INSANE PARTY - Thurs, 9/17

Good Morning Y’All!!

CCB is done and haven’t done this one since RW since I’ve been subbing MIST for it. M2 has helped me with that last round of hip flexor & shoulder burners since I was able to get through them much easier than in RW. CCB is really that perfect workout to go to when you don’t really feel like doing a workout, but still want to work up a sweat :)

Dawn ~ Waking up hungry makes for an extra tough morning workout. Do you drink coffee? :)

Brenda ~ CONGRATULATIONS on your last day in the asylum!!!! How do you feel?:D

Colleen ~ Did you get to go out to dinner? :)

Regina ~ Hope your DH joins the Insanity craze because my DH has enjoyed it. He even lost 14lbs which is surprising because he is in great shape and I never knew he even had 14 lbs to lose?? His body got more defined and looks like the guy in the UB weight workout (forgot his name), but maybe that’s why I like that workout so much ;) I forgot to add that another result of Insanity for me is the most obvious - a greatly increased cardio capacity, which I’m anxious to take onto my other workouts. Truth be known that prior to Insanity I was enjoying the less cardio, more weights theory. Insanity pushed me to do the most intense cardio consecutively (just about every day) in a concentrated (2 months) time period, which I had not seen since my running days over 7 years ago so it was a true wake-up call. I really could go on & on about how much I love this program, but I’ll stop here :p

Becky ~ Do you listen to music when you run? That was my favorite part of running was to just put my headphones on and zone out :)

Marinanne ~ It’s wild how your body will adapt to M2. Yep, those football drills are tough. I’ll be around the forums - I’m addicted :p

Sandra ~ I agree with all the upper body work included in M2. I didn’t expect it in this program, but am pleasantly surprised :D

Have a super day everyone!!!

Good Morning,
Just a fly-by check-in. I did YL:HH and then MR. This was my first time with MR since I slept in last week :(. I'm really glad I started out with HipHelper. ;) My right hip is still much tighter then my left. MR is a good "burner" workout. My tri's were burning on the push-ups, my inner thighs were burning on the legs and I had to go slower then they did on the hi-low planks. Did they slow down on the left side or was I going faster by then? I did much better at keeping up on the left side.

Jennifer, No coffee for me, my workout is my morning coffee.

I need to get an earlier start today so I'll BBL to see what y'all afternoon and evening gals were up to yesterday.

ETA: Okay I'm back....

Brenda, Woo Hoo! How's the graduate? Any final thoughts.? I think we need a speech from our first graduate. :)

Colleen, Sometimes the body just needs to sleep in. That's exactly what I did last Wednesday. Although I never did make up my MR workout. :( I'm sure you were back at it and energized this morning (assuming DOMs hadn't set in yet from MR last night).

Regina, I had a couple bites of cottage cheese right before going to bed. I was only the slightest bit hungry this morning so I grabbed a cherry tomato and went to it. Of course today was MR and there was no cardio involved.

Becky, I looked at the MudRun pictures. Wowza! The name MudRun makes it sounds like one of those family fun cutsie type runs. Nope, that looks like a serious deal. Good luck and have fun. It does look like it'll be both very hard and a little fun at the same time. Who are you doing this with since I see it involves teams?

Marianne, Oh yeah it will get easier. That or we just expect less out of ourselves the next time. LOL I'm kidding of course. I know we're all improving.

Sandra, So far I have only done the HH workshop all the way through. Since then I have only done the first 32 minutes of the practice (up to the leg slide thingies). I agree that an hour seems like a long time to dedicate to openin the hips. I will try and do the full hour on Sunday with the fit test. Power through screaming was Brenda's find. I don't actually scream since I don't want the DH to run down to stairs to make sure I'm okay if he hears me screaming ;) . I just let out a large exhale which is what a scream forces you to do anyway. I just like the term "power through screaming". :) I can't believe you are still combining STS and Insanity workouts during M2.....

Whooee! You ladies are rocking the house today!!!! :D:eek::D

I'm a talking runner...everyone wants to run with me because I talk their ear off and distract them from the pain! :p:rolleyes: And by running my mouth, it distracts me as well! LOL!

Today isn't quite as easy as I'd planned. My partners in pain talked me into a 2 mile freaking sprint...17 minutes!!!! What a killer! Then a little cycle and a little circuit weights. Tonight I'm going solo on teaching! Whoohoo! Nervous/excited!

I'm doing the MudRun with one of my Y workout pals, her husband and a guy he works with. I'm a little intimidated because the girl I am replacing from last year's team left to join the Secret Service! Although, what I want to know is WHAT the FBI wouldn't take her!?!? Just kidding!

I will check in tomorrow to let you know how my pre-race rest day is going!

Keep up the INSANITY!!!

Becky

How Y'all Doin'??
This morning I taught a yoga class then came straight home to IA and MCC. I think the yoga helped get me primed for the last day because I powered through with just a few seconds out here and there for water. I did those football sprints into low planks right with the crew (without catching my toes on the rug and falling forward like I did the first time doing MCC) I was able to do 4 more power pushups than before and stay there to do plank punches straight through. Adrenaline and seeing the finish line is a marvelous thing!!

Sandra: You are a machine!!! I couldn't handle upper body weight workouts with Month 2 let alone teach strength classes as well. I was fortunate to be able to back off my GX teaching schedule for Insanity and it really helped me get straight through. YOU GO GIRL!!

Dawn: TOO FUNNY! I will consider myself a graduate after the fit test tomorrow and I will post those results.

Jennifer: Coming down the chutes to the finish line is such a great feeling... power through!!

Regina: As Jennifer stated earlier, I also have been a fan of heavy weights, less cardio for about the last 2 years. Insanity was exactly what I needed to shock my body. I was doing heavy lifting 3 days a week and cardio 3 days a week and while I thought the cardio was sufficient, it obviously wasn't anything like Shaun's program. I am tremendously happy ith the results, every last drop of sweat was worth the changes to my body.

Colleen: I am overjoyed with my results. My goals entering into this rotation were to lose the extra 5 pounds that had crept up on me since December. I am 48 and starting the whole menopause sequela of power surges (hot flashes) weight gain in the stomach and skin changes. I wanted to shock my body and see if it was still possible to do cardio at this level consistently for 2 months without wearing out my joints! I completed STS in May and was concerned about maintaining my results.
Insanity was exactly what my body needed, I lost 10 pounds ( and then I purposefully gained 2 more back because I was starting to get too skinny) leaned out in my thighs, and have developed a "4pack" in my stomach.,, something I didn't have when I was running regularly in my mid 30's. The oblique cuts in my abdomen are unbelievable... I have never been this defined in the abs my whole life!! My arms and legs have maintained strength and the cuts I got while doing STS have become even more defined. I will never look like our beloved Cathe, but I know I am looking my strong and healthy best.

Mariann: I will be checking in (and posting)- I have to see how all my fellow Insanitinas are doing!!

Everybody have a great day,
Brenda in Indiana
