Is Cardio Kicks a good workout?

I want to get this DVD because I want the Circuit Max workout. I am not real crazy for kickboxing, it just doesn't make me feel really worked and unfortunately the other half of CM is Cardio Kicks.

Do you guys use Cardio Kicks often?

Hi 40 Something,
I just did CK today as a matter of fact. I like it better than KPC (which I didn't care for). I don't have KM, so can't compare. CK is more cardio with a kickboxing flair to it, if that makes sense. I really like Cathe's floor cardio and this one is pretty good. It's not that long of cardio. I never do warm-ups, so it's about a good half hour of cardio and kicking/plyo type drills. The last part is arm drills which I rarely do (not my bag). I like to tack on the hi/low from SPJ after CK. It's a good 40 min. cardio workout. I really like CM and find I do this one more often. But if you don't like kickboxing this one isn't true kickboxing, which may be why I like it more too. Boy, I think I just rambled!

Your post actually helps me, Fab40. It is the arm drills that I don't care for either. That is the major reason I don't like at home kickboxing workouts...the arms drills just seem pointless when you aren't actually punching a bag. I don't care for KPC either.

Thanks for your input. I feel better about buying the DVD now. :D

I love Cardio Kicks, but actually don't care for the bits that are nonkickboxing. The punching I love!! I can tell you from experience that although the punching may not feel like it is doing much, it was Taebo tapes that had me in the best shape of my life prior to having my now 4 year old son. My arms were really cut and I did not do any weight lifting at the time. It was all due to the punches.

Funny you ask that. I did Cardio Kicks last night. OH my! As usual a really tough (but really fun) workout. I use it often for sure. It always lurks in one of my rotations. If you're not crazy for kickboxing you should give this one a try. I enjoy this workout a lot (almost way too much). Those punching drills at the end make me feel so tough and as an added bonus there are guys in the crew working out with Cathe. And cute ones!

Circuit Max is a really tough tape too. Another one of my favorites. That is a great DVD to add to your collection.

i like cardio kicks a LOT! and... it burns a TON of calories! it's not as kickboxy and KPC.... and of course, doesn't have the drills.... i think that may be why i like it so much.. the drills are my least favorite part of KPC!

i pick it a lot cuz i know i'm gonna burn a lot of calories in a "short" amount of time!

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

What I like to do is stick the power drills segment of Cardio Kicks, replete with upper body drills, onto the tail end of Circuit Max after the last standing resistance cycle segment, and then sling a few more squats, plie squats and lunges on at the end of the power drills. In fact, I like throwing the power drills segment onto a lot of different workouts for a different kind of leg and cardio burn. Lub dem sequential power kicks and ice-breakers.

I do that mish-mosh a lot - probably too much, because I burn through athletic shoes like you wouldn't believe. But I still like it. And I like the upper body drills; even though there is no bag to punch, I like the discipline of controlled power in the throwing and stopping of each punch.

I received this Dvd today in the mail so now I'll find out! Thanks for the replies and thanks for the workout suggestion's, A-Jock. :D

to me cardio kicks is #1 compared to kpc and km. ck has alot more cardio, tough intensity drills, and so much more fun.
