It's election day!

My life could get drastically better or drastically worse over the course of the next 12 hours. Jeez this job is a pain. Every 2 years my bosses change, & I'm always sitting on pins & needles for like 3 months before the voters make their decision.

Keep your fingers crossed for me! (that it gets better, that is ;))

Oh it's bad. It's very very bad. :( I haven't ranted much about my job lately--I'm trying to stay positive, plus I think my rants were getting rather stale--but until last night I didn't think things could get any worse.

Things are about to get much much worse.

P.S. Sorry, in the midst of my trauma I forgot to thank you guys for your well wishes & support.

Oh, maybe not. Sometimes when things look pretty bleak, life ends up surprising you, and it all turns out well. Hang in there!

Well, to get all Pollyanna on your ass, out of the worst situations come the greatest opportunities to rise above the occasion and make your dreams happen. If everything was perfect all the time, we'd never make any positive changes in our lives, would we? You'll be more than fine- you will take this challenge and go further in your career than you ever thought possible- I know it, Cookie Monster Slayer!

I agree with the previous posters. Hang in there. Sometimes what looks really bad turns into something really great or at least better than you first expected. You'll do great.

Oh no, I doomed. DOOMED I tell you! I'm hanging in there b/c I have no choice, I have a mortgage to pay. The job market for muni govmt is in the tank (as I guess it is w/every other industry--my problem is there's only one of me in every town, so unless someone dies or retires there's just nothing out there). I'm working hard to GTH out--I'm even willing to relocate--but it won't happen overnight. In the meantime, I have to try to stay sane & keep my xanax scrip filled. :(

Sorry, I really hate to be so negative. I've just never been in such a terrible work situation and, you know, I have no family. My career is my life & not only is it not moving forward, it's actually moving backward.

I have one app out that I have very high hopes for. Actually I feel like it's too good to be true & therefore there's no way in hell I'll get it. :p Keep your fingers crossed for me!

How goes it the day after?

This place is like a funeral home. It's really quiet & sad. Everyone is nervous--we have no idea what the future holds, who'll be employed, who'll get pay cuts........all that fun stuff.

ETA: as you can tell, I'm not exactly feeling very motivated or productive today. ;)
