Is it bad to focus more on cardio for a while?

I'm constantly struggling to balance the weights and cardio every week. If I have a good week where I can work out as often as I want (5 times), I feel like I have a good balance (either 3 cardio/2 weights or 2 cardio/2 weights/1 circuit). However, this is one of those weeks where I can only workout 4 times. I feel like I have good muscle tone but that it's hidden under a small layer of fat. I've made some good changes in my diet the last several months, and that has helped a lot. But is it ok to do more cardio than weights sometimes? I know the weights are so important for fat-burning, so I'm always confused about which I should focus more on.

Hi it seems to me your doing just fine doing 2 weights a week. Are you doing 2 total body a week? Lately I have been doing 2 total body a week and around 4 cardio in a week but If I don't do a total body then of course their is around 3 to 4 weights in a week. As long as you are doing each body part 2 times a week I don't see a problem:)
 
Yes, the weight workouts I do are total body ones (right now been enjoying Push Pull and Supersets). But for a week like this one, when I'm going to be down a workout, I wonder if it's ok to cut out one of the weight workouts rather than do a strictly balanced, two cardio/two weights schedule. It's crazy to put this much thought into it for just one week, I know! But my schedule does get hectic sometimes, and right now I feel like I want to focus more on cardio to try to budge some of this body fat; I'm hoping that'll work out ok. Marie I don't see a problem doing 1 body part a week temporary because if you think about it the CTX serie is a rotation and it is just 1 body part a week. How about alternating every week like doing more cardio 1 week then the following week do the 2 total body . I know what you mean because I love cardio more then weights most of the time. Also when you do for instance C&W on your cardio days right their your getting some weights in there. Good luck on finding the time:)
