Intensity Series too easy anyone?

I have found Boot Camp and Cardio & Weights too easy. Has anyone else thought that? If so, did you do anything to 'up the level'? What did you do? Do you think any gains will be acheived if the workout feels too easy?

Hi Rhiannon! I have mixed the intensities of this series on purpose since alternating hard days with lighter days is safer and more effective overall training for the body. But if you want to add some "juice" to the workouts, simply increase the weights where ever possible, cut back on rests whenever possible (ie: don't rest a full 30 seconds after cardio or 20 seconds after leg work in Boot Camp), and jump higher whenever desired. Have Fun!

Up your step if safety permits it, alternate BC or C&W with Imax or MIC, and up your weights like Cathe said. You could also do power scissors during the lunges of BC to keep the heart rate up during the leg segment. Have fun!

I have an idea-mix these in with really tough tapes (like MIC or BMAX) Like, do MIC the day before, so when you get to Bootcamp the next day, it will seem harder. Or, add some extra work (if time permits!) the same day, to fatigue yourself more before the workout. I do this sometimes, when I feel I won't be getting enough out of my workout, I will throw in another 30 min of running on the treadmill, so that the workout seems more tough, since I am pre-fatigued!

Or add more weights/movement like Cathe said! :)

Wow! You guys are fit! I'm too chicken to do bootcamp and found Imax2 and cardio & weights challenging. I want to be like you when I grow up. :)

Just my 2 cents if you didn't find the workout challenging up your step as safety allows, I use a ten inch step but I am 5'9 long legs. And up your weights Cathe uses 30 pound barbells in some vidioes for legs I might use 50. You are the master of your workouts, like Cathe says in the newest series you put in just as much as you will get out so work hard and have fun !Hope this helped a friend in fitness. Bri.

Yikes!!! Only in my dreams would I find these easy. My heart is palpitating with jealousy...oh fit ones. Bethc

Just previewing Boot Camp made my heartrate go up! I can't wait to do it today. I know it won't be to easy for me!
Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to

ok.......so the first time I did the workout I thought..........hmmmm.....that was really fun. I must be in really good shape because this didn't cream me to the floor. The second time I did the workout.......it kicked me in the butt and we won't even talk about the third time.......! I think these tapes rock! I am having a blast and counting the days until Cathe films some new ones!!!

Before I received the series, I had read posts to the effect that some people thought they weren't as intense as they *should* be. To be honest, I was very concerned. I consider myself an advanced exerciser and did not want another intermediate type tape. There are plenty of those on the market. These tapes were extremely well-planned. I had hit a major plateau this year and thought I'd never break through. I took on her body blast rotation and have to say - I am wiped out. This is my second week - I am seeing results and loving it. If they were any more intense, I'd be unable to continue this rotation. Apparently, Cathe made these to be used together - everything and I mean *everything* is covered in these tapes. Great job Cathe!

When I first did the tapes from the new series, I took it very conservatively. I didn't jump as high, didn't lift as heavy, because I wasn't sure what to expect. The second time through the series, however, I was a little more aggressive, and found things a little more difficult.

To a certain extent, I agree that the tapes can be perceived as "easy" depending on how you take them. They are as hard or easy as I want to make them.

I'm finding that although the tapes are not impossible to do, each tape has a alo of things I really need improving on, and a couple things I simply can't do - especially anything having to do with full body pushups and core work.

For example, I can't do the pikes on the stability ball in the PUB. I have a hard time doing the mountain climbs on the BC video.

So yeah, I could take it easy on myself and get through all the tapes easily, with those few "sticky spots" but by upping my step height and getting really heavy on the weights you can really go to town. These tapes are very solid workouts you can adjust not only from week to week regarding how you use them in a rotation, but also day-to-day depending on how you feel.

Sometimes I wonder why I think every single workout I do has to kick my butt. Sometimes the fact that I'm moving mmy butt is good enough! LOL!

Great workouts, a lot of fun. I'm finding that even after only going through the tapes twice, I have already improved my core work!

Just my 2 cents. Well, I guess you really got five cents worth - haha!

I too agree with the other posters in that they are mostly what you make of them. I did Cardio & Weights today and absolutely loved it! I can see where it could be too easy though if you let it. I think you just have to up your weights and focus on the height of your movements. I did get a killer workout and had a ton of fun! I loved the music. To be honest I was happy when the video was done because I got my butt kicked and I consider myself an advanced exerciser particularly with cardio. However, on a day when I am feeling like a lazy cheater I probably won't do this one unless I WANT to be lazy (which sometimes is a necessity).

I also followed it up with Pyramid Upper Body! I am feeling really good and like I got an excellent workout! I love the music in both of them!!!!!!!1

I finally tried Boot Camp yesterday. My knees are not particularly fond of a lot of impact on the floor so, I had put it off for a while. All the way up through the first set of "terminator" squat thrusts, I was thinking that it was not bad at all. Not realizing that there would be a second set, I really gave it my all, and I have to say that the second set was pretty ugly! Cardio & Weights seemed more difficult the second time I tried it.

I am a dvd person so I'm still waiting, but it will be interesting to see how difficult I find the workouts. I must admit that the first time I did imax it didn't seem that difficult, but the second and third and everytime after that it kicked by butt good. I'm not sure why this is. Maybe the first time or so you don't go as hard because you're learning the choreography etc but as you learn it more you really give it your all. Well, have fun everyone!
