Insulin spike and artificial sweetner?

I do just fine with them but I have heard of other people who find they do spike their insulin. You might try a google search on it.

On some people the sweet taste triggers insulin response -- but artifical sweetners are harmful in other ways -- nutrisweet is a known toxin and effects the nerves -- it can also cause one to become hungry a half hour after being taken, which in fact can make a person fatter. Nutrisweet also has some other toxic effects, which you can look up on the internet.

Why not go with a natural sweetner? Stevia? It's an herb that's been used in South America as a sweetner for thousands of years without one instance of an ill-effect. It does not affect the insulin levels of the body and has no calories. It is not harmful to the teeth like sugar and is completely natural. Personally, I try to keep as many chemicals out of my body as I can. We already live in a drug culture and an environment polluted with toxins and waste -- why put something in my body that will increase the body's load for the liver?

But please find out about it for yourself and make up your own mind. You can research on the internet and there are stevia cookbooks out there that will give you the entire scoop.
