Is this pathetic or what?

I got my tapes yesterday, it was such a wonderful wonderful surprise. I did BBA and watched Power Hour and Rhythymic Step. Today I had an awful stressful day at my software job, while my only daughter is out buying her first car with her Dad, I had to fix an IMac for a friend and I only know PCs, got home got all dressed and planned to do Step-Intervals/Chest. But first to relax a little, I was going to watch the S+H Chest tape. I popped it in and it didn't work. &^%$#!!! I tried the Legs and Shoulders. It didn't work either, nor did the Biceps/Triceps. I thought I'd have to return them all! And I waited so long! Then I tried some other tapes and nothing worked. Horror of all horrors, my 6 yr old VCR had just died. And it was already 7 pm. I panicked for a few minutes, then I resolutely got in my car in my spandex shorts and T shirt, drove 10 miles to the nearest Best Buys, plopped down 80 bucks for a new VCR, strode out of the store, never glancing at anything, drove home, hooked it all up and worked out!!! I am one determined fitness fanatic! Now I can relax and watch that Chest and Back tape! :)

You go girl!

Sounds like you've got your priorities in order! It also sounds like you got an awful lot of new tapes! Enjoy :) !

I'm behind you all the way...I would have done EXACTLY the same thing!!!

Hey, you gotta set your priorities, right????

RE: Desperate times, desperate measures

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. I'd probably have done the same thing, except I probably would've sent my husband out rather than me.

At least VCR's now only cost $80 rather than $250. Does anyone remember life without 'em?

You go girl!

RE: Desperate times, desperate measures

Well, there's only one thing wrong with your plan. I don't have a husband! My daughter Logan is out with her Dad buying a car, but this is only because I guilt-tripped him into it. And of course, I'm paying for the car. He's complaining about the gas money it's costing him driving around to the dealerships! He is a very marginally-involved parent. I have been doing this alone for the past 12 years (Logan is almost 17). But theoretically, that would have been an excellent idea you had. Hmmmm...since Logan will have a car soon, do you think I can talk her into running errands for me? :)

RE: Desperate times, desperate measures

Oh YES you certainly can *talk* her in to it. My mom talked me into doing her errands and I have successfully talked my two daughters into it. (each in their turn) Gas money works wonders.

Also congrats on raising your daughter. I understand. My girls' dad was involved when he felt like it (or rather when his second wife decided he should be)

Oh, and Yes you are a FANATIC.
BTW, once I just thought my VCR was dying (it made funny sounds and the screen would blank from time to time) and I went out and bought a new VCR before mine died, just so I wouldn't find myself in the same boat you found yourself --sort of all dressed up with no place to go. (except Best Buys)

RE: Desperate times, desperate measures

That's funny! I actually thought about buying an extra VCR in case they stop making them. There's no way I'm buying 50 DVDs! And I plan on doing Cathe until my decrepit sub-units won't let me anymore.

RE: Desperate times, desperate measures

I don't remember my mother "talking" me into anything! She told me to do something, and I just did it! That was before kids got into arguing at lot. No, I'm not going to go into a rant about the "good old days!" In the "good old days, we didn't have computers and workout tapes!!!!! As a matter of fact, just very recently, my father was lamenting that he was too strict with my sister and me! Imagine that! Well, he was! My father and I get along really well, now, and I think that's great.

I've done that, too! LOL!

About three years ago my VCR died and I panicked! Went straight to Radio Shack and purchased a new one -- this was all before I was had to be at work at NOON!
