RE:

Leanne, do you have any kind of "ground rules" set for your BIL's stay? And don't be afraid to make him a little "uncomfortable" about his stay. Like maybe you and your DH can have noisy sex on the kitchen table....

{{{Shelley}}}Once again, I have to remind you how lucky you were to have a mother you were close to and to try to cherish the good memories. I'm not sure how I'll feel when my mom is gone, other than guilty that we aren't closer.

Kara, I'd be more excited about the new fridge if we didn't have to drill holes in it to mount a lock right away. **Sigh** Sorry about you having to put up with your DH's not-getting-it family. My DH's family doesn't really get it either, but they didn't make me feel uncomfortable. I have a cheap step at my SIL's and when we go there every summer, I have no qualms about moving their furniture around so I can visit with Cathe for an hour each day.

Allie, I think Tneah gave you excellent advice. I agree that you will have your degree before you know it. I almost dropped out of college my senior year. I was sick of school, missing my then SO/now DH and couldn't see the point of my degree. DH talked me out of it and I wouldn't be where I am now if I hadn't stuck with it. {{{Extra hugs}}} over your parent's situation.

RE:

It really bothers me to see how much sadness there is here. I'm so sorry, everyone.

RE:

Shannon,
Don't be sorry. For some reason your post brought tears to my eyes. *I'm* sorry to be such a downer. I'll get out of this funk, I'm sure. Time heals all, right? :)

So I finally found the Valerian root that Leanne said I should try. I'm so excited to try it. Just the prospect of maybe sleeping through the night has me all giddy. I'm all set for tonight now with my Valerian Root and Bedtime Tea. :) I don't know if the tea really helps, but it sure is tasty and calming.

Tneah--I'm so excited to get whatever it is you sent me! I love getting things in the mail. Why are you so good to me? Sending out free stuff to some chick you don't know who's 3000 miles away. Man, you're a sweetheart. :)

So I have another ailment to complain about. My throat is killing me. But not in the typical sore throat way. I feel like I got punched in the throat. It hurts to swallow and just generally hurts all the time. The pain kind of radiates from the base of my hairline at the back of my neck all the way around and seems to be the worst under my chin and on my throat. Anyone know what the heck it could be? It's pretty darn painful. If I even touch my throat where my adam's apple would be (if I had one) I wince in pain. Ugh.

Ok, back to happy thoughts of a sleep-filled night. Aahhhhhh......:)

RE:

Shannon's right! We do seem like such a sad group today! :-( What could we all chat about that would make us feel happy?? I'm trying to think of maybe something fun we could share or do or talk about . . . any ideas??

Shelley -- Sending you {{{HUGS}}} and love!

Allie -- Sending you {{{HUGS}}} and love, too! Edited: We were just posting at the same time! Sounds like you need to head to the Dr., sweetie! Are there white streaks or pus in your throat? Sounds like it could be strep. Can you leave work a bit early to go in or go into urgent care after work? A virus could be making you feel even worse! I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. You need a nice bit of rest! Just be warned that the valerian root is really stinky -- I read something about it on-line where they said it smelled like stinky feet. Pee-ew! But it really works if you take the recommended dose an hour before bed. Now get yourself to a Dr.! Those symptoms do not sound good!

Kristi -- Thanks for the kind words about the BIL!:) So that's not too weird about the bra thing?! I'm hoping that he'll buy some of his own food while he's here, but he's not planning on paying rent or contributing in any way. I don't mind that so much -- just wish he wasn't planning on staying for so long! The wedding yesterday wasn't the one that I need to (still!) get a dress for. That one will be in early July. I ended up not ordering the one from Ann Taylor since I wasn't sure how that style would fit. In the second photo I posted, DH and I are on the far right; I'm wearing black capris and a blue top. How are you and Todd doing today? You made it!!! Woo-hoo! Are you in super-celebratory mood? I really think that you two should treat yourselves to some super massages. Or, if you don't want to spend the money, you could pick up some nice massage oil and give each other some nice back rubs.}( Your celebration last night sounds fabulous, and that red leather chair sounds gorgeous. Do you think that Katie's ankle will be alright? Thanks for sending the info about the other protein powders! I really hope you like that Carribean Cooler one. It's my new favorite; I just made it with 1 cup water, 1 med. frozen banana, 1/2 c frozen pineapple, 1 scoop powder, and some xanthan gum. Yummy!:9 Hooray for not having to drink GU or Gatorade or having to swim and run! And what fun it will be to have your hair done next week!

Shannon -- How is work going? Did lighting those fires yesterday help? ;-)

Tneah -- I just saw your post from last night. For some reason, it wasn't displaying this morning. I'm glad your Dr. visit went well, and hopefully you'll be feeling back to normal soon. Sending you {{{HUGS}}}, chica! You seem quiet and blue lately, and not your usual chatty self. Hope you're OK! :)

Robin -- LOL about your comment about sex on the kitchen table! Maybe we should try that! ;-) I was thinking again this morning, as I was pounding around doing Imax 3, that Imax 3 really would be a great workout to do early on Saturday mornings. Did I mention that my workout room is almost directly above our guest bedroom?}( We do need to set up some rules, though, so thanks for the advice. Good luck getting the fridge in tomorrow! Keep us posted on how it goes!

RE:

Allie - my first thought was tension. It can cause some nasty headaches. But it also can do some other pretty funky stuff. I thought "tension" because you said it goes all the way around your neck, which makes me think your neck muscles are all tightening up. Heaven knows you're under enough stress.

Leanne - lighting those fires sent a blaze through the entire department (another one, not mine)and really got some people hopping. }( I got what I need. :7

RE:

Leanne -- Yea, I picked you out in the photo!! I just wanted to be sure I was right. :) Totally not weird about the bra -- sometimes I'd die if the UPS or Fed Ex man saw me in what I have on during the day! I'm really not all that sore today -- last night I could barely walk. Going up and down the stairs is tough, though! Nothing feels "wrong" like it's injured or anything, which is awesome!!!! I'm still considering that massage, but your other idea sounds even better. }( I'm sure my DD will be fine; it seems one of them gets hurt every time they go anywhere -- I'm just glad it didn't require any real medical attention. My other DD just called; she sounded like she's having fun. She said her sister's leg is all bruised and scratched up. I'm going to try your smoothie as soon as the Fed Ex man brings it. :) Have you tried the yogurt machine yet?

Allison -- I'm so sorry about your throat -- I thought strep first, but stress makes sense, too. Maybe you should have a dr. check things out.

RE:

Allie - for goodness' sake, get thee to a medical professional about that pain! That's not good!

Thank you all for the hugs. Tneah, I got your PM and responded. Thanks:)

Robin - I'm all too aware how lucky I am that I had such a wonderful relationship with my mom. That makes it harder that she's gone, unfortunately. People tell me to think of the good times but all that does is make me sad because there won't be any more good times.:( And I feel guilt too. I remember the times I said things I shouldn't have, or was frustrated and lashed out. Anyway...

Leanne - I think sex on the kitchen table and Imax 3 early on Saturdays are perfect ideas!

RE:

Shelley -- Please, please don't beat yourself up! You know, I'll go through phases like that (esp. right after my mom died), where I think of all the times I was snarky or snippy to my mom or when I didn't make time to go visit with her -- like I was an awful daughter. But you need to remember that those moments don't matter or count. Your mom KNEW how much you loved her, she KNEW what a great relationship you two had, and she KNEW that you were an amazing, special person who would continue to always hold her in your heart. Please know that your mom loved you! I'm so sorry, sweetie! I know how awful that pain is -- how it just hurts so badly and how there are moments when you don't know how you can go on without her. But your mom is there watching over you, and she knows how much you loved her! She did!!! Love you, babe!!!

Shannon -- Glad that those slackers at work are steppin' things up! ;-) You're so sweet, though, that I can't even see you sending out any sort of fire-lighting emails! :)

Allie -- Shannon and Kristi sound right that it could be a really nasty tension headache, but I think Shelley's got the right idea -- get thee to a Dr.! And please don't feel like you can't be open with your feelings around us! We're your friends, and please know that we're here to cheer you up, OK? Sending you some :* :* :* !

Kristi -- Oh, what a huge relief that Katie's leg isn't as bad as it could have been. I'm glad that they're both having fun at camp -- and I hope that you and Todd can enjoy some alone time this week, once you get your strength back!}( Wow -- I'm surprised that you're even attempting stairs! Maybe a day on the couch with some good ol' Ben & Jerry's to keep you company would be in order! ;-) I haven't tried the yogurt machine yet since I still have four cartons of Trader Joe's Greek yogurt in the fridge. I figure that I should finish that off first, but I'm so eager to play with the machine! If I get busy with eating the stuff I already have, then maybe I'll be ready to play with the machine in the next couple of days. Fun!

RE:

My stupid doctor can't see me until tomorrow. It's getting so bad that I can barely open my mouth. I just tried to look in my throat and couldn't even open my jaw enough to see anything. It hurts so bad.

How do I make this stress go away, guys? I don't know what to do.

RE:

Hey guys,

Wanna say sorry for being kinda distant and not myself the past few days...strange for me I know. I get really bad PMS and this month it has hit me hard for some reason. Coupled with the thyroid thing which totally freaks me out. But all will be well in a few days for sure! Just wanted to apologize for my crabbiness.;( Ick. Just that overwhelmed feeling...okay! But you all know how much I care about you! My lack of personals sucks today, again sorry.:-(

But wanted to tell Allison, if your throat is that bad please go to the ER! Seriously, please go Alli. I am not saying its serious, but if your doctor cannot see you today, you should get it checked asap.

When I feel a panic attack coming on I reach for a Zanax quite frankly.;) Well, actually, I practice deep breathing exercises. Here is what I do. Sit in a cross legged position on the floor, hands to your sides, now say a little prayer--to whoever you feel you want to. Now start taking really deep breaths in through your nose out through your mouth. Picture something really peaceful in your head like a running stream in the woods, smell the smells, feel the water...in other words the breathing helps ground you, the visualization helps take you out of your stressed state and into another place.

Boy, I need to take my own advice today. I say we all tell our favorite joke today, whatta ya say? Or just something silly like that. I loved the sex on the table idea BYW Leanne, hilarious! Go for it.

I will be back, gotta go mail out goodies to the girls. I love giving you guys stuff are you kidding me? It makes me happy.:7

RE:

Allie -- Take Tneah's advice and go to the ER if your Dr. can't fit you in until tomorrow! Seriously, this sounds bad -- and you need to get it checked out! OK? :) Now for that stress, Tneah's idea sounds great. Am I remembering correctly from something that you posted ages ago on the forum that you don't like yoga? It might be worth it to find a style that you like. What kinds have you tried?I get lazy about doing it, but feel so much better afterwards. I also bought this CD about two years ago, and it really helps me unwind:

http://www.amazon.com/Relaxation-Bo...bs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1213820199&sr=8-2

I think that the woman also has a sleep one out. I put this CD on sometimes when I'm falling asleep -- and I'm usually out before it's finished! Do you have any favorite movies or books that you like? Oh -- the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich are HYSTERICAL! I started reading them when someone mentioned how great they are, and you can't help but read them and laugh. Here's a link on Amazon, where they're probably cheaper than your local bookstore, but id you need a laugh tonight, then pick them up ASAP! :)

http://www.amazon.com/Plum-Boxed-Se...bs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1213820342&sr=8-4

Hope this helps a bit!

Tneah -- You poor thing, you! Sorry that your PMS has been so very, very awful! And you have not been crabby at all, chica! I don't think you know how to be crabby. I could just tell that you seem blue. :-( I love your relaxation idea -- and your joke idea! I suck at jokes, though, so perhaps we could tell a funny story or something . . . . Hmm . . . I think I suck at those, too! :) And thank you so much again for all the fabulous goodies you've been sending us! You are SUCH a sweetheart and dear friend, and I hate to see you feeling so down!

RE:

OMG, Leanne! I've read ALL the Stephanie Plum boods and today I stopped at the grocery store on my lunch break and there was her newest one staring me in the face! I bought it right away! I can't believe you love those books too. I'm so excited to start it tonight!

RE:

Hello everyone. Sorry I'm late. I must confess I've spent a lot of my time fiddling with blog templates again. If you want, you can see the rough drafts at these places:
http://lainiefigtest.blogspot.com/
http://fitnessfigtemplate.blogspot.com/
http://lainiefigplay.blogspot.com/

I am super-sore from yesterday's kettlebell workout--I hurt everywhere. I tried to do some step today (4DS LIS) but just couldn't so I took a walk through the village instead. I managed to stop in a couple shops while I was at it, so it was one of those shopping workouts. :) Tonight we have a T-ball game so I thought I'd better hop and now and post while I can.

OK, want to do personals but my kids just will not leave me alone long enough. I'll have to try to bbl.

RE:

Tneah, I haven't noticed anything except your usually smart, funny, thoughtful self. Don't feel you have to apologize.

Allie, if your throat is that bad, you should go to the Er.

I LOVE Stephanie Plum!

I did Step Blast this afternoon. I love that workout. Now I'm cooking a dinner of comfort food - ham loaf, mac and cheese and green beans. Anyone want to join us?

RE:

Allie -- How cool that the new Plum book was there waiting for you! I just ordered #13 since I was waiting for it to come out in paperback, and probably will end up getting #14, too. I just hate to spend money on hardbacks like that that I end up reading so quickly. How are you feeling, sweetie? Are you going to try to head into the ER tonight? At the very least, go home, have something yummy to eat, maybe take a hot bath, and kick back with your new book. Keep us posted on how you're doing, OK?

Robin -- Me, me! Can I come over for din-din tonight?! :) Oh, aren't the Stephanie Plum books FUN?!

Shelly -- Sending you more {{{HUGS}}}, babe! Someone on the Open Forum just posted something for you about that fab lipgloss.

Lainie -- The new blog templates are adorable! This one (http://lainiefigtest.blogspot.com/) is my favorite, though, since I love all the figs. Ah, you have The Kettlebell DOMS! Isn't it a great feeling?! }( Oh, I LOOOOOVE a good shopping workout! One of the teachers at Mike's high school told me yesterday that she's teaching summer school this year b/c it keeps her out of the malls! :) Are you able to eat a bit more today? Hope so!

So, DH finished up his grades/comments and posted them on-line at about 11:00 this morning, so that's when he officially started summer break. At 1:00, he put down the Harry Potter book he's been re-reading, and told me that he's already bored. What?! Silly man! ;-)

Love to all you melty ladies! :)

RE:

No er's for me. No thanks. I had a horrible experience there once and I just can't go back. Not unless I'm in really, really ill or injured.

I'm going to see my Doctor tomorrow morning. I've taken my valerian root and i'm headed to bed. Yep, and it's 7pm. How sad is that. I just feel awful.

I promise I'll be better tomorrow. Thank you all for all of your support and kind words. I swear, I couldn't have gotten through the day without you. I'm so lucky to have you all.

Shelley--I'm thinking of you, sweetheart.

Allison

RE:

*screams* "I do! I do!" Well, except for the ham part.;) I do not eat pig.:p Mac and cheese is food from the gods it is....and green beans?:9 Plus, Robin is cooking....yummy! I just powered through some garlic hummus with green beans...my dentist will be thrilled tomorrow, that garlic can stay with ya!

Okay its like 115 degrees here today. So hot, so hot. I mentioned my moody blues cause Shelley and Leanne noticed it, and I wanted to make sure I wasn't vomiting my blue mood on the group...this PMS hormonal crap is outta control this month. Those stupid hormone thingys I was on might have played a role in this. I think the hummus might have helped.

Wait, did I see Allison posting? Allison I am going to have to be very stern here with you young lady...why are you not waiting somewhere to see a doctor? Do you have those walk-in places in Conn.? For the life of me I cannot remember how to spell that dang state, its a wonder I am a writer....

Kristi, what on earth is barefoot skiing? On snow?? No, that couldn't be right! Thank goodness your darling daughter wasn't seriously injured! Sounds like you and hubby had a fabulous celebration evening. Yum, chips...yum, wine....yum...go get massages for sure.

Lainie, if you are that sore that walk was probably just right for you. Cannot wait to see your new blogs, you are so talented.Oh, and I ran out of lip plumper and the idebenol, but sent you strivectin anti-oxidant which is the exact same formula...we just package under a different name and "company".

Shelley, how are you doing? ((more hugs)) cause I just can't hug you enough!

Leanne, have you heard of the author named Jean Rhyss? I could be spelling that very wrong. But our copywriter friend said she is an English author that is actually better than Hemingway, and I was sure you would know who she is. I ordered a book from amazon...Oh dear I feel so sophisticated.:7

Kara, how's it going today, I need to go back and see what you are up to, but will lose my post, oh and I will give you an idea on how to use the products. First, in the am use the hylexin eye cream and the serum, follow that with the lotion...I like the idebenol in the morning or actually you could use the strivectin cause it has the new SPF. At night, use the eye cream and the idebenol or your regular moisturizer. Once you have used the serum for a week or two, you can cut back to using it twice a week....it builds up and keeps on working so you don't have to use as often, if that makes sense?

Well I get to take a valium tonight to help me relax before surgery tomorrow morning...whoo-eee...good times.:7 Wish me luck, I know its not going to be a biggie at all. Plus I have to eat soft foods like Lainie bug, so I get ice cream too!

Talk to you all later gators...

RE:

Sweet dreams, Allison! I hope tomorrow is a much better day!

I'm going to have to check out these Plum books you all are raving about. I need something good to read!

Robin, when should I be there for dinner? Sounds yummy!

Shelly, sending you lots of warm thoughts!

Lainie, I'll check out all those templates and give you my vote.

Leanne, sounds like your DH needs some summer activities -- camps, lessons, afternoons at the library, volunteer activities, exercise --that's how I keep my girls from getting bored! :D :D

RE:

Tneah -- we were posting at the same time. Good luck tomorrow! What time is your surgery? Sending you warm thoughts, prayer, and {{{HUGS}}}!!

Yes, snow -- they climbed up to it then slid down. She couldn't stop where the snow ended and that's where she tumbled. My children do not come from the most coordinated or graceful gene pool. :)

Thank you again for the goodies and for the tips on how to use them! I started today!

RE:

Lainie...love the first one for sure, very artsy fartsy..was that the look you were going for?:p Love it! But they all are great!

Thanks Kristi for your warm thoughts!

Well, okay, I ordered a really weird workout in the spirit of circuits which I do not like but think I need to do for some reason...I got Jillians 30-day shred...its 20 minutes for each level, there are 3. The 3rd is the hardest...I am starting with the easiest one and seeing how I feel. BTW, the front of my hip that was operated on is really hurting, like the IT band or hip flexor.
Imagine doing runners pose, you know the leg behind you that is stretched? Well, when I stretch like that on my operated side and then come out of it, I get this sharp, shooting pain in the front of the hip flexor area. Anyone else ever have this lovely feeling? So....I think it might be those versasliders, I think I have just put too much pressure on that area and have stressed it or something. Who knows, but I need to do something weight related, cannot workout for the next few days after the surgery.

Off I go....
