Is it just me?

Hello All,
I have been doing the Slow & Heavy workouts, which I LOVE :) I noticed that I have had some serious delayed muscle sorness kick in about the second day after the workout. I run over every day and I use one the Slow and Heavy workouts every other day. I am in good shape and I am not new to exercising or weight training. I was just wondering if anyone is feeling the same way or is it just me?

Me too!

I very rarely get sore, but the chest/back video makes my entire upper body sore for a couple of days after the workout. I have been doing the S& H every other day also and I run or do other cardio every day.
Were you sore from the Legs section? I didn't really feel the work and am wondering if that workout isn't for me or if I should try modifying it.

RE: Me too!

I felt the same exact way - sore 2 days after. I was using heavy weights and I couldn't figure out why I wasn't sore. Well about 2 days later it kicked in, and I knew I had used some good weights....

Erica,
My legs do not get sore either, but I think it's because I run a lot. I did notice that the leg section in Power Hour does fatigue my legs much more than the Slow/Heavy Legs & Shoulders. Have you tried the Power Hour leg section?. Power Hour contains lots of squats and I really like the leg section in Power Hour much better.

RE: Me too!

The S&H leg tape made me sore, and that really surprised me! I could feel it in the upper quads. With all that heavy work I do at the Y, I wasn't expecting that. The workout itself didn't seem hard at all when I was doing it. I DID up my poundage, however, to 55# for squats and lunges, and know I will up it more for squats next time. Maybe that accounts for it. The tricep and bicep workouts didn't get me sore at all. I have to try shoulders yet.

Hi all,

All of the S&H make me sore by the next day, but I'm no Olympic athlete either. Sounds like maybe the better shape you are in, the least likely you are to get sore from the S&H style?!

Power Hour legs

Power Hour legs fatigued my legs more also. I think I really need a hi rep workout for lower body because I can't lift enough weight safely over my head to feel challenged in my legs. But I love S&H for upper body - it's fantastic.

RE: poundage

My experience was also different than I expected.
I didn't get that sore from the SH legs althogh I did between 70-80 pounds. However I did feel like I got a really good leg work. And I feel the muscles work very hard when going slow. I Use about the same weight for PS legs, so maybe that's why it wasn't that bad afterwards. But in the SH I feel like I can get much deeper as there is more time. I like that.

The shoulder workout I didn't feel sore at all, which really surprised me. But I also had to go with lighter weights because it's slow. I would just have expected to be sore as I feel my shoulders are a bit weak area on me.
I liked the work though.

RE: poundage

I wasn't sore after legs and shoulders either, (I just did it yesterday a.m. so maybe it will kick in, but I doubt it.)
My back, in the other hand, was so sore after tri's and bi's, I couldn't believe it! I think it is from the table top position during kickbacks. As for legs, I think I just didn't go heavy enough with the squats. Hopefully heavier weights will do the trick.
