Is BodyMax 2 suitable for the uncoordinated?

Hi,
I'm looking for another great workout that I can do without hurting myself. I can handle high intensity - no problem...it's just the tricky choreography that kills me. I've cannot master step routines that have a lot of turns, dance steps etc. (I've tried and tried again) and this just ruins my workout. I've slipped off the step a couple of times in my attempts to master tricky routines and I've decided that it's just not worth it! I was wondering if Body Max 2 has any of that complicated choreography too? I would appreciate any recommendations for a straight forward challenging workout. I already own and love Drill Max and Kick Max and have the FitTv versions of Boot Camp and Kick,Punch,Crunch. These are my favorite workouts!
Thanks!

BodyMax 2 is definitely high-choreography. So, unfortunately, is Low Impact Circuit. If you like Bootcamp and KPC on TV, you could buy the full versions, as there are a few entire segments left out of each of those on the TV version. They also have good premixes on them. You could also try High Step Challenge, which is very similar to Bootcamp, and very challenging, but really fun. I love that one, actually.

Thank you for answering my question about BodyMax 2 and for adding the comment about Low Impact Circuit. I would have been very disappointed if I bought either one of those. I was thinking about buying the full versions of Bootcamp and KPC (they're on my Wishlist) so thanks for the info. about those. Glad to know about High Step Challenge...I'll put that on my list too!
Thanks!

I think the choreography is somewhat tricky in certain sections, but not overly dancey or hard to pick up after a couple times. You can always order these from collagevideo.com and if you don't like it you can return it to them within 30 days. Cathe's step style isn't quite as dancey as many other instructors, and she does give great cuing. With that said, if you really have 2 left feet, perhaps you can stick with some of her other workouts-

*Low Impact Step (For Beginners and Intermediate Exercisers)
*High Step Challenge
*IMAX (the first one)
*Basic Step and Body Fusion
*Low Max (somewhat dancey, but pretty easy to follow after watching at least once and trying at least once)
*Classics VOL1 (older but easy to follow and get use to Cathe's style)

You won't go wrong with KPC and Bootcamp full versions!

Those are just a few. I am not sure as to what the style will be like in the next batch. Also, here are a few suggestions of other instructors who are fun, but not so overly choreographed routines:

*CIA2705 Absolute Kickboxing with Kimberley Spreen
*CIA2701 All Out Infused Step with Gay Gasper
*CIA2605 Cardio Camp with Kimberley Spreen
*CIA2601 Cardio Step Express with Gay Gasper
*CIA2604 Double Cardio (one section is used with a BOSU, but you have the option to use the step)
*CIA2505 KickBox Bootcamp with Kimberley Spreen

Hope this helps!

You might try Cathe's High Step Training Advanced. It's a bit harder than High Step Challenge in terms of intensity, per the Cathe compendium. Very straightforward cardio and great circuit weight workout! Good premixes too.

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

I am not a big fan of complicated step choregraphy (I stay away from dancy, complex step workouts like the the plague) but Body Max 2 is one of my favorite workouts. If you do the warmup, skip the step segment and do the step circuit + weights you get a good bit of high intensity step cardio ( 16 1/2 high intensity- 25 minutes including the warmup) and work every muscle.

I did Imax first, then tried Imax 2 and then Body Max 2. They all follow the same concept- two minutes of one quick step combo repeated six times followed by a 2 to 2 1/2 minute blast that is usually just one or two high intensity moves like a power lunge or jack, then on to the next step pattern.

Imax has the most basic steps and is to similar Gin Miller's Intense moves but more intense. Just like Intense moves, it gets repetitive after a while and that is when it is time to move to Imax 2 and body max 2 as they are more fun. The the blasts tend to have a couple of moves that alternate or you may travel a bit with the blasts, but the blasts are still pretty basic.

My suggestion is join a group like www.videofitness.com and trade for some of these workouts. If you do not like it, you can trade for something you do. That way, no purchase is wasted.

No...really...I CAN'T do Imax and I barely manage to stumble my way through LoMax. I had to delete Step Blast and Imax because I was dangerous to myself. I'd forget how much trouble I had and then I'd try them again and trip all over the place. I'm really trying to avoid both frustration and injury. I even had a little bit of trouble with Kick Max when Cathe started doing a knee block then a kick while turning in a circle. I finally got it but it took some rewinding. It doesn't look like Body Max 2 is for me. Thank you all for the other recommendations. The High Step dvds sound like they'd be a good fit for me.:)

just wanted to say i was one of those uncoordinated people and i got imax2 anyway. it took at least 5 times for me to get through with no mistakes and it was very frustrating but once it get it its the best workout. i think an uncoordinated person can do it with a little practice(i'm proof of that). now i'm working on imax3
