It’s Official! TWO 2008 Cathe Road Trips

Yippee! I didn't get in last year (I booked my spot at 12:05!), but am excited for RT 2008.

My 2005 Road Trip baby just turned two; hard to believe it's been almost 3 years since I enjoyed that amazing weekend with Cathe, crew, and so many great ladies (and the one great guy *wink*).

Thanks, Cathe and coordinators. This will be so fun!

So great that they are able to do 2!!! I will try for the July one, and if I don't get in, I'll shoot for Aug.!!!! What exciting news!!!

I want to check on a train route for the trip if I get to go. Can anyone tell me the name of the station that is closest to where the hotel is?? I'll be traveling from Indiana. I want to check the costs, route, dates etc. Thanks in advance for any help!!

RE: Cathe Road Trip Joy!!!!

HEATHER B.

THIS WILL BE MY FIRST ROADTRIP ASSUMING I GET THE PLANS WORKED OUT & I MAKE IT AS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES TO GET REGISTERED. HOW MANY ROAD TRIPS HAVE YOU BEEN TO? I WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU IF WE BOTH MAKE IT THIS YEAR. YOUR BIBLE VERSE AT THE END OF YOUR MESSAGE CAUGHT MY EYE. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE SOMEONE WHO SHARES THE SAME INTEREST THERE.

TAMI S.

I believe the nearest train station is Philadelphia. You can then take a shuttle or rent a car from there.

Tami:

I would love to meet you too if God blesses us with the opportunity to attend the same Road Trip. :) Be sure to sign up as soon as the link is available!

Last year was my first Road Trip. It was an amazing experience that touched me in my feelings. I have always battled deep insecurities about my weight and size, and I was so amazed by the unconditional love and acceptance in that place. I did not sleep well for a month prior to the Road Trip for reasons too personal to share publically, and I was wiped out by the end of the first class. I am hoping God blesses me with a do-over this year. I was very tired and emotional last year and believe the second time would be a whole new experience for me. I was also nervous and anxious about my weight and size last year. I stepped out in faith and faced my fears and insecurities. I am the same size this year (and a bit heavier), but I am more comfortable in my skin. I have made peace with my body and would not give my weight a second thought. I no longer define myself by my weight (after a lifetime of eating disorders), and that healing process started in Jersey last summer during the 2007 Road Trip. I am still overweight, but I am not what I weigh. Fitness is about freedom, not a size! I am all about eating for the glory of God, exercising as an act of worship, and living a clean and healthy lifestyle. :)

If you are interested in reading a wordy and gushy post about my first Cathe Road Trip experience (and I warn you that I was still “high” when I wrote it :7), here is a link:

Please excuse all the typos. It was way too long to proofread. ;-)

30th Street Station in Philadelphia is the main train station, if that helps. It's about 30 minutes from the hotel.

Heather's post

I highly recommend anyone considering going on this year's road trip to read Heather's experiences. I was completely moved and touched by every word written in Heather's post. :)

I can't believe I can actually make the July one this year!!!!! Why can't it be next Friday NOW so I'll know if I got in or not????

>Wow! I'm so excited about this -- and am hoping I can talk
>my DH into letting me go!:)

Same here I have mentioned it to him and all he saw was how much money it will cost us and then he said "do what you want but I have to still go to work so who'll watch the kids that weekend?"

Eh I wish I had somebody to supervise them but I soooo wanna go its not even funny but in all honesty I doubt I'll be able to attend this year since we already have a family reunion to fly up to and tickets for a family of 5 bah!

I pray Cathe thinks about doing one in '09 so I can start putting my money away now for it :sniff - sniff:
