Inverted shoulder press in Push Pull

Hey Hey!!! Happy Happy Friday to all!!!!

I've been doing Push/Pull this week. I'm doing lighter/easier weight workouts up until I restart STS in Aug. I forgot all about this little gem I've been using the wts Cathe uses to keep it a little easier and am enjoying it. Its been a very long time since I've done this one, and I forgot about the inverted shoulder press. I've often wondered why its on this particular DVD, bc the rest of it is easy enough, but not that move.

I can't do it??? I couldn't do back when I was doing this DVD on a more regular basis, and I don't know why. I can do a pike on a ball, I can do pushups, I can hold the inverted position, but my arms won't bend! Core tight, arms and legs straight but not locked, and then.....nothing! Can't do it. I think it may be a mental block. I'm afraid of dropping myself and cracking my skull open or breaking my neck. I like to stay in one piece:p Is there a trick or a secret to this? I've been using the overhead press sub, but I don't want to do that, I want to do the inverted press.

You might try bringing one foot down off the high step, so that one foot is on the ground and the other is still piked up on the high step. This will make is easier safer for you to try and determine whether this is a mental block or a strength one. And, or lower your step height. I just did the upper body premix from PP this morning and I banged out 4 more than Cathe and crew, but when I first started Cathe years ago I couldn't do a single one. So I'm sure you'll be able to do them eventually!
