Inner thigh work

In the Pure Strenght routine the inner thigh work is done with a weighted body bar. I do not have one of these so I used a 10 lb weight on my abductors and lifted.

Is the placement of the weight on this part of the leg still working the the specific muscle you intended for inner thigh work?

My barbell just felt a bit heavy even though it may be 10 lbs also, it felt like it was/is more difficult using a bar versus the plate.

Hi Tytbody! The further away your weighted extremity is from the center of the body, the harder the exercise will be. But if it causes discomfort, say at the knee joint, then place it above the working muscle group, as you did or just above the knee joint.
 
Thank you. I'll stick with the bar, heavy as it is, just work my way up to completion. Now that will be something to see:) Thank you for explaining the reason for this particular piece of equipment.
