Is STS for all Fitness levels?

Hi,

I am considering buying STS but I don't know if it will be way too advanced for me. I am 49 year old female that weighs 225 lbs. down from 240. I have been slowly losing weight and doing various beginner/int. exercise videos. I really need to build some muscle. I love your STS DVD previews but they are very intimidating. Do you think that someone like me could do or attempt to do STS using modifications or is it only for advanced exercisers?

Thank you for your help,
Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

I just want to congratulate you on what you've accomplished thus far. I can understand why STS would seem intimidating (and I noticed that Cathe answered your questions in the ask Cathe section) but I just wanted to let you know that I think you should go for it. You can always use lighter weights to start and you have all of us cathe fanatics here to support and give advice as needed :)

Good luck with STS- and enjoy!

Yes, congrats on your accomplishments. You can modify as needed. Even if you just start with 5 pound weights, it is a start and you will advance from there. I modify alot of exercises to where I am comfortable doing them and so as not to injure myself. I am 50 and STS is great.

Congratulations from me too!

I agree with Ayle and Beth ~ go for it. Thanks to the concept of the one rep max, STS can be tailored to your current fitness level. As for modifications, I have to modify certain tricep exercises due to a twingy elbow, and I have no problem doing that while still enjoying the STS workouts.
