It’s Official! TWO 2008 Cathe Road Trips

Hi Everyone! Great News….. We are pleased to announce TWO Cathe Road Trips scheduled this summer!

The July Cathe Road Trip will be held from Friday July 25th through Sunday, July 27th.

The August Cathe Road Trip will be held from Friday August 8th through Sunday August 10th.

Schedules and itineraries will be identical for both Road Trips.

We have a lot of creative and exciting ideas in the works for the 2008 Cathe Road Trip weekends and I’ll post more details in the weeks to follow. For now, let me tell you that we have listened carefully to your great feedback from the 2007 Road Trip, and this year’s Road Trips promise to be even bigger, better and more fun-filled!

Here’s a peek at what we have planned:

HOTELS:
Yippee!!! Once again we’ve been able to get preferred rates at our first-choice hotels, the Fairfield Inn Deptford and the all-suites Residence Inn Deptford, just a few miles and 12 minutes down the road from our gym. These “sister” hotels are clean, nicely furnished, very comfortable and right next door to each other. The friendly staff is really looking forward to hosting our group again. Details on how to call and book your room with our special rates will follow soon.

TRANSPORTATION DURING THE WEEKEND:
Come to New Jersey via plane, train, or car, make your way to your hotel, check in and drop your stuff, then relax and leave all the weekend navigating and driving to somebody else! Once again for this year’s Road Trips, round-trip bus transportation to and from the Fairfield Inn/Residence Inn for ALL Road Trip events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be included in your registration fee.

There are lots of available shuttle, limo, taxi and van services that you can use for your transport between the Philadelphia Airport or local Amtrak stations and the hotels. From the Airport we recommend Rapid Rover. More details for you will follow soon on Rapid Rover and other ground transportation options and pricing.

MEALS:
We’ll have a nice spread of things to eat over the course of the weekend ……and you can bet we are going to feed you well!!! All scheduled meals will be included in your registration fee.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS (THE SAME FOR EACH WEEKEND):
• Everybody hit the ground in New Jersey ready to laugh and play! Plan to arrive in time to catch the bus from the hotels to your 2008 Road Trip Meet & Greet Party at our gym from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday! I’ll be your hostess for this great get-acquainted event. While you mingle with your fellow Road Trippers, you’ll be able to munch on plenty of good food. The evening will be filled with lots of other get-acquainted team games, activities, prizes and surprises. By the way, don’t forget to bring your Pajama’s!!! Yes, you heard right! We’ll cap off our evening by changing into our jammies for a little Pajama Night Cap super-relaxing stretch class. Then you’ll serenely step on the bus all dressed and ready for bed as soon as you reach your hotel. Ahhhhhh!!! But don’t forget to brush your teeth..LOL!

• I’ll teach at least 4 classes on Saturday and Sunday –- Step Aerobics, Kickbox, Boot Camp, and Lower Body Blast. Get ready to sweat!

• Light, nutritious snacks and beverages will be available for you at the gym all day Saturday.

• Cathe gear, fitness products, and DVDs will be available for purchase throughout the weekend.

• For lunch on Saturday, we will walk to Samurai Japanese Hibachi restaurant (right in our shopping center) for a delicious Japanese lunch (don’t worry, we won’t be sitting on the floor!) You’ll have time to mingle with everyone and take pictures before we head back to the Club for our afternoon class! 

• After the last Saturday afternoon class, you’ll ride the bus back to your hotels to shower (don’t fall asleep, wink) and get ready for Saturday night’s Fitness Feast & Festivities, to be held at our Club! Once again I’ll be your hostess and we’ll provide bus transportation. It’s our chance to relax together, eat some great food, laugh, chat, play and unwind after our LOOOONG workout day!!!!!! Highlights for our Saturday evening: We’ll feast on a yummy catered dinner. We’ll have our traditional Fitness Team Relay Race with a few new twists this year to make it even more fun, fast-moving and inclusive. For the first time ever we’ll hold our very own “American Fitness Idol” auditions. We’ll even have a DJ Dance Party and teach each other a few new dance moves . Don’t forget your cameras! (Side Note: We may end up switching one of these events to Friday to give us more time for our in-house DJ Dance Party on Saturday!)

•And finally, after our Sunday “Early Bird” class the bus will take us all to Five Points Diner, where I’ll host our Farewell Brunch. We’ll all be ready for those pancakes, and maybe even some whipped cream on top, LOL! There will be time for lots of hugs and pictures, too, before (sniff sniff) we have to say good-bye til next time! By the way, breakfast ends around 11:15 am, should you need this info to look into available flights or trains.

VERY IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION
We have taken your suggestions from the 2007 Road Trip into consideration in setting up this year’s registration this year, and we have tried very hard to make it as fair and as clearly understandable as possible. Please read these notes carefully before you register. If you have questions about registration, POST THEM ON THE ROAD TRIP FORUM BEFORE REGISTRATION OPENS!

1. So that we can offer attendance fairly and to as many people as possible, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO REGISTER ONLY FOR ONE PERSON AND ONLY FOR ONE ROAD TRIP.

2. We have room for 105 to attend each Road Trip. The 105 spots for each Road Trip will be filled on a first-come first-served basis, and we will also fill a Wait List of 105 for each Road Trip.

3. Registration for the July Road Trip will begin on Friday, April 25 at 12 pm (noon) EST on our website at http://www.cathe.com/roadtrip/2008.htm (this link will not work until the sign up begins.) Registration is not available by phone or mail. We will leave this registration open until we have sold out the 105 spots and filled the Wait List.

4. Registration for the August Road Trip will begin on Friday, May 2 at 12 pm (noon) EST on our website at http://www.cathe.com/roadtrip/2008.htm (this link will not work until the sign up begins.) Registration is not available by phone or mail. We will leave this registration open until we have sold out the 105 spots and filled the Wait List. If you have gotten a spot on the July Road Trip you won’t be able to register for the August Road Trip. If you are Wait Listed for July, however, you may register for August.

5. The Registration Fee for this year’s Road Trip will be $249.00 per person. You will need a credit card to register. If you are one of the 105 people who secure a spot on a Road Trip, a $100 non-refundable down payment will be charged to your credit card immediately after you register. The balance ($149) will be automatically charged to your account one month before your Road Trip (in other words, on June 25th for the July Road Trip and on July 8th for the August Road Trip).

6. You will receive an automated e-mail confirmation from Cathe dot com after you register. Please read the e-mail carefully. It will tell you whether you secured one of the 105 attendance spots and, if so, that your credit card has been charged for your down payment. It will also tell you if you have been placed on the Wait List. If you are wait-listed, your credit card will not be charged at the time of registration.

7. Wait Listers, we will notify you if a spot becomes available. If you accept the spot, we will charge the $100 non-refundable down payment to your credit card at that time and also will notify you when the balance will be charged to your credit card. For your planning purposes, I should mention that historically we have had fewer than 10 spots open up for Wait Listers, and most of those open spots occur late, within 1 to 3 weeks before the Road Trip.

I’m already so excited. I can’t wait to meet new friends and say hello to old friends! See you this summer!!!

Do real men wear jammies???? Guess we'll have to wait until August to find out....:)

Really going to try and make August 8-10th RT!!

Sounds like a blast!

Are we required to attend all of the classes? i.e. If we are so sore and exhausted from Saturday's classes, are we required to attend Sunday's Early Bird class? Also, although I'm totally into Kickbox and Bootcamp, I can't do step because of my knees. Is that required as well? It would be fun as my birthday is that July weekend (great gift), but I just want to clarify first. Thanks!

You are not required to participate in all the classes - just do what you are comfortable with. :)

I will probably have to work the Friday of the Road Trip, and drive to Cathe's gym from there, will that be a problem if I arrive past the 4 pm start time?? I really don't want to have to take more than one day of work off, if I can avoid it.

Nahhh, Jerry, don't worry about that. Lots of people arrive late on Friday - whether it's due to work conflicts, or flight delays/cancellations. If I remember correctly, there was one road tripper last year who didn't arrive until SATURDAY NIGHT, due to flight cancellations. So, I think being an hour or two late on Friday night is no biggie. ;)

LOL, this made me laugh cuz' I remember Sunday morning waking up and going to get out of the hotel bed and literally not being able to move I was in so much pain. Emily was my roomie and we were both seriously considering just taking pictures at the Sunday morning class and watching from the back. Honestly, it hurt me to BREATH. I think I had one spot to the left of my nose that didn't hurt like heck on my entire body. Somehow though, once we got to the gym all that faded away. Everyone took all of the classes at their own pace. It's all about having fun, not killing yourself. ;) (note to self...)

>...and literally not being able to move I was in so much pain

Ohhhh, but Liann, wasn't it absolutely THE GREATEST pain that you've ever felt??? The work, the friends, the atmosphere -- I bet when you recall that pain, you don't think of it in a bad way at all!

Lorrie - Nope, I don't look back at it as a bad pain at all! It was just DOMS in every muscle of my body and I enjoyed it. ;) It's just funny now looking back at it. I could barely sit on a toilet seat, lol! My problem was that I had been on vacation for the few weeks prior to the RT and had not worked out at all. If I was working out faithfully leading up to it, I probably wouldn't have had any problems. Oh, and I never did kickboxing much before the RT so that really did me in. ;) I loved every minute of that trip though and cannot wait to go back!
