Insanity back to back?

I think I saw this question asked somewhere else before, but I'm going to ask it again. Has anyone finished the first rotation of insanity and now they are doing it again? I'm only on the second week of the series and I would like to add in some light weights, about 30 minutes or so, but honestly right now I just don't have the energy after the workouts. I'm going to try next week and see how I do. Is anyone doing this for the second time with a few modifications? Just curious? Thanks

Hi.

I am in week 2 of round 2 of an insanity rotation. The first time around I did the rotation as written but added a day on to the week for weight work. This time I am alternating weights and cardio so that I can get more weight work in. I am using the P90X weight work outs for this. I am following the order of the Insanity cardio as per Shaun's rotation and putting the X work outs in between. So far so good! :)

HOW???

I barely lived through Day 1...........................:p

I have never spent so much time on the carpet until Plyo Circuit.

I thought," Seriously? I'm supposed to get up and do THAT???"
I was in trouble at the warm up! I finished it though, through sheer will and the pause button.

definitely not 30 seconds...hahaha.

it was UGLY. I've run intervals on the treadmill that never killed me like that!

Cupcake,

The important thing is YOU DID IT! Pause button notwithstanding--you kept going and finished the workout! Great job! :)

You will absolutely see an improvement in your cardio capacity w/ these. Your body will adapt and you'll find it easier to keep going longer & longer before you want to hit pause.

That is actually a very good idea. Maybe I'll try to add in one day of full-body weight work. Maybe, I have to be honest, right now I'm dying.

Insanity

So how do you like the workouts? Shaun T. drives me crazy...not in a good way. I have the hip hop abs and just can't stand the way he always is lifting his shirt up and acts so flirtatious. Is that just the way he is????
Hopefully Insanity will be more of a workout and less "dancy".

There's no comparison between Insanity and Hip Hop Abs. There's no dancy aspect to Insanity and while Shaun T often removes his shirt late in the workout, it's justified based on the sweat factor. Most of the cast remove theirs too. No flirtaciousness either, he's more like a Coach training a group of athletes.

Re: hoping 'Insanity will be more of a workout'--be careful what you wish for! It's intense.

my rotation will be

p90x+ upper
insanity
p90x+ total
insanity
p90x+ upper
insanity

week 2 start with p90x+ total

laura
maybe to much but i will try it

Thanks for the information. I think I will order it in a couple of weeks, I have to buy Christmas gifts for the kids first. I didn't mean to sound harsh....

You didn't sound harsh!

Lots of people (especially those who like Cathe's workouts) didn't care for HHA. Given that Shaun T did HHA, that's why there was some initial skepticism about Insanity's intensity level. Shaun T. proved his versality as an instructor w/ Insanity though. Let me know if you have any questions about Insanity.

Good luck w/ the rest of your shopping!
