"Interval Max Enhanced"

BreckGirl

Cathlete
Oh yeah. That sucker ROCKS. I was completely spent when it was over! Didn't have to modify too TOO much (I was DETERMINED), but my "ice breakers" were more like "ice tappers" at the end...

If I had a hat, it would be off to you, A-Jock.

Does anyone think it's a good sign that my HR monitor was flashing "TILT" towards the end of this baby?;-)

RE:

Hi, BreckGirl! Glad you liked I-Max Enhanced. I forgot to mention (I think) that I'm able to extend out all the intervals by 8 to 16 reps (in interval #10, The Doom Interval, I just go into the advanced version while Cathe is demonstrating the modifications), and in interval 1 I just go straight to Power 15's. Give that one a whirl next time!

Here's another suggestion for an I-Max Enhanced if you don't want to burn out on Boot Camp:

I-Max 1 sans recoveries (extending out whichever blasts you like); and
I-Max 2 Blasts ONLY from Mix-N-Match feature (no recoveries).

That one gives you the blissful Straddle Tap Interval, the Plie-Jack Interval, the Sumo Squat Interval and the Power-Squat-With-A-Turn-When-You-Have-Precisely-Zero-Glycogen-Stores-Left Interval.

Also, came up with another Nosebleeder that I'll be trying on Christmas Eve:

Rhythmic Step warm-up (or I-Max 1 warm-up);
HSTA Cardio-Only premix
Step Blast Blasts Only
I-Max 2 Blasts Only
Boot Camp cardio only premix.

Just.

Can't.

Wait.

Oh yes, and *I* forgot to mention that I "lifted" all of every single move. Even the stretches. In fact, come to think of it, I never touched the floor. It was tough, but I'm just in that good of shape.:7

Seriously - thanks A-Jock for being so tremendously torturous! Do you lay awake at night, laughing evilly? Extending those intervals out... man... makes me exhausted just thinking about it. I will PERSEVERE!!!!

RE:

BreckGirl, how didja know? I get this whole Snidely Whiplash thing going when I cook up a new mish-mosh, or a new way of doing a classic Cathe workout that makes the eyeballs steam and the nose bleed. And I've stopped apologizing for the amount of time I spend imaginating (thanks, Dubya) new torture routines; considering how these have boosted my exercise performance AND my vital signs (RHR is now 45 bpm) I think it's time well spent.

Well - off to chortle and cook up some more stuff for me and you. BTW, have you checked out the Butt Kick Lunge + One Legged Squat sequence in Timesaver's Workout #5? Just discovered that snipped this weekend. Where the *&^% have I been?

A-Jock

RE:

Oh yes, the "kickyerbuttkickyerbutt" sequence. I am on pins and needles waiting to hear where you're going to devise to sandwich that thing! (mmmmmmmm sandwich) I'd better go home and do it 28 times in a row to get ready.

The plotting, the scheming, the incessant chortling... and yet, I come back for more.
