IRS TAX FORMS

Anyone know how to download the 1040? I cannot seem to get to them from the IRS.gov site?? It's really confusing!

If that link doesn't work: Go to irs.gov; in the drop-down box under "within", select Forms and Publications; Then type Form 1040 in the top box under "Search for". Run your search, and in the grey box that comes up, the very top link is for the Form 1040.

I used to be a tax preparer, so I have some experience on the irs.gov website. ;-)

I envy your "used to be", LOL. I still am! x(

Hey one of you tax preparer types! I know this is a bit like asking a nurse to look at your growth but can one of you please tell me if I will have to file state income taxes for two states if I moved from New Mexico to Virginia in August of 2004? I would greatly appreciate any help you may give. Thanks!!! :)

Hi Lunacat!

I am definately NOT a CPA :) but we moved from AZ to IL in Feb of 2001 and we had to file both state taxes, yes it was a pain. I wouldn't ask me anything else because numbers give me a headache and I just finished ours with Turbotax and yes I have a headache!

PS I am a nurse what kind of growth do ya have? :+

Rebecca11,

The only growth I have is my SO. I think I should have it removed! :p

Thanks for the info. That's what I was afraid of. I guess H&R Block get a few more bucks to do that then! I'm terrified of doing my own taxes so I always pay others to do the dirty work.

AZ to IL, eh? I guess us Rebeccas tend to migrate East!

Yes, providing both states have income tax. Some, like Florida and Texas, I believe, have not state income tax.

I'm also a tax preparer. Don't you just love the IRS website? I remember the days of having to order forms by mail, then by fax, and now, Voila! instant tax returns and instructions.
