Hi everyone,
Anyone else snowbound today? Phila was hit pretty hard early on. Snowing again now!
Does anyone have any tips for how to get up early without disturbing your sleeping partner? I have traditionally been a morning exerciser (the only way I will get a workout in). For several yeras, my husband & I woke up around the same time (about 5:45-6:00). This allowed me some decent workout time before heading to work. I have been on&off my usual routine for about the past year (for a variety of reasons), and have spent the past several weeks exploring new strategies for re-establishing a regular routine.
I have a different job now, & while the hours are good (flexible on some days),I have come to realize that getting an earlier start on my day (5:00-5:15) would allow me to accompish more & feel less rushed. I am also desperate for a more disciplined schedule, and miss my early morning regimens & the sense of well-being they provided.
The problem is, my husband gets his feathers ruffled if his nest is disturbed before the 5:45 alarm. We have two alarm clocks, but I need mine a little louder to jolt me out of bed. He has risen at the same time every day for years, and wakes practically automatically. I am hoping that with a little practice, I will eventually adapt to a new wake-up time and merely require a gentle reminder. In the meantime, though, I don't wan't to abandon my workout plans out of fear of disturbing my poor sleeping prince.
I'm sorry to be so long winded. I actually feel pretty silly posting this question. Don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill, but this really is a problem (at least for now).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
michele

Hi Michele!

? I have an idea for you. There are beepers out there with alarms on them that have a vibrating option. Pagenet makes one. You could set the beeper alarm to vibration and then put it under your pillow. My husband happens to have this beeper and I/We just tested it out(can you tell that we are just a little stir crazy from being cooped up today

?). It does work and the vibration is not overly strong. If anything you can hear it more than you can feel it right through your pillow. Also, the noise and vibration did not carry over to his pillow.

Just a suggestion. Well, good luck with whatever you try.

genius

Cathe,
You are a genius (and I mean it). even in a sleep-deprived fog you have managed to help your fellow man/woman/person. Seriously, I love that idea.
I have one question, though (open to whomever wants to answer, because I feel silly having you (cathe) waste more precious baby time on this issue). My beeper for work does not have an alarm option (I'm pretty convinced of that). Could I just buy another beeper for "alarm purposes only", or would I need to go on a monthly service thing?

Thanks for any & all advice. I promise furute posts will not be so annoying.
Michele
