Is it okay to do cardio coach everyday?

I am on vacation for the week in Folly Beach, SC. Absolutely beautiful place. Love the beach. This morning I went to the beach and did CC2. Would be okay to do a CC everyday while I'm here for exercise? I alternate between walking and jogging when using them.

Personally, since CC is high impact on the intervals, I would want to put a lower impact workout in between. Even if you could use CC on a bike or in the water, which would reduce the impact. It's important not to over-stress the skeletal system, but that's just MHO. You could also use CC with walking lunges for the intensity phases in place of running them, something like that which would give you increased HR while still keeping the impact out. I'm by no means an expert or a personal trainer, but I know we have some PTs here. Hopefully, some of them will give you their insight as well.

Just some ideas.

Jenn, I have also used CC workouts for steady state by ignoring the cues and just maintaining the same intensity. It can be tough at first because your inclination is to follow the cues, but I still get a lot out of the motivational comments, and I LOVE the music. :D

P.S. and if you do CC as SS then you can use it everyday!! :D

I would go mad if I did CC every day, either as usual or as SS. There's only 8 workouts and they get so boring after awhile! Not so much him, but the music. I am definitely someone that has to change up the music and my workouts a lot, so I might be in the minority on this. Miss Lee, I know you adore Sean, and he definitely is awesome at what he does, but if you're going to do steady state, do it to other music! It's too easy to burn out and if you get used to ignoring the cues, if won't do much for your workouts when you do CC as they should be done.

I know what you're saying and I agree! However, my recommendation was based on the OPs desire to use CC every day while on vacation. And since it's generally not advisable to do interval training every day, I recommended doing at least some of the workouts as SS. Unless I misunderstood, I don't believe she intends to follow this protocol beyond her vacation. ;)

I do, on occasion, use CC for SS workouts, but anymore I tend to go with the instrumentals for this (I used the coached versions before the instrumentals were released but my comment to the OP was based on the notion that she probably does not have the instrumentals). When I don't use CC, I use classical music... or Gershwin! I love Gershwin! :D
