Insanity people

Hi

I am on the fence for buying this product but I see online that I can get all 13 discs with add ons for $69. Is it worth the purchase? It seems that a lot of people recommend it on here but I'm still curious because I sometimes have some knee soreness after some intense workouts and am wondering if this program may make things worse. So, is it REALLY a great program?

It REALLY is a great program. I have dodgy knees, but I only had problems with Insanity in the very last week, and I think that's because I had to miss my rest day that week. BUT, even if you don't follow the program as-is, it's soo good. I can't believe how much fitter I am.. and I feel STRONG. STS made me feel strong, but this made me fee powerful too. I realllly do recommend it. AND IT'S FUN!!!

Just beware.. if your low price is on ebay, it may be too good to be true :(

It IS a really great program, worth the full purchase price. I wouldn't buy it from eBay or something like that though, as at that price, it's probably pirated. I'd go through a Beachbody Coach.

The site for purchase wasn't ebay but a reputable DVD site registered with the BBB and there is a one year return policy so I think it should be fine. I hope

There was a warning about those DVD's on beachbody's facebook page. those $69 one's are not legit and I've seen many complaints where people got defective DVD's, weren't able to get their money back or ended up buying from beachbody anyway.

I LOVE LOVE Insanity! I have had some great results with it and I feel like an athlete when I am done. I am not "good" at it by any means and it challenges me still two months later. That is why I like it. I was concerned that I wouldn't like the "drill" type work but I find that it doesn't bother me. I don't follow the program as suggested because I rotate with STS also.

I'm not sure about the extent of your knee problems but I would just be careful. If you listen to Shaun T during the workout he has some good form pointers.

Oh yeah!! I LOVE LOVE Insanity as well!! I have a wonky hip and a cranky knee. So long as I am careful with my form, I find it all feels GREAT!! Don't get me wrong, you will be SORE the next day! When I first got it, I could barely get through the "warm-up". Now, I can do some- not all of the longer more challenging workouts. I'd also recommend you invest in a heart-rate monintor to make sure you are not going above your personal targets. Keep a water-bottle within reach as well. I have not regretted getting it!! Worth every penny. Just go at your own pace and don't beat yourself up if you can't keep up- that is why they call it Insanity!!:eek:

Have fun!
Pam

I'm 51 years young and I too was on the fence about buying this program; however, the ladies on this forum were relentless with their praise, so I finally broke down and bought it. I'm in week four and cannot believe the increase in my aerobic capacity. I'm a little nervous about next month when the drills get longer, but I'm having a blast doing these workouts. One thing I love about these tapes is how the women out perform the men, talk about motivation!

Some people do just 2 rounds of the Month 2 workout drills (rather than all 3) for the first week as a way to get acclimated the longer drill length and more difficult moves. It adds a week to the rotation, but you might give it some thought. :)

It's really hard to say because you're the only person who ultimately knows how your knees feel. I can tell you from my experience with Insanity so far that it has definitely aggravated both of my knees (I have patella femoral syndrome / runners knee). I have been taking the necessary precautions i.e. wearing knee straps, modifying the super high impact moves, icing after workouts and have even started taking glucosamine supplements. Still, my knees are acting up.

Will I continue with the program? Probably not. I've decided that the short term benefits of Insanity (it's a lot of fun) doesn't justify the long term impact that it could cause to my knees. After all, this is supposed to be a lifetime fitness journey. I would still need my knees to enjoy the things in life that I love like hiking and working out to future DVDs :)

If you get it buy the real thing. Don't support the counterfeiters! :)

And if you have bad knees like me try the Rotasole shoes. They really work.
