The girl I run with is a little twing...really long and lean and all she does is run.
I was talking to her today on the phone and she asked if I had worked out lately. Then she asked if she could come over and workout with me this week b/c she needs to do something other then running.
I don't know if I can do it without laughing.I am going to bust a gut watching her lift a weight. We always care on about everything and we laugh when we run together so I think we will be laughing while lifting.
I was thinking about getting her to do PUB or maybe a full body workout. If we do do PUB what weight should I start her on? Say 5,8&10 or 8,10&12?

Perhaps you need to stand on the street corner and hand out flyers.........no hang on........I take that back............you may be arrested for solicating for more than Cathe
How fantastic if you have found a Cathe work out buddy besides a running
buddy. Gee Id start low if she has never ever lifted before, but I wouldnt let her teeny weeny bod full you. she could be quiet strong. and because she runs then her endurance is certainly there.
Have to disagree a little here. Runners have fabulously strong lower bodies, but the upper half is neglected.
I probably wouldn't start her with PLB, but maybe CTX upper or Push/Pull or Supersets. You can't assume she knows anything about correct form, and PUB is so fast paced, it would not give her time to learn much about correct form either. If she were overloaded from PUB as her first workout, she won't know it until the serious doms hits her a day later and it could scare her off a little!
I reckon 8 pounds for bicep curls is enough to begin with, 5 pounds for triceps, 10 pound dumbells for chest presses and flies, if not 8's, etc. Keep it low, and she's got plenty of room to like what she's doing, come back for more and grow, without being crippled after her first workout!!!!
CTX is hard but I guess if you use a lower weight she should be o.k. I find the other 2 you mentioned to be very fast paced.
The only problem is, I like working out on my own time. Its fine to have a running partner and there were days when I didn't want to run but I went with her anyways.I am hoping ,if she likes it ,she will buy her own equipment and workout videos.

Now I know why I bought those 3 lbs weights that I have never used!
