It's getting SO hard!! 39 weeks!!

IT's hot, I feel huge and it's so hard to get motivated to do anything! I have developed so many things wrong in the last week. I got an infection, I gained a lot of weight in the last couple weeks, my feet and hands are swollen, I can't sleep at night and I could go on an on with my woe list. Thanks for listening. I'm approaching my 39th week. Only 1 or 2 weeks to go. I'm getting kinda scared of the unknown of what is going to happen in labor. I have been keeping up with my workouts but just today, after my workout, my hip was hurting! Oh well, another thing to add to my list:0 It won't be long but time sure is a burden!

if I were there

Mandy Lee, if I were there I would pat your hand and rub your back and tell you all sorts of encouraging things. . . You have been SUCH a trouper for the last 39 weeks and you have done a GREAT JOB!! You deserve every pat on the back you might get from this thread and I hope you get a lot, because most of us understand exactly how you feel. No matter how many times you've experienced it, it seems absolutely certain that those last two weeks are NEVER going to end!! But let's pray that they pass quickly. . . Do you usually run a little early or late?? I had two out of three just a little early (just a few days, just enough to save my sanity!!).

Not too much longer, Mandy!

I was just thinking about you today and wondering how much longer you had. All I can do is add my good wishes to the rest. It won't be long before you'll be holding your littlest boy. Try to stay cool and keep us posted! Whenever you feel the slightest bit discouraged, think of all the fun new workouts you have to look forward to after your baby is born!

Take care, Mandy!

Hi Mandy Lee!

I remember going through a week feeling like this. I think every pregnant woman experiences this frustration/depression/anxiety combination as the time gets closer. I think its great that you visit us here and share your feelings with others in the same boat and/or others who have been there and can share their thoughts with you. Thats what this forum is all about.

Well, the only advice I can offer is what worked for me.....try to keep your mind occupied with other things. I made calls to friends and kept the conversations focused on them. I Christmas shopped, baked cookies etc.

Hope this helps. Looking forward to the big news.

I feel your pain!

I've had 5 pregnancies, each with worse insomnia than the last. With the last, for the final 6 weeks I couldn't fall asleep until 1 or 2 in the morning, then up at 6 or 7 with the other kids. I was a walking zombie!!! That's one of the reasons we aren't having any more, I just felt like I would ruin my health if I kept it up. Just a short time more, hopefully you'll go early. I never did, not once! We'll all be thinking about you and keeping you in our prayers. Just imagine that sweet bundle of love you'll have in the next week or two. Best wishes, Leslie

Thinking of you

Gosh! I'm not sure what I can say since I've yet to show. I can't relate yet but my thoughts are with you Mandy-Lee. Happy thoughts to you and the baby. God's speed.

Hang in there!

Boy, can I ever relate! Those last few weeks are TOUGH! You can do this. I KNOW you can! Just remember that whatever you do, you're an inspiration to all of us here! When I thought I was pregnant a few months ago, YOU were my role model for how I wanted to handle the pregnancy in terms of staying fit and exercising.

BTW, my midwife's theory is that the more whiny and frustrated you feel, the closer you are to delivering!

You'll be holding your sweet boy before you know it! BIG CYBER HUGS!!!!!!!!

Wish I was where you are

Definitely take Cathe's advice and have conversations with people. That helps me keep my mind of my first trimester sickness. A friend of mine once mentioned that pregnancy is the biggest joke. You would think there would be an easier way to do it, but there isn't. And it truly is a miracle!

Oh Mandy

I feel for you! But think of all the good things that happened during this pregnancy, you stayed fit and healthy; and besides all that you are such an inspiration. Take a day off if you want and indulge yourself in a nap (if you can). I know I'll be here soon enough (ok maybe not soon enough for me) talking about my late pregnancy woes. :)

I'm right there with you, Mandy!

I know how hard it is right now -- it just feels like you've been pregnant forever at this point! That and you're so anxious and excited to meet the newest member of your family. I'll keep a good thought for you if you'll do the same for me. :) Take care.

what else can I say?!

Just wanted to let you know there is another person wishing you well and feeling your pain! I have about 5 weeks left. Just found out that my 6th child has decided to exert his independence early on and is in a transverse position. Boy does that explain why I have been EXTREMELY uncomfortable! Have not been able to exercise much at all. Cardio brings on contractions-- heck walking across the house and chasing kids does that!My Dr says take it easy for the next couple of weeks. He even laughs while he tells me this because he knows I have a house full of children. So, I am down to 2 days of light strength training. Boo Hoo! But will be sooo ready for that new 8 pk of tapes when this stinker FINALLY gets here and I am able to get back to my Cathe tapes.I am soo motivated to kick back in gear and soon my body will be back up to the challenge! It seems as if time is crawling by,but I know we will look back and wonder where it all went so quickly. Best of luck to you. I too am a little apprehensive about the latest childbirth experience. I don't think it matters how many times you go through it there is always that moment when you wonder how it will go. I am having to look at the possibility of a c-section if this little guys doesn't turn! Not an exciting prospect. Take care and I look forward to "hearing" how things go!
