Good Morning Y’All!!

Today is my rest day, but I did Deb Dobbins “Spirit of Vinyasa Flow”, which has some great hip openers and I feel soooooo relaxed - AAAAAAHHHHH :D Other than GroceryMax I have nothing on the docket for today, just hanging out with DDs since DH comes home tonight from his boys' weekend

Marianimal ~ Yes, Monday starts my last week of Insanity then I might do a mish mosh for a week of kettlebells and yoga then I’m going for another round of P90X :D

Elena ~ Shopping with DD sounds great, did you get anything? :D I do not have SS and have not done it so sorry I can’t comment.

Have a super day everyone!!

Looks like Insanity is making hip opener workouts popular. I will be doing YogaLink Hip Helpers today. I hope it is as helpful for me as it was for Becky.

Maria, Enjoy the start of Month 2 workouts. The first day is the toughest. It does get easier after that.

Elena, I think the Slim Series would be much better then the Slim in 6. It's sort of like P90 vs. P90X from what I understand. I do have the Slim Series. I did about 2 weeks of her rotation and that's about it. I did pick up one of the workouts once more after that and have never gone back. It's not my cup of tea. It reminds me a little bit of Firm workouts (light weights higer reps) and I find Debbie's personality a bit dry. JMHO.

Jennifer, I'm jealous, I'll trade you schedules for today. ;)

Well gotta go do my hip helper workout.

I am doing LaundryMax and Baking Max. :p I also cut up a bunch of fruit so I won't have the excuse to not grab it for an easy snack!

No INSANITY today. I am going to do the Yoga Link workout and the other one I got for sacrum, low back. I'm doing a USMC Mud Run next Saturday and I am terrified of getting hurt before. It's a team event so the pressure is on to not lot my team mates down! I want to wrap myself in bubble wrap until Saturday! LOL! I'm not quite as worried as the hurt after which I hear is intense!

Jennifer, you asked about books...well, this could be a long list.
A couple series I've gone through in the past year are Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward. It's a vampire series, but definitely for adults. I love them all and won't even loan the books out for fear of not getting them back! (like there are no more copies in the world! lol!)

Karen Marie Moning has a great Highlander series which has a bit of time travel and they are really well done.

For laugh aloud, nearly drown yourself while reading in the tub fun (yes, it has happened!) Sandra Hill cannot be beat! Her Viking books are time travels. Her Cajun series are not. Unmatched in the almost choke to death on diet coke while reading (yes, that has also happened!)
Susan Elizabeth Phillips is also amazing and humorous!

Mystery/suspense...I can't get enough Allison Brennan, Andrea Kane, Iris Johanson, Karen Rose, Lisa Gardner, Tess Gerritsen, Karin Slaughter, Lisa Jackson

Mystery suspense with paranormal...Kat Martin (which answers your original question, I read THE SUMMIT yesterday by Kat) and Heather Graham

Action/adventure...never go wrong with Clive Cussler, Ted Bell or Brad Thor

Tear your heart out, but ending happily ever after, excellent romance/relationship...Catherine Anderson and Susan Wiggs ROCK!

And of course the usual suspects....James Patterson and Nora Roberts

Sorry, I told you this could get ridiculous. I have to read the way most people have to eat or breathe. I could continue but I'll stop hijacking the thread now! :D

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Becky

Good Afternoon Y’All!!

Got groceries done, food cut up, meals made & put away and just enjoying a nice rainy afternoon :D

Dawn ~ Careful what you offer, DD (4yo) is quite a handful :p I didn’t realize how much I really needed to do some hip opener yoga until my practice this morning. Wow  I figured that the hip flexor work and recovery workouts in Insanity were doing the trick, but apparently I needed more work. Let me know how your YogaLink works out :)

Becky ~ What are you baking? I was in a dangerous baking mood last weekend and fortunately got it out of my system for this week, at least ;) A huge THANK YOU for your book recommendations. I just ordered the first 4 books of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series (since I can't borrow yours :p) - I couldn’t find a way to order the whole set on Barnes & Noble, but these 4 books should keep me busy for a little while. I had to quit my book club a little over a year ago (and I miss it) just because of the pressure of having to get the book read by our meeting each month. Some months I could do it, then sometimes someone would pick some 1200 page book and I would stress out if I didn’t have it read by our meeting and started skipping my workouts to get the books read!! Oh the horror  I’m so excited to read this series, then I can start on the rest of your suggestions. THANK YOU again!! :D

Checking in a final time before running off for a retirement party.

Becky, I bookmarked this page. I will look into the Viking and HighLander series books. They sound right up my alley.. :D

Jennifer, I can handle any 4 year old for a day. Remember I get to send them back... :p I also realized how tight my hips really truly are when I did Hip Helpers today. Do we need to start a Hip Openers check-in? Yes, I'm kidding....

See ya all tomorrow.

Hi everyone-
Just wondering what hip helpers are?

Did my 3rd fitness test today( changes from last test)
switch kicks +5
power jacks - no change
power knees +6
power jumps +5
globe jumps +2
suicide jumps +3
push up jacks +3
low plank oblique +4

Pretty happy with results! Hope everyone had a great insane day.
Keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow when I start Month 2

Marianne

Good Evening Ladies,
Looks like evryone had a busy weekend getting all that baking, cleaning and laundry done. I hear y'all on those hip openers, my hamstrings have been talking to me all weekend. I think I may squeeze in a little yoga before bedtime tonite.
Marianne: great gains on the fit test!!! Isn't it wonderful to see the improvements?
Becky: How long is the run on Saturday? I know how you feel about the team thing, I have run a couple of marathons as part of a team and I was always terrified of an injury either before or during the race, I just couldn't let my teammates down.

Today I did Insane Abs first then straight into Max Intensity Cardio. Everything was going along great (OK I'll admit it , I did pause the dvd twice to catch my breath, maybe about 10 extra seconds each time) until I came to those up and down planks toward the end. My right arm was wobbling after only a few of them, probably because of all the painting I have been doing lately, so I did sit out one set on the right side and made it through the end of that exercise.... then came plank punches, which I was screaming at the TV the entire time I was doing them and I found out that yelling really helps me to push through!! What a discovery to make during the last week of the program.

Hello

I did Max Cardio Conditioning today and I do feel that each week Insanity is getting a tad bit easier. At first I thought that I since i knew what was coming, I was pacing myself. Today I did not take any more than the prescribed rest periods and I noticed at the end that i was not sweating as much as usual nor did i feel that I was as wiped out.
