Cathlete
Hello,
I just joined and thought I would introduce, myself.
I am from Georgia and have been lurking on the boards for a couple of years. I love how knowledgable and supportive everyone here is.
For exercise: I like running, cathe, p90x, and yoga.
For eating: I like all good food and have an ongoing goal to increase my fruit and veggie intake.
I had knee surgery a month ago, and am just getting to the point where I know that I am not capable of ramping up to full workouts, but a few squats couldn't hurt right?
I like reading, movies, sewing, crochet, working out, cooking, and parties with close friends, and learning anything new.
I would love to go on a road trip this summer, but do not have the money.
I have pre-ordered STS and am driving myself crazy trying to calculate when it will ship (best guess, start shipping end of May) and if I will be back in shape enough to be ready for it.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone,
dragonf1y

Welcome dragonf1y!!! I like running and P90X too! I am also patiently waiting for STS....maybe not so patient...x( :+ :7

Welcome to you! Don't worry about the knee, you will bounce back better than ever! There are alot of people who have gone through knee issues on this forum so you are in good company. I had hip replacement surgery last summer and am back stronger than ever, doing all the Cathe workouts without pain. You will get alot of support around here, this is a great little community.

Welcome to the forums!! I'm from Georgia too and started running in October. I'm planning to do lots of races this year in and around Georgia.

Welcome aboard dragonfly.

I love dragonflies, Some day will have a tattoo of one. They are beautiful! We have them around our lake during Spring and mostly Summer. Some are small and others are big, but they all come in colors of the rainbow.

What crochet project are you on? I also like sewing and cooking healthy clean meals.

Looking forward to your posts.

Why did you have knee surgery? It won't be long and you'll be back doing your exercises. It just takes a little time.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Glad you came out of lurkdom! Welcome to the forums. I look forward to hearing more from you.

Good luck with your knee rehab. Hope all goes well.

JJ

Thanks for the welcome, I love dragonflies too.
I am currently crocheting a baby blanket for a friend. Since most people my age are having babies, I stay pretty busy and have not done anything more complicated.
I had knee surgery (orthoscopic) to loosen a ligament that was pulling my knee cap out of joint. I first injured it when I was a kid and on a recent run it fell out for the sixth-ish time and I finally was enough tired of the problem to go see the orthopedic surgeon. I actully started really getting into working out trying to strengthen the quad enough to hold my kneecap in place. I am really praying that this allows my kneecap to stay in place.
It is the crazy contradiction of it being totally worth it to be in pain and on crutches if I never have to be out because of my knee again, and being afraid that this might not really fix the problem, and all of the pain accomplishes nothing.

Welcome Dragonf1y

Welcome dragonfly! Everyone here is great, I'm glad that you delurked! It took me a while to delurk here too, but I'm glad that I did! I also love running, Cathe, and P90X.... but am still working on liking yoga! I know it's good for me, but that doesn't mean I like it! ;-) Looking forward to getting to know you better!
