*warning* I use the word "teats" below.

Jennifer, you are in a parade? Do you get to wear a costume?

Leanne, how horrid that woman did not offer your mom's things to you first darn it. That is plain rude and inconsiderate. I would have said something right then and right there. I am not loving your dad's new wife...but then again, I have never been crazy about either of my dad's wives, but I am crazy about him, so I put up with them.x( So tomorrow is the big day huh? Crap.I have to admit I am looking forward to your constant updates concerning BIL though...:p You poor thing, I would be going insane right about now. Sorry you guys had to do all the unpacking and moving...yukkers. Good exercise though right? And your rotation looks great! Oh,and the way I explained "nipple balm" (said it again!) to Deb...I believe its for the grooms chapped lips}( Or maybe its like "udder balm" like the farmers rub on their cows "overworked" teats?:7 :7 Oh dear, I am crackin' myself up here.

It actually tastes good, so in case the groom is hungry....well, what better way for both parties to "scratch their itch" than a little nipple balm?:7

Kristi, have fun getting your hair done! Have them deep condition you since you spent so much time in the pool, your hair will thank you for it! Post pic of your fine arse self afterwards please.:)

Lainie, sending you "healthy vibes" on your doctor's trip...hopefully you can pinpoint what is causing your extreme fatigue.

*skips out of thread* "Nipple, nipple, nipple, nipple, nipple":7 }(

Nipple! :)

Shelley -- I am SOOO sorry to hear that your ex put you through all that, and made you out to be the awful one. {{{HUGS}}}! Oh, what a great laugh that photo is! How cool that they all did the mohawks! Robin's right -- it needs to be blown up and given a witty statement! :)

Allie -- I'm so glad that Shelley's post helped! Sending you more love and {{{HUGS}}}, sweetie!

Robin -- What funny stories about those forestry guys. Who would have known they'd be so wild?!

Lainie -- Another great story about the RAB guys! :)

Did you ladies see on the Blog update that the forum might be down for TWO WHOLE DAYS! Yikes! What are we going to do when we can't check in with each other for THAT LONG?! x(

OK, off to do some beading! :)

Tneah - yup, that's him.

Okay, we officially win the "Thread using the word 'nipple' the most times" award!!

Why didn't I see the rundown on your DH's hair? I'm off to look again at yesterday's ramblings!
