Good Morning Y’All!!

MCC is done and I’m not sure if I will ever be able to get through that one without any breaks, but it looks like most of the crew cannot either;)

Marianimal - WELCOME!! I was able to get through each of M1 workouts without taking a break (at least once) HOWEVER let’s define taking a break. As I learned the workouts I learned how to pace myself, so sometimes I was not going as fast as the crew and at a very slow pace ;) Also, you’ll notice that the rotation sometimes puts 3 workouts in a row and the workout on that 3rd day just wore me out. You will definitely be ready for M2 once you’ve completed your rest week. M2 has more of a strength focus and the exercises are a bit different, still challenging, but in a different way. As I mentioned above, today was my 2nd time doing MCC (in M2) and I may not make it through this entire workout without a break, but I will try :p I think this program will always be at my challenge level, but that's a good thing :D

Happy Monday everyone

Good Morning,
Yesterday must have been a full moon. The Asylum was busy. ;) Good to have the company. :D

Today was MIC(first time). Whoa! That was tough, tough, tough. I have lots and lots of room for improvement. I was really slow on many on the moves and concentrated on my form, which could use help. Those oblique side jump things were brutal, those switch kick on the floor were brutal, and there were others that kicked my butt really well. I modified the plank punches and did them from my knees for the final round of the last circuit. This workout will build up endurance in my wrists. I really started to feel in in my wrist..

Marianimal, If you feel more comfortable you can continue with M1 workouts. There is no rule that you HAVE to follow the rotation as intended. That being said, the idea of this series is to shock the system. Now that you've become comfortable with the moves in M1, M2 has new moves to challenge you. To me it sounds like you can move on, but you need to listen to your inner voice and do what you feel you need to do.

Becky, Welcome back to the fray.... Enjoy your Insanity today.

Annette, It sounds like you put almost as much energy into creating your workouts as you do the workout. That workout sounds fun, but brutal...

Elena, Good to see you again. Remember the happy dance you're doing now that the kiddos are back in school counts as a mini-workout too. :D

Colleen, Woohoo on the go ahead from your PT.

Jennifer, I did notice you messed up and confused me with someone else again. I think you need to apologize to them and not me. :p

Brenda, Wow you made it all the way to the final round of plank punches. That's like one of the last moves. Im....pressive!!!!

Hello ladies! Well, DH and I are newbies to Insanity and I thought I would hop on your thread. :) We are still completing our second round of 3.5 month STS and desperately needed some new cardio. Well, I took the plunge and ordered us Insanity week before last. We received the discs on Friday, August 28th. We did the Fit Test on Saturday along with PowerMax. We completed the Fit Test successfully and are VERY pleased with our purchase. We thank all of the enablers here, because Shaun T rocks! :)
So, any who, we will be using Insanity for our cardio for the rest of Meso 3, and then using it until Shock Cardio comes out.
Have a great week ladies!

Hi Everyone!

Today was day 1 of Recovery week so I did CCB & a 10 minute run. I hope to do one body part from GS tonight but it is my wedding anniversary today so I will have to see if I have time.

Marianimal - I wasn't able to do well on the ski abs until the last time I did PCC. I am still planning to move forward with M2 next week.
Melissa - welcome to the group! Enjoy the rest of your workouts!
Jennifer - you have me worried about MCC next week but I always love a challenge.
Dawn - ooh - next week is going to be tough. I guess I should enjoy my recovery this week.

Melissa, Yeah, Glad to see you made it over here. You'll enjoy Insanity. I have seen really great strides in my cardio capacity during M1. :D

Colleen, Happy anniversary! Yes enjoy your recovery week. This first workout did not get my HR up as high as some of the others from M1, but it was tougher for me because of the new moves.

Welcome to the asylum Melissa, i am sure you and DH will enjoy the challenge of Insanity.
Hey, we all love the challenge of the intensity of these workouts, some days are better than others, but we get through it!

I subbed the sports drill dvd from the deluxe set for Max Intesity Plyo today. I really like Shaun's style, he always says something to help me with my form or pick up my wilting (literally) mindset to power through the drills. For those of you that do not have this dvd, I think I could have lived without it, but I am glad i got it. It consists of sports drills that are about 1 minute each. Boxing drills start the workout: fun and gradually building intensity. Football drills are next: Those dreaded wide football sprints dropping into low plank, then moving low plank over 8, hop up and repeat. Then Shaun gets really evil ( I am glad I was alone in the house because i was saying things that made me blush!) with the next drill: Low plank hold and tiny pulses for 30 seconds. After the first 12 seconds my low plank turned to a high plank with elbows barely bent with the pulses. My triceps are still heated from that exercise. A couple of tackle drills followed: wonderful pain for the quads.Basketball drills followed with jump shots and fast feet drills, guard drills (basically low squats arms wide hop backwards and then 2 minutes of suicides. My quads were screaming by this time. Gymnastic drills were fun Pike Jumps( hands on floor, feet wide knees slightly bent, jump and use abs to pull legs up to straight leg table top position as you do handstand) pendulum : handstand swinging 1 leg, then the other off floor. Bronco jumps (low squat elbows bent dive forward on hands lifting legs up like bucking bronco, jump back onto feet and hop 3) Some evil simple ab work and then running drills finishing with Long Jump drills. All in all a fun workout that I have lots of room to improve.

I started this workout after a long day at work and all i really wanted to do was take a nap, but after the warmup I was pumped and ready to go. The workout went great, I am a happy sweaty mess.... off to the shower and then on to the gym to teach my Pilates class.

have a great evening y'all!

Thanks everyone for the info and encouragement. Today is my off day -YIPPEE!
I feel so superior when I keep going and Shaun T tells on of the crew in the video to take a break. I conveniently ignore the fact that they were probably filming for hours before they shot that. I also ignore the fact that they have about 2% body fat and I don't. Those things seem irrelevant I think.
Back to Pylo tomorrow!
Does anyone else laugh in Pure Cardio when that Shaun T asks that girl "How you feel?" and she says "I want to leave." It takes him a few seconds to realize what she says and then he has the funniest look on his face!

Good evening, Ya'll!!!! How ya doin'????

Jennifer - Man, you're going strong!!! And you're loving M2, I gather? Woohoo!!

Dawn - Ooooh if MIC is going to "really strengthen your wrists", then there must be a lot of plank work . I can't wait to read how well you're doing with this workout 30 days from now!

Melissa - Welcome! So, how will you be combining Insanity and STS Meso 3?

Colleen - Happy anniversary! How many years?

Brenda -:eek::eek::eek::eek: That sports interval dvd sounds off the charts!!! Yes, I have it....now I'm not sure I'll ever want to use it! Is all that crazy handstand stuff really a necessary thing to do? Will my life be incomplete if I never do it? Okay, okay, maybe some day I'll challenge myself..... Enjoy your pilates class tonight!

Marianimal - LMAO!! Yes, that little bit between Shaun and the crew member is hilarious. He seems dumbfounded at her response. I love that he tells her to take a break! Priceless.

Okaaaaay, I've been staying very sane over the last few days. You'll recall that I strained my lower back on Thursday afternoon. I managed well enough on Friday to do my Insanity workout, and my last STS Meso 2 workout. On Saturday I taught my AquaFit and CycleFit classes, and my back was doing well enough. But by Sunday I was getting very tired of the soreness and stiffness. I was supposed to do PCC on Sunday, but I took it as a full rest day instead. I spent some time lying on my back with my knees over a stack of pillows. That feels so good :). I've decided I need to really focus on rest and recovery for a bit. I had 4 workouts left in Month 1: PCC, CR, PC & CA, and PCC. But I've also inserted 1 or 2 cycles every week, plus a few 30mins runs with my 6am client. The way I figure it, I can consider Month 1 finished. I'm going to use this as the recovery week and start Month 2.......maybe next week. I did 35 mins of yoga today, which just feels so wonderful.

Is Cardio Core Balance a gentle workout? I'm trying to decide whether I can start doing that workout, or whether I should stay with the yoga.

I'm also re-evaluating how I want to do Month 2. Reading all your posts gets me so motivated to do the workouts! Yet, come mid-September I'll be teaching 6 classes a week, plus subbing when asked. Obviously my back is trying to tell me I need more rest, and I really, really want to do more yoga. I'll have to work things out. Any suggestions are welcome.

I had a former client contact me on the weekend and to say she has a herniated disc in her lower back, and she would like to do some yoga/pilates/core work with me, starting in the next week or two. This is probably a golden opportunity for me to make my own back rehab a bigger priority. I've booked a physical therapy assessment for this Friday. Once I have my assessment, I'll be better able to decide what I need to do.

Have a great night, Ya'll!!!!
Sandra
